    Thanks for that list @RichardTheBruce.

    Every year I use to purchase the "Year In Space" calendar so I would be reminded when these key historical dates came up. And then, for some years I would always include it when putting together my friends Christmas packages (along with Frango Mints!)

    Unfortunately, the gentleman that sold the calendar stopped doing so after 2020 in order to move on to other things. I really miss it.

    One (very) minor point, technically the Soviet Union's 1971 Mars 3 lander was the first to touchdown on the planet. It, however, only transmitted for less than a minute before going silent.

    Yep. Taking the only pathway everybody discarded beforehand and make it work is increadable.
