I think we're just going to have to wait till the press conference.

They're probably just being tight-lipped and learning their lesson from Spectre, seeing as most (if not all) the cast of Spectre was rumoured before the announcement.

We also may be getting another Casino Royale situation, because Eva Green and Mads Mikkelsen were cast about two weeks before they were meant to be on set and shortly after filming had commenced.

And they were both excellent in their respective roles, so nothing to worry about.

Could it be that Rami Malek was all set to be cast but that has somehow fallen through and they are now looking for a new casting? Or its he has been cast and they want to announce on Feb 28th following a likely Oscar win.

Anything is possible with Malek's casting, so we'll just have to wait and see :)

I have a feeling the Malek situation will turn into what happened with Chewetel Ejiofor for SP.

Also, it's safe to say that we'll find something out on February 24th at the Oscars, unless Daniel skips the red carpet.

I also have that feeling. Hopefully this time it works better. Those situations can lead to some really creative solutions.

I hope you're right about Malek.

So perhaps location shooting begins in April, but studio work begins in March.
I think so too. The production team for Casino Royale did the same. They started shooting at Pinewood a month before they went on location.

Spectre started in December the whole month at Pinewood then in January went to shoot the Austrian scenes so it does make sense.

Ooh that’d be a great title!

I hope next bond film pays their tribute in a special way to Sir Roger Moore even if 2 years would have been passed when film will be released.

I hope for a 'In loving memory of Sir Roger Moore' at the start of the end credits, like they did for Cubby Broccoli in TND.

I’ll be expecting this. Also maybe some sort of reference in the film?

I highly doubt they'll dedicate the film to Roger as he had no relation to the actual production team. However, an homage/nod of sorts is definitely in the cards.

Maybe even with some sweet message like this one here:

If they don't I would be quite shocked and appalled. Not only was the guy a dear friend to Cubby, but he was the best ambassador the franchise has ever know.
  • I would think Barbara would include a nice tribute, at least in the credits, to Roger.

    Thursday, February 28.

The date to start filming of the three previous films was on Monday and the press conference on Thursday before.

I don't think we're going to get the title and press conference until the end of march. Spectres conference came 11 months before release I expect the same here

Guys, if you refer to a recent post, you'll see someone has suggested the 28th February or the 8th March for the press conference.

To be honest, looking at prior conferences isn't going to help. It's going to be based on what's happening now, and their schedules now. Not based on their schedules five/six years ago.

Ok, but it was Thursday too.

    [*] Casino Royale - Friday / October 14th, 2005
    [*] Quantum Of Solace - Thursday /January 24th, 2008
    [*] Skyfall - Thursday / November, 03rd, 2011
    [*] SPECTRE - Thursday / December 04th

So, I think Thursday / February 28th for the Press Conference of BOND 25

While looking through this article about why each Bond actor quit (https://www.esquire.com/uk/latest-news/a24423835/james-bond-quit-connery-moore-lazenby-brosnan-dalton/), I saw something interesting about Dalton's Bond that reminded me of the current situation with Craig's Bond era, as far as gaps go. How times have changed...

The door was open for Dalton to return as Bond when the lawsuit was resolved in 1994, but he had decided he would only want to return for one movie.

"[Producer Albert Broccoli] said, quite rightly, 'Look, Tim. You can't do one. There's no way, after a five-year gap between movies that you can come back and just do one. You'd have to plan on four or five,'" Dalton recalled.

"And I thought, 'Oh, no, that would be the rest of my life. Too much. Too long.' So I respectfully declined."

Saddest part of it is, he COULD have been doing them the rest of his life. Look at him today at 72.

I would love to see a portrait of Roger in his Naval Uniform hanging up somewhere in Bond 25.

As much as I’d like that, I’d feel like that would support the code name theory. Perhaps use the Moore gunbarrel to open up the film? So for that brief shining moment, Roger Moore is James Bond again.

I don't think it would be. People have been complaining for so long about Daniel Craig's gunbarrel that to completely discard it by having Roger Moore's would just bring it all up again.

There are many other ways they can honour Moore than replacing the gunbarrel, plus people who have only watched Craig's era will be left confused and spend the fist five minutes of the film googling why Roger Moore was in the gunbarrel?

Let Craig have his final gunbarrel, and either dedicate the film to Moore or find another way to homage him without completely distracting from the film we're about to watch.

On screen tribute to Roger Moore then Craig's gunbarrel would be an awesome opening.

Might socialize more of the audience to Craig Bond doing Bond stuff.
