Same model of helicopter that was used in OHMSS on the demolition job IIRC
Wonder what EON have up their sleeves ?.

The fact that it's a vintage helicopter makes me wonder if EON might be doing a period piece. I wouldn't want that, but it makes me consider it as a possibility.

It seems a bit odd that the first morsel of news regarding a new Bond film should be the acquisition of a vintage helicopter.

I can't believe how much hate and vitriol has been thrown towards Craig's Bond and Sam Mendes. There are 2 billions reasons to like them both. They've done two fantastic films together and made this franchise a tent pole, blockbuster, Hollywood force to be reckoned with.
  • I don't think there's any issue with Craig, more that Mendes has created two films that resonate with wider audiences but do not offer much replay value for the core fans.

I'm a core fan and both Skyfall and Spectre offer plenty of replay value. I enjoy them both greatly.

Hasn't Barbara and Michael both said before that Bond is always with the times and won't be a period piece character? Maybe they got a vintage helicopter because it's cheap. It looks pretty cool too for a military raid type situation also. Perhaps Blofeld's extraction from the authorities? They won't go period piece.

The Mendes/Craig paring is 1 for 2 with me. Even with some giant plot-holes I really like Skyfall and will re-watch it from time to time. SPECTRE has some interesting moments but in general falls flat and I feel no desire to re-watch it in it's entirety.
I want either a return of Campbell of some fresh blood.

Vintage is misleading, this model was originally used in Vietnam but it's still in use all over the World in various roles. Lets look on the bright side, at least they did not go down the route of a CGI chopper.
But, its being flown to Heathrow. If true, thats as cargo as, if under its own steam, it would go to much smaller airfield/heliport. So why buy an unairworthy chopper? To blow it up?

They bought a CGI chopper. You just can't see it!
