Directed by Sam Gold (Tony Award winner in 2015 for Fun Home), the reading is set for Sunday March 10 at 7 pm at NYTW. Tickets go on sale today, and the reading will benefit NYTW’s Artist Workshop and Education programming.

I like theater and staged readings as much as anybody. I could almost say I'm more excited about this announcement than anything we've heard officially in regards to B25. But I'm not.

In fact, shouldn't he be doing something more productive Bond-wise, like practicing his gun-barrel walk or something?

Love that he's still allowed to do stuff like this. We all know that if we were in 1964, Cubby and Harry probably would've never allowed Connery to do this kind of work outside of James Bond. No disrepect to them as producers at all, but because their extremely fast turn-around on movies, Connery couldn't catch a break.

Not true @Denbigh Connery shoot Marnie (1964) months before he shoot Goldfinger (1964).
  • So the March 4th press conference has been stalled?

I think when Ben Whishaw mentioned on April 8th, he means the Press Conference because it's not usual begins filming on a Friday.

What is clear is that the second unit starts filming on March, at Norway and also in Pinewood Studios.

Something about a press conference on Monday? Or is my translator kaput?

Nothing we don't already know. The article mentions that first day of shooting at Pinewood Studios is March 4th, but that is probably just wrong. One of the earliest articles regarding the Nittedal shoot still had the February 14th 2020 release date, even if the news of the April reschedule had been known for a while.

Regarding the CIA agent - it reminded me: Remember last year, Craig visited both the CIA HQ and the National Cryptologic museum? First thought on some people's minds was it is research for B25. If there is a connection, with any luck we could be seeing a very espionage-y Bond film here.

If Spectre had agents everywhere in the last film, perhaps Mi6 and the CIA are working together. Maybe Magnussen is a rogue agent of sorts, but that would resemble C's plotline a little too much.

but much like Mission impossible how many mi6 agents (or allies) wound up being evil in the last few films

Goldeneye: 006 was the main bad guy
The world is not enough: Electra
    Die another day: Miranda Frost
    Casino Royale: Vesper Lynn
Quantum of Solace: Gregoary Beam, Guy Haines, and the head of police
    Skyfall: Silva
    Spectre: C

so yeah not very original but considering how every bond film since Goldeneye (except for Tomorrow Never dies) has an enemy agent yeah

So we can assume that the royal premiere will be held April 2, 2020 then.

My guess: Billy Magnussen’s character is a CIA agent working undercover infiltrating Rami Malek’s character’s organization. Initially, the film treats him as a potential henchman (think Felix Leiter in Thunderball), but it is revealed that he is working for the CIA and is partnered with Felix Leiter for this operation. He and Leiter end up assisting Bond in the finale.
  • My speculation:

The "accomplice" Bond girl is probably the sacrificial lamb type that helps Bond and the villain makes her pay for it. Although they do compare her to Camille which could signify she has a big role or they just got their Bond girls mixed up.

The MI6 agent could be the main Bond girl, although I could see a lack of conflict there. They would pretty much be on the same side. I don't see them going with a Miranda Frost type after two movies of MI6 traitors.

    Nice hypothesis @AgentJamesBond007.

I think it's very possible that he might just be an incompetent agent. Inept employees, in any organisations, can be more dangerous than traitors.

Probably the week prior - the only reason the Spectre release was as close as it was to the UK release of the film is because the US release was still so far away (relatively speaking). Here it's more akin to the international/US release gap between Marvel movies - only a week.

Films release on Thursdays in Aus, so it'll most likely be the 16th or 23rd April here.

And I’m sick of calling it Bond25. Really want a good imaginative title for Craig’s last. Someone at ajb007 conjured Swannsong as a possibility. Although it’s a one word title starting with an S again, it could very well be fitting. Still hoping for something smarter though.
I would like to see the long titles make a comeback. 'Swannsong' has been mentioned here a few times before. I kinda like it, even if it's a tongue-in-cheek joke title unlikely to be chosen by EON. Entertaining the idea for one second though... I can honestly say I wouldn't be bothered one bit.

Yea. No offense to whoever suggested this, but it would be the worst title in bond history imo (films, books, etc.)

They usually try to align the press conference with the beginning of principal photography at Pinewood, but obviously they have and do shoot prior to the ‘official’ 1st day. Could be either. Depends on what exactly the Norway shoot entails, how extensive it is, and whether there are logistical reasons for shooting ASAP.
I reckon that, for logistical reasons (maybe weather?), the Norway shoot could not be postponed. Early April most likely refers to the start of production at Pinewood, so the event will probably fall in late March/ early April regardless.

Yes, my wager is they're trying to shoot winter scenes in Norway and need to get in ahead of the spring time.

I'd say the 23rd is more likely, as it falls just after the Easter school holidays.

    Term 1 = 28 January - Friday 3 April
    Term 2 = 20 April - Friday 26 June

Are there dates of release confirmed for other countries? I need to know about Japan. Which is always dead last. A month later than Korea (right next door), usually, for pity's sake. :(

Why bother going to one of the 3 most expensive countries on the PLANET to shoot a scene that could be filmed in plenty of other, much cheaper countries in Europe? There is no way this is the only Norwegian filming location of Bond 25.

These are the confirmed release dates thus far, haven't heard anything about Japan as of yet.

I mentioned this in a previous comment. Given the incentives offered the production, you'd think they'll film at a second location as well. I wonder however if the Nittedal location might double for somewhere else (as it looks like it can be anywhere), and that for logistical reasons it's cheaper to film the Nittedal sequence and a second one over here, instead of moving the production to two different countries.

That's what I gather as well. Still, it's weird that we haven't heard of other Norway locations being greenlit.
