I think people need to get over Boyle and quickly, because the last thing I wanna hear throughout this whole process is "It should have been Danny." Make your peace and move on. Fukunaga is gonna do a bloody good job. He deserves recognition and shouldn't be given the backhand because of someone that isn't involved anymore. Boyle may get his chance in the future, but for now, it's Fukunaga's time to shine.

Bellucci can’t act. She’s just gorgeous, period. She can’t even dub. In the Italian version she obviously dubbed herself and was atrocious. I remember people laughing in the theatre during the funeral scene.

    I can confirm that.

Boyle has as good of a chance of another shot the same as pierce getting a 5th movie made. Boyle and Barbara couldn't stand each other from what's been said I doubt he'll ever direct in the future

I don't actually mind that to be honest, I only said he may get another chance to keep the Boyle fans happy, cause we all know they're not happy at the moment :D

The story goes he was crafting something that departed from the bond character and lore. Babs wasn't keen on it and wanted P&W to oversee hodge , this is supposedly what made Boyle tick as well as his casting choices being shot down. When eon hired him it must not have been clear that babs gets the final say

I've said this before, but my wager is that EON felt quite burned by the leaks. They're doing everything they can to avoid repeating that experience.

I’m sure that factors in theoretically. But practically that notion most disappear rapidly.

Think about the leaks we have had for Bond25 - which are more than you think:

◾️ Danny Boyle and Craig fell out over whether to cast Tomaz Kotz.
◾️ Craig wanted to make a FRWL-esque story and Boyle pitched a ‘new Cold War’ story.
◾️ Boyle objected to killing Bond.
◾️ Eon wanted to remove John Hodge and Boyle walked.
◾️ Eon went back to Purvis and Wade’s treatment.

This film has had a lot of leaks. I suspect the reason we haven’t heard anything in terms of casting is mainly due to Eon still being the middle of casting! Decisions and contracts are probably being finalised soon

Nothing to do with the plot I think we mean.

SPECTRE had early drafts of the script leaked, arguments between Sony and EON aired in public

In comparison to that Bond 25 is tight as a drum.

At the moment we really don't know what this film is about and my hunch is that EON themselves have been throwing some of the rumours out themselves deliberately to muddy the waters.

The North Korea leak hardly counts. It wasn't Eon's fault - plus, those more plot specific leaks only really resonated with folks on forums chasing spoilers. Most people were aware but either oblivious about how to find the leaks or too busy to bother looking.

This is a little different - there has been journalist articles in trade publications and British newspapers covering the Boyle fallout.

Does anyone here have a Production Weekly account? Last week's issue has an update on Bond 25's start date.

Whatever mate, it doesn't matter what I say you'll disagree.

I don't think we are anywhere near where we were with that travesty but if you think Bond 25 is in a similar place that's your prerogative.

Perhaps he knows something we don't. Or, he's one of those actors who doesn't like to reprise roles.

Boyle also said publicly that he was beholden to the literary character so I can’t really see where he would be straying if that’s the case. It seems like Craig wanted him, Barbara is in business of making Craig happy and then as things progressed, Boyle is used to no interference and Barbara expected more collaboration and it got awkward, then resentment, then people got pissed.

Never understood the appeal of Boyle for Bond. The only thing I'd give him is that I was more intrigued about his casting idea for the villain than the one who is rumored right now. And I'm glad we have a lesser known director again and hope this trend will carry on in the future.

At first I read that as Government House. And it occurred in Sean Connery's voice in my mind.

Yes, please take that delay nonsense down. About time. Still just a rumour.

The rehearsal thing just corroborates Archivo's info from earlier this month. The title will stay the same until something new surfaces.

Ok. But couldn't it just say: United Artists Returns. That would, at least, make us happy when reading it. And...it's factual.

The possibility of a delay hasn't actually been debunked. I followed the situation quite closely and there are credible theories on both sides. April came from the film's DOP which is substantial enough in itself.

You're right. I'm a hysterical Bond fan who believes Bond 25 is doomed. I am totally not looking at the situation completely rationally unlike most on this board.
