To me the middle east is dirty and full of hairspray and ferraris. That's what i think of dubai.

Have you actually been to Dubai?

Have you ever been to the real Montenegro and its capital Podgorica? You'll then realize how much Montenegro in "Casino Royale" was idolized as the next Monte Carlo, Cannes or Royale-les-Eaux. Which obviously is bull-shit. Podgorica is a pretty poor city.

The real locations in Bond films are always slightly larger-than-life :-). And that's how it should be.

But some of the less glamorous locales are also interesting too ...like Haiti.

But, in a Bond film, even the less glamorous locations take on a larger than life quality

Then hope Mendes isn't directing. After the last overhyped car chase we got I can't get excited about such prospects, well at least if Mendes decides to plague us with his return.
I can live with Mendes (although he's not my preference) as long as he makes a Mendes film, which I think he did with SF. It's when he tries to make a Bond film that he seems to run into some difficulties. He doesn't quite seem to get it. There's nothing worse than seeing someone who doesn't know what he's doing playing around over his head.

I have a feeling the next one being Craigs finale will be given a unique never before seen title. Will it simply be titled "James Bond"

If they want to go in that direction (and I sincerely hope they don't), then they should just call it 'Bond'. Everyone knows what comes next.

Please let Villeneuve and Deakins do Bond 25 , regardless who plays Bond. This is te most beautiful thing I've seen in a while

    He's already stated his desire:

Although I've had my fill with Mendes you're absolutely right; he's way out of his depth when trying to make a traditional Bond film. I just want a more exciting and dynamic director that can bring something different, unique a nd satisfying.

Never seen that article before @Pierce2Daniel. The words "I'm not very interested in dialogue" are very encouraging to hear, IMO.

This is an era where astonishingly trite and lame ass titles are the trend. I'd think if they were to go that route, they'd simply call it "James". Then B26 would be called "Oh, James".

I'm gunning for "Property of a Lady." And it would fit nicely with Bond being items with Madeline.

Me, too. It's always been my favorite of the remaining Fleming short story titles.

I'd been an advocate of Gosling for Bond for some time. I think he'd nail it. Barbara herself even said she would be open to a Canadian Bond.

Not sure whether this implies he has information to report in the future, but it doesn't appear that he has been "taken of Bond watch". Either way, I'd keep an eye out for his weekly articles.

    Interesting.

Does the "just" in "not just yet" allude to something around the corner?

    hmm... :-?

Come to think of it, I might not actually mind Gosling in the role.

I know for a fact that 2017 will be a much more interesting year, Bond-wise.

I think Bond 25 should be called "Walther," referring of course to the name of young Bond's teddy bear.

That s either underestimating Villeneuve, or overestimating Campbell.
  • No, it's too grounded for F&F. NASA maybe.

The racing perceived in F&F in my opinion is too 'street', too dirty, too much from 'da block'. And yes, it's bad-ass street racing.

Fórmula One on the other hand is much classier, much more stylish. A world crowded with beautiful girls, expensive champaign and billionaires like Ecklestone. And let's not forget the novel "Trigger Mortis". Bond can distance itself from F&F with that. I actually believe that it could even hurt F&F, since people like to be more associated with class than vulgar street stuff.

Did anyone see Felipe Massa's Williams car from the 2015 Mexican Grand Prix ;-)?

  • Martin Campbell is a hack. He’s not a particularly good film director – he’s a journeyman who relies solely on the credentials of the script. However, for some uncanny reason his sensibilities are enlivened by Bond and he directs the hell out of those movies. Campbell is a terrific Bond director.

Meanwhile, Sam Mendes is a marvellous film director – though as a Bond director he is a little hit and miss.

It’s ironic and somewhat interesting that these two notions are mutually exclusive. To direct a huge Bond production takes a particular skillset; where being an accomplished director from the indie or studio system does not guarantee success.

Denis is a marvellous choice – many in the cinephile circuit consider him to be the new Christopher Nolan – mainly as he isn’t afraid to take on genre films but always manages to imbue them with high artistry.

This guy is on a serious roll. He has been so consistent over the last few years and the rate he throws these films out is shockingly impressive. I can guarantee he is on EON’s radar, just as he is likely on Lucasfilm’s and DC’s (I can’t imagine the stingy Marvel studios would fork out for him as they essentially hire journeyman directors to executive Kevin Feige’s vision). Blade Runner will be his first big studio venture.

I hope EON grab him first. I’d love to see him come in and do his own unique trilogy within the series with a new actor in the part. I think Tom Hardy would be perfect with Denis behind the camera.

I feel if Craig does come back, it’ll be with Mendes. The thought of a Mendes-Craig reteam doesn’t get me as excited as the notion of Denis Villenueve making one of these films.
