Looks very hush-hush, as nobody will confirm what the building is going to be used for, but according to Dagbladet, it's work done on behalf of the production company True North – the same company behind the incentive application for Bond 25.

My question is, why film in Nittedal? This doesn't fill me with the same anticipation as locations along the coastline of western Norway would…

The Austrian lake location (if that's where it was) in SP was great but barely used. Such a waste given how long the film was.

  • I'm elated that Lupita Nyong'o might be the Bond girl. It would be kind of a perfect storm with Black Panther being so huge now. I'm guessing she would be the MI6 agent.

If it doesn't work out with her, I'd still be excited if they pick an unknown. That model looks intriguing too.

I have to agree with you. Why apply for incentives to film in Norway of all places if the scenes themselves are constricted to small municipalities that can easily double for other locations? There is likely more to the story but if they were booking major sites in western Norway then I imagine they would've leaked by now.

That bit is a bit lost in translation, by the looks of it: "…brøyte isen på vannet", as the Dagsavisen article mentions (referring to the VG.no article), would translate as "clearing the ice on the water".

The VG article must have been edited afterwards, as there's no mention of this in that article now, but instead they mention that "There's a cabin being built, and a big open space has been cleared, which might function as a parking spot for an estimated hundred cars – or several trucks."

Since the article was edited to "…and a big open space has been cleared, which might function as a parking spot for an estimated hundred cars – or several trucks.", it's probably just for practical reasons. You never know though.

Just heard on the radio (Heart) that Bond 25 will be called Shatterhand. If true I love it. But how official is it?
I'm doubting Shatterhand a bit now because it would just seem so obvious.

Then again, that's happened before. Case in point, at 1:11. ;)

About as official as Aiden Turner being Craig’s replacement.

It's funny that Shatterhand has been the working title for so long now and the media is now just running rampant with it! If B25 is truly going to be Shatterhand then that would be fine with me although I kinda prefer a more inventive and inspired title.

According to a article by Nettavisen, the local municipality this afternoon released documents about the building of the cabin. This information was not available to the public until now, with reasons being "competition concerns". At the same time, it's confirmed by the municipality that this is indeed for a film shoot, but they didn't want to reveal any further details.

An application letter concerns a request about driving motorised vehicles in the area. It's also submitted a request of:

    - construction of temporary tents and (parking) space for trucks
    - construction of a temporary parking place for motorised vehicles and a temporary road
    - construction of a 12x16 meter long temporary building, as well as a smaller building

Edit (this bit wasn't included in my post for some reason):
Communications advisor Gro Rognmo in the Norwegian Film Institute tells Nettavisen that she doesn't believe this is related to Bond 25, and that they've started production in Norway.

"They're probably considering other places to shoot, and they have until April to accept the offer we have given them. We do hope they say "yes", and that there will be production of James Bond in Norway", Rognmo told Nettavisen early Friday afternoon.

"No, I don't believe it is it (B25), but everything is very secret regarding this production, Rognmo says, adding that she doubts that the production of the upcoming Bond film has started – not at least since Cinema Blend just reported that the script was being rewritten.

"No, so I don't believe this is shooting of James Bond", she says.

One of the problems I have with Shatterhand is that it would mean getting a second adaptation of YOLT, which would deviate even more so from original text than the actual adaptation did.

Everytime I've heard someone bring up this possibility, they've wanted it to be done right, which means we'd need Waltz to return and the film to be set in Japan. None of the locations we have seen even remotely look like Japan. So I think it'd be best if they go for something else for the actual title, which I think they will do because I don't think a film has ever stuck with it's working title.

Although, like you touched upon @AgentM72, I'm sure Skyfall always had that as its title.
It's funny that Shatterhand has been the working title for so long now and the media is now just running rampant with it!
I know right, just shows how lazy journalists are. Also, one of the articles I read said they didn't know what Shatterhand meant. Do your research for gods sake! It's your job.

I find Shatterhand very inspired as a title. Far more than Spectre.

Regarding the Bond girl rumour, I think Lupita is a great choice. It's only Malik as a villain I'm really skeptical about.

I kind of hope they don't make her a tough chick and another "Bond's equal". There's a sort of frailty in her that would suit beautifully a vulnerable character.

If it doesn't work out with her, I'd still be excited if they pick an unknown. That model looks intriguing too.

Any actress, unknown or famous, is allowed to audition for a Bond film. That's actually an old trick by Eon, as it gives them free publicity during times there's no official announcement.
If you're a model or an actress and if you want pieces published on you, you ask for an audition around the time filming is about to begin, then your agent spreads the news to various sites and magazines. Geri Halliwell did this stunt when she was out of the Spice Girls. She was never seriously considered, but it still put Bond in the news.

Similarly, most of the stuff about Craig leaving the part is dramatized with the complicity of Eon, the same it was with Moore in the old days. Sure, they could say when there's a rumor that Craig had promised them to return for a fifth entry, but some ambiguity paves the way for some fluff pieces in the press about who is the favourite to be the next 007 (Elba, Hardy, Hiddleston, Saul Rubinek), about the rumored salary for Craig should he decide to come back, etc. This time, it went a little too far with the "I'd rather slash my wrists" comment that was taken literally, but most of it is a trick to get free publicity.

Same for the singer of the song, same for many, many other things. Eon Productions knows by heart how to play the tabloids strings, so they do for free a job many studios have to pay to get.

She could do handle action scenes in Bond 25 for sure if she lands the role? I too hope she is a no nonsense villain. Only time will tell now but thank goodness we are atleast getting something fresh and new to discuss.

    Follow the formula for success
Name the film something beginning with S

    Just a little poem.

Hopefully, we get some official wording on this and get the ball rolling.

I think so too, it would really separate her from the role she had in Black Panther, and be something new for her to sink her teeth into. I was kinda hoping she was going to be our first female Sith Master in Star Wars, but instead we got a whole CGI-construct.

To be honest we’ve only had one proper action-based Bond girl in Craig’s era and ironically it was Moneypenny :D
