"Thats My Boy !!"..Your proudest Bond moment

edited March 2011 in Bond Movies Posts: 19,339
When was the last (or first ) time that a scene or moment in a Bond film made you sit up and shout (or think in your head if you are a silent but deadly sort of person) or maybe brought out the goosebumpy feeling of pride in our hero..?

My latest one had to be Daniel Craig at the end of Casino Royale when he announces his name and the Bond music ends the film...

One other time amazingly is when Brosnan walked on in the gunbarrel sequence in GoldenEye.After Bond had been away for so long it was a great feeling to sit there in the cinema and see it all start up again, thinking "come on - dont let the real fans down".
Thankfully GE didn't.

Any thoughts out there in the field ?

"Welcome to Hell Blofeld" DAF. Blofeld finally put to bed, but little did Bond know.

The rescue of Stacey was quite moving as well, as was "that last hand nearly killed me...." One of Bond's best bouncebacks.

I've said it once and I'll say it again...Bond's line "Don't you want to know why?" to Sanchez and showing him the insciption on the lighter right before he sets Sanchez on fire.

mine is sort of a morbid moment in a way...

but when he finally kills Elekrta King... never once had Bond shot and killed a villainess in the films.... but after Elektra's smirk and the, "You wouldn't kill me, you'd miss me..." - then her screaming for Renard to DIVE! - Bond just hauls off a puts a round right into her heart, and the line "I never miss.." ... absolutely loved it..

The torture scene in Casino Royale is a perfect moment to show that Bond has kept with the time. I frequently argue with my friends who think of Bond as a joke, but that moment in Casino Royale signalled the return of the gritty and real James Bond.

That scene in the PTS of TND when the Admiral asks "Whats Bond doing?" and M replies "His job".

Can't believe I've never found this thread!

One of my absolute Bond Epic moments is without doubt when Bond kills Elektra, one shot, point-blank range, all Brosnan! Gives me goosebumps every time!

Bond's use of exactly the same lines when bedding Ruby and Violet in OHMSS one right after the other.

Craig to Dryden in the PTS of Casino explaining his rise to 00 status:
Dryden: Made you feel it. Don't worry the 2nd is .... (bang, bang)
    Bond: (ala Connery)... Yes, considerably

Also Craig's nonchalant response to casino barman when asked how he'd like his Martini mixed.

I'm with you on this, an absolutely brilliant moment.

Also, and this is a strange one, I distinctly remember a real buzz when I first saw TWINE and Bond powers out of MI6 in the Q-Boat. I think the music played a large part in this being a specific moment for me.

Tracy and Blofeld as Bond and Marc Ange prepare to attack Piz Gloria. Superb dialogue and a momentous piece of Barry magic.

Oh yes, I absolutely love it when Bond lights up Sanchez. Such an iconic moment!

A little one, in TWINE; a heavy tells Bond to mind his own business, so Bond, using his X-ray specs, of course, gets the measure of him and promptly disarms him. Then Bond drains his Vodka Martini. Superb. It also made me think Bond was the coolest man ever; my first Bond movie was TWINE, it had a big impression over me.

Ah yes, I love that part as well. It's pure 007 when he kicks the man's legs out from under him, pins his tie to the bar, and removes his revolver from his suit coat. To quote Georgi Koskov, "Superb, Mr. Bond! Superb!"

Casino Royale - Bond returning the the game after being poisoned, all with the killer line "that last hand... nearly killed me". Awh-yeah!!

That was mine. The hero is back from the brink of death and him checking with Vesper "are you OK?" made me so proud of him. He thought of her first while coated in sweat after coming close to death.

Also the bollocking him gives Orlov aboard the train in OP makes me love him dearly. I love it when Rog gets angry. The disgust in his voice at Orlovs nonchalance at mass death is palpable.

Certainly, that is one of my favorite villain confrontations! I love the part following when the Russian soldier opens the door to the train car and Bond simply turns and fires, one head shot for the win!

    Great thread!

