Hello to all of our regular, loyal posters (and those who may have just joined. Wont forget you either)
This is just to say thank you for your continued flagging of unwanted threads and comments. They really do assist the moderators do their job. I know I find it helpful, especially with the advertising pests that seem to infest the forum all too often.
So, thank you, and keep up the flagging.
Hopefully one day I'll be able to give a few of these a flogging. >:)

We seem to be infested at the moment, cleaning up a couple of dozen spam posts a day. Good work everyone.

I try to flag spam as soon as I see it. With other posts, like people who don't use the edit button and keep adding posts one after another, I try to warn them first. Benefit of the doubt and all that.

May I have a small suggestion? There has to be a post approval for newly registered users for admins to see whether they are corrupt or not. I've been flagging someone who keeps registering with several accounts and advertise some illegal muscling building formulas. It's getting domestically disturbing.

Out of curiosity, where in the world do these current spammers spam from?

I think a lot of them are "bots" - I've flagged a few this morning

That's why there has to be a block where a mod reviews a post before approving it. A user has to prove his or her commitment to the cause of this forums before gaining full clearance to post. That's what I mean.

We are lucky indeed. I can already notice major improvements, muscle-wise.

    Hell!
    That rock someone kicked over.
Or to be more specific, Octopussy territory, and that place Bond hoped that he and Kara could make in the C-130 (even though it wasn't actually a C130 in the stunt scenes, but nobody really cares, cos it was so very, very awesome) in TLD.
Little spoiler on how I/we tell...
Their IP gives them away. Oh no...IP address.

On a slightly different note, I don't want to speak to soon, or tempt fate, but it is refreshing to see, that most members don't respond to these spammers posts, and simply flag them.
Replying to them only makes a member almost as bad as the spammer.
Please never reply to these types of post. Flag, and let the mods do their clean ups.
Thanks once again for the loyal flagging, and we realise it's annoying. But don't ever let it ruin your time at MI6 Community. It's not worth it.

Banning these spammers is like squeezing out turds; you try to do it on a daily basis for your health but they just keep coming back.

This seems a sensible suggestion to me - to nip spambots and trolls in the bud before they cause any major mischief. Is it feasible I wonder? I commend this suggestion to the House.

No problem at all. If you love your dog, you regularly check it for fleas and ticks. Glad it helps you mighty jedi warriors if we little midiclorians do our job ;-).
