Yes DAF has great dialogue. Memorable, witty, funny, hilarious.

Yeah but it's basically a spy comedy.

Not my idea of a Bond film.

@LeonardPine you don't like comedy in Bond films, but you don't like John Wick because it's a too serious film?

I didn't say i didn't like comedy in Bond films. Just not when it takes over and the film becomes a comedy.

I didn't like John Wick because I think it's dumb, has tedious repetitive action and akin to watching a mate play a shoot em up video game.

John Wick, as silly as it was, needed some humour and irony to help us appreciate it's absurd events, but since it had none, it came off (to me) as unintentionally moronic

As I've mentioned before. Shoot Em Up did it much better. It has imaginative action, its funny without being unintentionally stupid and has 3 really good lead performances.

Sorry, I just don't understand what passes for good or bad action sometimes. I thought Wick's nightclub shootout was one of the best I've seen in many years. And I don't understand how Craig in QOS, despite the shit editing, doesn't look much more physically fit than the very soft and tame fights in SF. I much prefer the Slate fight where Craig totally destroys the guy in 30 seconds flat than the more 'artsy' and 'choreographed' fight with Patrice (PTS and in Shanghai). I'm not saying they are bad, but when you go from Craig's insanely brutal fights in CR and QOS, it's hard for me to 'connect' with tame fights.

I found the nightclub scene utterly tedious with CGI bullet hits and zero suspense. Just my opinion. (Give me The Matrix lobby shootout any day of the week)

Not sure how it fits in with this discussion but I agree with you about Craig's fights in SF. Nowhere near as good as CR or QoS.

Also why I was so pleased and suprised with the fight on the train in SP. One of the best Bond fights of the series.

@LeonardPine the 2nd thing wasn't directed at you (neither was the first, everyone has different tastes) but I saw comments on the previous page about the QOS editing ruining all the action scenes in the film.

Apologies, thought you were replying directly to me.

The editing in QoS was a bit of a nightmare at the cinema but I loved it on my 50 inch TV at home!

Much like The Bourne Supremacy. It gave me a headache at the cinema. Loved the film watching it at home.

I agree the fight scene with Patrice looked way too choreographed! You see them both thinking about the rehearsed moves before they acted! it was stylishly shot, but empty. The fights in CR, QoS, and Sp were far better and brutal! I also hated that fight at the Casino, before the komodo dragons appear .Craig was swinging that case around too easily, hard to believe it was packed with money!

Yes, thank you. I love the QoS action scenes. Worked very well in the film, suited it perfectly.

I don´t understand the questionmark at the end. There´s enough room between those two films to fit half the history of Hollywood in.

It depends on the context. For a Bond film, the John Wick shootout in the night club would be utterly lacking in motivation. Why would Bond just massacre everybody in his sight? Bond never was a one-man slaughterhouse, he usually called in the cavalry in the end for the big mayhem. For a character like John Wick, like him or not (I don´t particularly), the action fits perfectly. As you said yourself, @DaltonCraig007, you find it hard to relate to Bond´s stylised fight in SF after what he delivered before.

Ralph Fiennes briefly spoke about M at the Rome Film Festival, and re-affirmed that no one knows what's going on with Bond at the moment.

Because simply nothing is going on. Eon Productions people are producing two separate non-Bond films, of which one stars Jamie Bell.

Yes DAF has great dialogue. Memorable, witty, funny, hilarious.
I always thought that myself. Some of the dialogue is clever, witty and far from being for 9 year olds. Probably the best of all the films for one liners.

Anything slightly funny here will pass for a 9 year old thingy material. It's what I call unwarranted and irrelevant snobbery. ;)

Late to the party, and having never seen John Wick prior, I must say that I share the opinion of @LeonardPine re: the nightclub scene. Was waiting for it to end.

@echo, I have never understood the criticism re: Craig and humour. From his very first film, to his last, he has always had a dry, sardonic wit. The only time I felt they were being a little cutesy, at times, was in SKYFALL.
DC is amazing when he's being snobbish (from saying he hoped Vesper gave her parents hell for naming her); to the dark humour in the LeChiffre torture sequence; to mocking Mathis in QoS (he's already forgotten)... DC handles that type of humour with ease and coolness.

There has always been humour in the DC era.

Dare I say it, but the 'humour' in the car chase of SP is certainly not what I would call dry sardonic wit. There was some of this in QOS and SF but none so egregious as that in the car chase.
