There not going to start filming B25 right after those are finished next year. They are looking at 2019 me thinks.
You should remember though that EON has a long list scheduled productions which the've shelved since 2009.

Dubai is a rich location that could be used interestingly for 007 without feeling like it coppied Mission Impossible

I agree, I just wish they journey into uncharted territory.

I don't think this means location scouting. As this was with other movie execs this seemed more of a courtesy on behalf of the government.

A car chase set in the UAE has been on my Bond wish list for such a long time. I would love to see an Aston Martin speeding through the desert highways with a fleet of super and hyper cars in pursuit. Or a chase sequence set amongst the sand dunes featuring the Mercedes G63 AMG 6x6.

This HAS to become the first Formula One racing-set Bond film. Just look at the wonderful Yas Marina Circuit architecture:

This seems all too fast and furious. Not Bond.James.Bond.
  • Bab's is a close friend of Craig is is producing Othello with him. I'm sure that Bond 25 has been discussed, but there's no script, no director, just a desire by Sony & MGM (and fans of course) to see Craig return to the role sooner rather than later. I think he will, but only after he finishes with his current slate of projects (Lucky Logan, Purity and Othello). When Craig committs to the role, he doesn't just accept the part, turn up and take a paycheck. He will be involved in the selection of the director, he'll be producing and involved in the story. It is a BIG investment of time, which is why he wanted to do something else before diving head first into Bond 25. So, my guess would be in a few months from now (Spring 2017), there will be an official statement from EON, giving a date for a release, the director and, of course, confirmation of who will wear the famous tuxedo. I think the odds of Craig coming back are very good indeed.

No, it's too grounded for F&F. NASA maybe.
  • No, it's too grounded for F&F. NASA maybe.

The racing perceived in F&F in my opinion is too 'street', too dirty, too much from 'da block'. And yes, it's bad-ass street racing.

Fórmula One on the other hand is much classier, much more stylish. A world crowded with beautiful girls, expensive champaign and billionaires like Ecklestone. And let's not forget the novel "Trigger Mortis". Bond can distance itself from F&F with that. I actually believe that it could even hurt F&F, since people like to be more associated with class than vulgar street stuff.

To me the middle east is dirty and full of hairspray and ferraris. That's what i think of dubai.

At this rate we can enjoy two MI with Cruise before we see a new 007 outing, which is fine by me as they are excellent movies in the last three outings.

It certainly isn't location scouting. That said, the fact that they are among film executives on that tour makes it all the more likely for them to revisit it in the future.

On a side note, I think Craig would be a HUGE asshole, if broccoli is producing his play, and him playing coy for a year and half and decides not to do another one.

    Yep.

But it won't happen. Guys, be prepared for a November 2019 release. It's as simple as that :-). EON is happy with that. This is obviously the most radical way on how to keep Craig onboard. And I think it will work. Bond will return in an unprecedented way in 2019 with Craig as Bond :-). Mark my words. And now...let's enjoy Othello....and many other great movies coming up :-).

2018 is looking less and less likely by the day. In 10 months, they would need to hire a director, hire a team of writers, finish a script, hire actors, secure filming permits in multiple countries, and logistify the action sequences. It won't be an easy task.

I agree, however if Craig is out they will wait until 2019, I think. If Craig would have announced after SP that he was definitely done, maybe they would have gone with 2018, but let's not forget that it's not a simple matter of switching actors and carrying on as usual.

Then hope Mendes isn't directing. After the last overhyped car chase we got I can't get excited about such prospects, well at least if Mendes decides to plague us with his return.

Have you ever been to the real Montenegro and its capital Podgorica? You'll then realize how much Montenegro in "Casino Royale" was idolized as the next Monte Carlo, Cannes or Royale-les-Eaux. Which obviously is bull-shit. Podgorica is a pretty poor city.

The real locations in Bond films are always slightly larger-than-life :-). And that's how it should be.

I've been to Cannes and i get what youre trying to communicate about Montenegro in CR but that's a bit of an exaggeration.

I hope Mendes won't return, for I fear 007 will turn into a kitchen sink drama.
