Not best directed, produced, or even your favourite. Best written. Novel adaption or original story.

I nominate Dr. No. While not my favourite film, I love the writing; the dinner dialogue in particular has never been topped, not even by the Goldfinger exchange on the table IMHO.

Other nominations?

Hm, hm, hmmmm... Trying to be objective and cinematically speaking... FRWL, I think.

As original stories go, I'm divided between the fun and evasion of TSWLM - counts as original, isn't it? You know, that stipulation by Ian Fleming... - and the action and drama from SF... I think I'll stick with TSWLM for being the first truly original Bond film despite its title.

FRWL was truly excellent I think, but I also believe it benefits, as a movie, from the greater production values possible following DN... as a screenplay, it may be equal I suppose... it was a tough choice for me.

The film is just filled with great one-liners.

OHMSS is the best written for me.
