I just have this crazy feeling Mendes will do a U-turn and complete his Bond trilogy. No source, no inside info, just a gut feeling. I think Dan is still trying to woe him back like he did to get him back for Spectre by calling him ever other day.

It wouldn't surprise me ,the way things are at the moment.

Mendes,Craig,Waltz,Seydoux, and even Batista could return !!

From the forums of awardswatch.com: "I have a friend who is getting lunch with some peeps at Annapurna next week. They seem pretty confident they'll snatch those rights. I think we're in for a Kathryn Bigelow "BOND 25"."

    Agreed. His ship has sailed.

Both he and Craig said the same after Skyfall about being no more. They know how to play the studio over £££, they deliver a high grossing movies, then say no more, then the money goes up. Sam was annoyed by the time pressures on Spectre, that was down to Sony, who may no longer be part of the situation, and even if they are it's not the same people running things at Sony now.

That's always been my view as well. Let's see how this plays out.

I still say that the chances of Craig returning are far higher with Mendes than without. Simple %'s. There would have to be something very special to entice him back otherwise, because unlike the rest of us, he doesn't live and die for Bond and he's doing a lot of interesting work these days (unlike in the time between SF & SP).

I'm pretty sure from a pure money perspective Dan is set for live. I don't think he would take the money and phone it in, so Barbara has got to find another autuer or lure Mendes back if she wants to keep him around.

Trickier than it sounds, but not impossible.

Again it doesn't take a rocket science to see bond 25 has the potential to be the meatiest script almost Shakespearean dare I say it. the hero's fight to lead a normal life but realize he never will and have to stuggle with those decisions Mendes or not If I were craig and presented this script I would jump on it!

I feel like that has all been addressed in Craig's four films already, in one way or another.

No. I don't see any good replacements so Craig is my number 1

Personally I don't think they need to lean heavily on the melodrama, quite the opposite. They should round it out with an intriguing and gripping plot. A genuine 'caper' as Maibaum always called it. Do that and I think they can steady the ship and go out on a high. If the thrust becomes personal, yet again, I fail to see it registering in any way. This is possible, even with a Waltz return. Get the audience invested in a thrilling and dastardly narrative and they won't even think twice about the personal events of SP.

Hardy seems very similar to Craig to me. Just unable to enunciate clearly.

    He's quite good in Taboo.

I forgot to mention based on patterns we can assess a few more things

    1. There will be a Casino Scene (ever other film starting in Goldeneye had one)
    2. the following actors have at least one more film in the contract Naomie Harris Ralph Fiennes Ben Wishaw and I believe Christoph Waltz

and as for Fleming there is still a wealth of material that they could borrow from to develop their story in both plot characters and of course titles so there is that (even if we go by the pattern assessed of the Craig era so far Risico for example could easily be the name of an Italian Mansion where the climax takes place.)

so that both narrows some things down and also still gives us nothing my hope is we get real news soon like Brady and a few others I am tired of Chinese whispers and fake news.

Yeah but he was probably contractually obligated to not give that away

If you're referring to the report that mentioned Waltz had signed on for two more films (only if Craig were to return), then these rumors are unsubstantiated. Waltz himself has denied being asked to return (mind you, that was mid last year).
