Since Sam Raimi left, and whatever one can think of his take on Spidey (I enjoyed his first two, but really disliked his last one), the franchise has been going down. I am very skeptical about the future of this current reboot.

Can someone say something like "Great that Sony managed to do this...they should grab this opportunity to make Sony Pictures better again" instead of "Fuck Amy Pascal, damn Sony Pictures"?

I kinda hope that Spiderman goes back on the right track again.

Sony will have final say, but it's clear they'll get a lot of help from Marvel. Also, Sony doesn't have merchandising rights for toys. Overall, it's a good move. If Marvel can make Guardians of the Galaxy a success (one of its more obscure properties until last year), think what it can do its flagship character.

Overall, Sony made a good move.
