I don’t get why people say they won’t hold the presser without the complete cast. Neither Fiennes nor Wishaw was present at the Skyfall presser. What I am starting to suspect is that they will announce the title + cast + crew + the short synopsis without holding an event for the press. They will simply release a press release. And I would have no problem with this approach.

Also possible. There needs to be a photocall at some point, though. News outlets need fresh photos to use on all the stories they'll write about the film throughout its production and leading up to release. Much harder to market without them. Which is why I think they'll hold off and combine the two "events."

It needn't be a full "press conference," necessarily, though. I'd argue SPECTRE's wasn't. Title, cast, car, and crew reveal. Not exactly a conference, though.

And given the tumultuous history of B25's production -- frankly, I'd be surprised if they want to turn microphones over to reporters.

Exactly. What we need now is something official, that's all.

All I can confirm is that by the time Bond 25 is firmly on the road, I will have developed a nervous twitch that inadvertently starts to become visible every time someone says the word "presser".

Just speaking as a fan, I'm with you both on that one. ;)

They weren't the lead cast just supporting actors. The big exciting cast names are the villain and the Bond girls - and obviously Daniel Craig. If they can't get Rami Malek and Daniel Craig in the same photo, they'll wait.

In other news...Jamaica has been confirmed:

The twenty-fifth James Bond movie, Bond25, will have scenes filmed in Jamaica.
The Minister of Tourism of Jamaica, Hon. Edmund Bartlett, informed that he will travel with the Minister of Culture, Olivia Grange, this week to the United Kingdom to meet with the producers of the film, to finalize the agreements for the beginning of the filming and to define the areas that will be used in Jamaica to shoot the film.
Bartlett said that the talks with the producers are well advanced and said that the opportunity for Jamaica to host the film will have a positive impact on the country's tourism industry.

Also, according to Instagram posts - Rami Malek was photographed at an airport last night. Can we dream that he's on a flight to Heathrow?

Damn, @Pierce2Daniel, you really are the best internet scavenger. If info gathering isn't your job, or sleuthing, someone should hire you. Well done.
BTW, this is how I picture you:

Seriously now, thanks for the info.

Yea the fandom is going insane. I don’t think it particularly matters if/ when the press conference occurs, but I confess that the lack of info (namely the title) is starting to drive me mad, which is more of a problem with me, but...

Though it also problably has something to do with the fact that a new good bond film in theatres is a distant memory.

If there is going to be another delay it needs to be announced soon. We're nearly a year out and they will know if the film will not be ready in time.

To be fair, some of us aren’t asking for a lot. Personally I just want an official title reveal and the main casting. Who knows though - neither may be ready yet.

No idea about the validity of this source, but this article claims (in addition to the Jamaica news) that the title announcement is expected next month.

The same article also claims filming will begin next month. In other words, it’s rubbish.

Honestly my anticipation for the prezza wouldn't be as high if we just knew the title, and maybe a one sentence synopsis.

Eon must be going for a light marketing campaign on this one.

Or they wait to announce the title of the film until the release of the teaser trailer a la Avengers Endgame

I doubt it, everything worth announcing would be spoiled already by that point.

You know it could be worse, Star Wars 9 is done and filmed and we are without title, synopsis and trailer. Though it's expected on the 12th* edited ( @ Star Wars Celebration :P )

Oh, I know exactly how "hard" it's going to be. ;) On a more serious note: I am TIRED of teases. I want the marketing. NOW. Not a tease of how hard the marketing will be. After a 3 and a half year long wait we deserve some official news.

I remember in '89 the latest Bond film had an astonishingly light marketing campaign, especially in the U.S. That turned out quite well.

Actually this brings an interesting point to mind, what if they’re waiting until Endgame has had its run, or at least released? Not a bad idea from a publicity standpoint. Gives the press conference better exposure.
