Which is Craig's favourite position in the bedroom?
    (I have no idea...)
I think he may be suggesting 20 more years, which takes us to.....

It's strange that Daniel Craig and Aidan Turner are the only ones still dodging questions regarding Bond. The others all appear to have given up the ghost months ago...

One says "I can't talk about it", the other avoids questions entirely. Strange.

Wishful thinking, perhaps even on Turner's part.

Craig is no Cruise, but I definitely think he has another Bond in him.

Yes, Craig is not a soulless closet case.

You may have just spoilt BOND 25.

    Or 26.

I always though his code name was James Bondage

I honestly believe Craig looked much younger in SP than SF. Must be the hair style. I think he could definitely come back for one more, if not more.

Don't forget, Craig also likes to get physically in shape for the role too - I believe he has a lot of respect for the franchise and character so I definitely see him bowing out of the role when he feels he is no longer convincing as the character. We really don't need to worry about a repeat of Moore in AVTAK when it comes to Craig.

Erm @SkyfallCraig did you read this bit of the article?!

That deal is now all but dead, industry sources said.

A spokesman for MGM said “MGM is in the strongest position ever and is not for sale.”

I think it depends on how you interpretate "all but dead"

"all but dead" = Unlikely to happen

I'm not an english native speaker, but from what I know (correct me if I'm wrong) all but can also mean that all can happen except for something (in this case all can happen except the fact that the deal is dead). but I presume all but dead is an idiomatic form. Good thing to learn new things :)

It basically means that it would now take something extraordinary to get the deal back on.

I honestly think they should get on with selling it. If it's not the Chinese, then let it be someone else. These problems they keep having have become inevitable dramas and side shows that have derailed and obstructed Bond productions. I'm sick of it.

As I mentioned some months back, if they go with an IPO down the road, they will inevitably be snapped up on the open market by a larger suitor, so they are just delaying the inevitable. Consolidation is the name of the game in this industry, as in many others.

    That makes two of us.

Like I said before, Saltzman really screwed the Broccolis over.

If MGm is not for sale it could be safe to say they may go cheaper in terms of locations Croatia I am guessing is cheap it's also "cheap" to film in locations like India Mexico etc. they could also cut costs for people like Craig and Fiennes by instead of paying them their full salary they split their salary but give them other roles (craig as producer Fiennes as director possibly)

again Bond on a budget can be done and not even look or be that bad.

I agree with this. Bond films can definitely be made 'on a budget'. Campbell proved it twice, and even Mendes pulled it off with SF. As long as they don't make it too cheap looking (like what happened during some of Glen's era when they had similar constraints) I'll be fine.

Could this mean the MGM is going to flat out distribute Bond 25 by themselves? And can they is the question? :-?

MGM partner up frquently with other studios and finacning entities. If EON are ready to roll on Bond 25, MGM will bend over backwards because Bond is guaranteed to fill their coffers. Sony, like-wise, want to distribute Bond (whether they will or not remains to be seen) so the only real hold-up is with EON and, maybe, Craig. I'm still hopefull that Bond 25 will go into production later this year for a release date of November 2018.

The hold up is the distributor as far as I'm aware. EON are in development.

You know, this currently predicament does seem somewhat reminiscent of how Dalton eventually came to leave the franchise, and how Pierce almost missed his opportunity. In both those prior cases, everyone was happy and raring to go, development was underway, but suddenly and unexpected a spanner gets caught in the works and things grind to a halt. Who knows how long this process could take now...

You have a point that there is still the prospect of a spanner being thrown in the works which could have implications. The longer it drags on, the more likely there is a shakeup, but I think we're still some ways from that. I'm sure some distributor will want a piece of Bond, even if for puny cents on the $.

That's good. I know EON can't execute Bond 25 until the distributor is in place but they can for sure start setting up and getting ready for Bond 25

It's the same New York Post story. Both the Post and Marketwatch are owned by Murdoch. The story has a Feb. 25 date and there's a line at the end that the story originally ran in the Post.

However, the very end of the story appears to have been updated. It probably was after the Wall Street Journal (also owned by Murdoch) said the deal was off.

Yep and with this logical proactive approach Bond 25 better not be a bs Bond movie. If ever there was a time to get the script sorted, they've had more than enough time and still have some time to get it right.
