I don't think he would have walked away but I do think he would of tried to have some of the script changed in his favor.(TWINE is my favorite Bond film by the way)
And yep Craig is BB darling. Cubby would have NEVER let any of his Bond actors have that much power behind the scenes like Craig does.
But it all makes sense now. She has stated in the everything or nothing documentary that it was Cubby who negotiated Brosnan to come him not her. So she probably was just like let's just fulfill his 4 movie contract then dump him when it ends. 4 movies in a span of 7 years just adds more fuel to the speculation that she wanted to get the Brosnan films over and quickly as possible. With Craig you can tell she wants to make sure Craig's film as good as possible hence why he has done 4 films in the span of 9 years. You can tell BBs heart was in the Craig films.
That there have only been four films in the decade that Craig has been Bond doesn't really have anything to do with Broccoli's desire to slow things down to make sure they get it right, because her heart is more into it. They made Casino Royale in 2006 and then turned right around and did Quantum of Solace two years later, the usual quick turnaround.
They set a three year window for the next one, something that had been done before (TWINE-DAD) but then had to suspend production due to MGM's financial troubles.
The only time that they were really slowing things down in the pursuit of quality was with Spectre, when they waited a year for Sam Mendes, making a possible 2-year gap into a 3-year gap.
In March maybe?
Oscar-winner Susanne Bier (who has directed BBC's new Spy drama, The Nigh Manager) has stated that she wants to direct the next Bond film.
I quite like the sound of that.
She's also made a movie with Pierce before
Yes you will. You're on a 007 fan forum. Of course you'll see it. Don't be so dramatic. If they go with a somewhat proper YOLT adaptation (with a different name, and likely different locations) I'd be interested in that.
Why?
It would certainly create a buzz. Whether good or bad, such a move would get a lot of attention.

When I see the reactions on Sam Smith and again on his win of the Academy Award, I can imagine what primitive reaction a female director would get. And now imagine it would not be a white female director.
Thinking about it, I almost hope EON will hire a coloured female director who is openly gay, just to see all those small-minded bigots combust >:)
I can imagine the stories and headlines in the British press. "This time, James Bond has a woman boss -- FOR REAL!" Or, "This time the BOND GIRL is in charge!" (Yes, that would ignore how Barbara Broccoli is co-chief at Eon, but that wouldn't stop the U.K. press.)

I really hope Craig will return. I will feel short changed if he doesn't return, content if he returns for one more and overjoyed if he does two more. I'm sure it won't happen but I think it would be fantastic if they shot two Bond films back to back with Craig before he really starts showing his age. I know it would be hard on him but I feel that it would be a lot easier if he stopped doing his own stunts now. He keeps hurting himself. Film two films back to back. Release Bond 25 in 2018 I guess, then Bond 26 a year and a half to two years later.
Just in case I forget, Many Happy Returns Mr Craig (for birthdays and Bond films :) ) for tomorrow! He shares the same birth date as twins I am friends with.
