No way. They wouldn't do that . We get a trailer way after knowing whats its called. The conference will certainly happen soon. Dont jinx it.
You actually think they will be filming into summer without us having the reveal. They like to treat bond fans with teases throughout filming, and we are sure to know the title sometime soon. Im not sure when. I hope it's april and my fingers are crossed for next week or week after.
I think a gofundme is in order!
Which town?
Gotham. Where the Nolan fanatics run wild.
Panchito Land
So Trump is indirectly killing Bond?
I agree
@Thunderfinger lets not turn this into a political thread @NicNac @jake24 @DarthDimi
I think it's already leaked. ECLIPSE.
@Ottofuse8 lets not get political on the thread @NicNac @jake24 @DarthDimi
Well all right, I'm in luck then, since SF is my least favourite of the Craig era films. ;-)
Bond 25 needs saving because it seems the production is a mess and they have no idea what to do with Craig's final Bond film. Fukunaga is the only one who can save the film because he is the only one working on Bond 25 who can both stand up to Barbara and is a capable filmmaker.
I'm afraid I cannot go with you there, sir. It looks to me like the production is currently in a very healthy state. I'm not sure they don't know where to take Craig's final Bond; rather, I'm seeing a project that is looking for the best possible swansong for Craig instead of having something trite and formulaic rushed into production.
"Standing up to Barbara Broccoli" is, once again, a ridiculous notion. There's two of them by the way, Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, and the way I see it, these are the two people who, unlike anyone else at this point, have been involved or at least been living with this series since its earliest days. @PanchitoPistoles, you keep projecting some kind of distrust on this woman but you have nothing to work with here. You have formed an opinion on Cubby's girl based on your very own interpretation of whatever gets dropped online, but you have never actually been present at meetings with her and the rest of the crew.
The only thing one might, perhaps, say about her is that she is the one who brought in Craig and she is the one who has publically renewed her confidence in Craig on more than one occasion. I see both things as very positive, however, because no matter how adamant Craig might be about certain things, how so not docile he is compared to, say, Brosnan or Moore, he is arguably one of the best things that could have happened to the series in recent times. Craig is a universally celebrated Bond and I for one give credit to Barbara for keeping her faith in him, especially in this climate where one negative tweet is enough to get actors blacklisted and directors fired.
Wasn't she the one who both hired and then alienated the previous director? Her mistake was either hiring Boyle without knowing what exactly he wanted to do with Bond 25, or her mistake was alienating him after he was hired.
Let's say she did. Who knows what has really transpired behind the curtains? Sometimes things just don't work out. Terence Young walked away from an unfinished TB. Guy Hamilton chose Superman over TSWLM yet ended up not doing that film either. Spielberg was approached yet ultimately not hired for TSWLM. As with Dalton 3 or Brosnan 5, OHMSS 2 or the early 80s' rookie Bond, we can forever debate what could have been, perhaps should have been, but never was; or we can appreciate what we will get, that is, if we like it. But it's too early now to determine whether we like a film or not if said film hasn't been made yet.
Barbara Broccoli isn't an idiot, nor does she want to scare us away. Hiring Boyle was an inspired choice. Letting him go was something she (and MGW) did for reasons of their own, reasons we'll probably learn even more about in the future. But whatever those reasons were and whether we agree with them or not, demanding her departure from the series over what you assume is a mistake, is equivalent to making a whole lot of empty assumptions.
Allow me an assumption of my own. Let's stay optimistic and imagine for now that Bond 25 is going to positively surprise us all in ways you couldn't even imagine. I at the very least hope you can then admit that Barbara Broccoli should stick around a bit longer and regarding Boyle, that it's no use crying over spilt milk. My fear, however, is that while you are now singling Barbara out as the grand evil that must be removed lest Bond faces a tragic demise very soon, in the optimistic scenario of an exquisite film, you will credit everyone else, or at least Fukunaga, for "standing up to her" and delivering a bonafide Bond film. You will call the movie "good despite Barbara Broccoli", not "good thanks to, amongst others, Barbara Broccoli." I'm furthermore worried that you will keep hypothesising what a marvellous Bond film Boyle's could have been. To be frank, I think you have developed such an irrational hatred towards Barbara Broccoli, based on what can't be more than the flimsiest of news bits they have allowed to escape from their inner circle, that you can no longer see things as they are. You crave product within a reasonable amount of time, rather than have all the fun in the world with the five decades of Bond preluding this new film. The scrutiny with which you examine and contemplate every micro-development on the path towards B25 is both astonishing and unhealthy. A new Bond film isn't like a presidential election with our lives and those of our offspring at stake. Bond is a whole bag of silly fun, a series of imperfect but highly enjoyable films, a candy store for grown-ups. Even if these recent ones have been somewhat "darker" and more serious, they are still a fantasy adventure for most of us.
Let me be clear, @PanchitoPistoles, about how much I admire your passion. You're a Bond fan, like I am, and you are willing to defend your thoughts, dreams and principles. We are both really interested in where Bond 25 is going to take us. The only difference is that I'm anticipating B25 with optimism and joy, not caring about the film that will never be but instead looking forward to the film that shall be. I'm sure we'll have lots of interesting conversations and I'm really looking forward to them as well. But I will also keep defending Barbara Broccoli as long as you are calling her out as the biggest obstacle the Bond films must remove before they can go on. :)
I have said it before, @PanchitoPistoles, you are entitled to your opinion. In fact, I did receive some rather unpleasant PMs when I spoke up against those who kept attacking you a few weeks ago. So just to be clear, I'm not attacking you. I'm merely spinning clockwise while you are spinning counterclockwise, but we're both very passionate about the film and that, above all, is what matters.
So can we please, personal opinions, biases and frustrations aside, celebrate from this moment forth that the 25th (I) James Bond film is within hours of the start of its production, and as Bond fans united, look forward to another Bond film sometime next year? Can we please stop worrying about things we quite honestly don't know will turn out this or that way? Can we please stop speculating, as others have, that this film is a guaranteed box office failure and that Craig is going to look abysmal? None of us has a future telling device in his room. We might as well put on a happy face for what's coming in the absence of any serious information, rather than enter a negative spiral just out of fear that maybe, just maybe, this film is going to leave us both shaken and stirred. And to prove that we are better than 99% of all film news websites, can we please not jump on every online rumour spawned by some arrogant idiot's wishful thinking? Let's just have some fun, peeps. That's what Ian, Cubby, Adam, Roger and many more would want us to have.
That was actually kinda funny. No need to bring the mods in.
One user on Twitter is suggesting this may mean he is doing this on the request of Bond producers which means he may score Bond25
