I'd love to see Blofeld escape, but then have to reclaim his throne after new people have swooped in to take control in his absence. It could add an interesting element to the film, and because both Blofeld and Silva viewed what Bond stands for to be a crumbling, outdated empire, it'd be a nice parallel when the man's own organization is falling apart before his eyes.

    That's a good idea.

Oh man, you had me fooled! I was thinking while I read though that it was very strange how Eon hired a new actor so quickly. I haven't seen Hiddleston act but I think he looks whimpy. He doesn't look right to me. When Craig steps down, I would love Tom Hardy to do it but I'm probably dreaming.

I really do think that Bellucci Waltz and Seydoux should all be back.

    Happy April Fools Day!

Holy crap. After the exhausting week I had my brain was just daft enough to forget that April Fool's was looming and I completely took the press release as gospel. Not cool, not cool at all. *wipes tears from eyes*

I have to say though, I won't be surprised if Craig leaves of course, so I'm preparing for the official message.

What would be really bad would be to instead have a press release announcing Craig had signed on for the next film due out in 2017..........then April Fool's.

    BREAKING NEWS:

Following SPECTRE's negative reviews, EON productions decided to remake the movie starring beloved actor Pierce Brosnan.

I've got no source for this, but trust me, I just know.

And as much as I love Craig in Spectre (it is his best performance by far) I probably would opt for the Brosnan version. That just proves that Brosnan could have made 8 Bond movies.

Craig, please come back! All is forgiven re: SP.

Yes, Mr. Craig come back, and even if it's only for another dreary snot like Skyfall.
Can't believe they have cast Idris Elba. What's wrong with BB? Giving in to popular demand?

    Not funny! At all.

Here's some good news, though, as Mr. Q himself believes Craig will return:

    Indeed.

I can't believe I was mug enough to actually go to the MI6 homepage looking for confirmation before I smelled a rat. But don't tell anyone - the Wizard has a reputation of sneering superiority he has to keep up.

I'll believe it once it's confirmed. Whishaw has also stated previously how confident he was that Craig would end up doing six James Bond movies or more, and look how that turned out.

Thanks for summary. Nothing yet ..maybe only thing to hang hat on is 3 to 4 year gap and no decision on anything yet ...no new distribution deal.

I still think that it's a hard sell. The films are expensive... needlessly.. and don't have the highest ROI.

Whishaw is speculating openly like all of us. I'm sure he'd prefer Craig return because that likely will guarantee him a role in the next one. Not that he will necessarily be replaced otherwise, but certainly all bets are off if they recast the main actor imho.

Here's the full quote from Ben:

[Wishaw] says the best parts of playing the nerdy gadget-master Q in “Skyfall” and “Spectre” were his scenes with Daniel Craig’s James Bond. Despite Craig’s “I’d rather slash my wrists than play James Bond again” remark, Whishaw suspects his co-star won’t hang up his Walther PPK any time soon.

“I feel sorry for Daniel because I think he spoke to a journalist the day after he finished what must have been an eight- or nine-month shoot,” Whishaw says. “The poor guy was on his knees with exhaustion and he said something flippant . . . All I saw, working with him, was someone incredibly committed.”

I wouldn't be surprised if this whole distribution issue involves WB being seriously considered and maybe EoN are in their deliberating phase to see how things are panning out with BvS and are perhaps considering option B as distributor....anyway, I'm sure we're going to hear something very soon.

Or maybe Disney to become serious considered to be the new James Bond distributor (as told you before) under the Walt Disney Pictures label rather than WB. Okay, fingers crossed. But it may considered to be a new distributor after all, once "Captain America: Civil War" is out in cinemas in the UK on April 29th and then it'll have it the following day or later. Do you know what i mean?

Of all the evidences and prints on the internet so far, Disney doesn't even have a slight interest in Bond.