When Bond defeats Grant in FRWL and says "You won't be needing this...Old Man" I get a grin and want to stand up and cheer. A great scene, and a top 5 of the series for Bond moments.

In QoS when Bond lets Yusef live, knowing Vesper wouldn't want him to, and we finally see our blunt instrument accept what Vesper did for him. And the last line of "I never left" is so damn Bondian you get goosebumbs.

The entire opening chase in CR, as well as when Bond wins the '64 DB5. I also love when Bond takes the two men's car at the Ocean Club disguised as a valet and smashes it into others cars for distraction, and then he sees them again at the bar when he is about to play cards. Their faces in that scene are hilarious.

Both Vesper saving Bond from dying when he is poisoned, and Bond winning the Texas Hold 'Em game against Le Chiffre in CR.

In TB when Bond sits amongst all the other 00s in that amazing conference room set. That is epic as hell, and it really makes it clear that the stakes are high for 007. TB did a great job of letting you know that Bond was on a very dangerous mission this time.

Yes, that may be the best scene in the film. The penny drops for both M and the audience that it hasnt been about revenge - he was doing his duty all along. Craig has got some great last scenes. Lets hope they have a good one for Skyfall.

Also in FYEO aboard the Triana when they are captured by Kristatos' men. He tries to save Melina from death by saying "let the girl go free Kristatos. And we will double anything you are getting" I thought that was quite gentlemanly.

The CR ending. I mean, thats a great way to end a film, it sends a message, "The name is Bond...James Bond".Great Craig scene. I remenber seing it in the cinema. Gave me the chills.

When Bond breaks into Ms apartement " ...your mistake will be short lived" I dont think you got that right old fellow. :)

    Last scene from QoS

The first scene from DR No

TB when he seduces Fiona Volpe while she's in the bath.

"Aren't you in the wrong room, Mr Bond?"
    "Not from where I'm standing."
"Since you are here, would you mind giving me something to put on?"
*Bond hands her a pair of slippers and sits down to watch her get out of the bath*

I love the scene where Bond is walking out of the airport in Jamaica and GE can clearly see the 2 women wanting the cab but he just doesn't give a toss and advances to get into said cab but then retreats after the women kick up a fuss about it. That was the day chivalry fell into a coma.

Connery Bond antagonising Dr.No at the dinner table, Bond on his knees and his hands in his pckets with Grant's gun pointed at him and Bond asking Grant what lunatic asylum he was picked from, Bond declaring Goldfinger's horse is better bred than GF himself, the golf game, Bond clowning Largo at his house with the talk about guns and the clay pigeon scene. Bond getting Pat to buy his silence in the steam room after the whole irrigation mess.

TB The underwater battle at the end of the movie, shark comes into shot and John Barry's music kick's into overdrive, awesome scene.

OHMSS So many great moments, the pre title sequence is excellent.

LALD crocodile sequence, love moores reaction he genuinely looks concerned when stood on the small island, slinging meat at the crocodiles.

TSWLM Shot when lotus jumps of pier into the ocean with helicopter in shot i often freeze frame that moment or play it in slow motion.

OP: dressed as a clown. "There's a bomb in that cannon." everyone laughs. So he smashes the door open. They see the countdown. That shuts them up.

TLD: "Stuff my orders, I only kill professionals. That girl didn't know one end of a rifle from the other. Tell M what you want. If he fires me I'll thank him for it."

LTK: "You earned it. You keep it." And head-butting Dario near the end!

Can we do the same for Felix?

CR: "Friend, get me one of those, but hold the fruit." Also "Does it look like we need the money?"

Some wich haven't been mentioned yet:

    "Lemme see your sircus pass."
"Damn it man I said its urgent!"

Roger's Bond getting annoyed is almost always a good Bond-moment.

Pierce rolling under the gate and over the steps, casually getting into the Beemer and driving off.

Tim posing as a waiter to get to the roof of the casino.

    "You're supposed to shoot her."
    "Well I missed!"
*hits the gas, guy falls of motorcycle*

"I think you people should find a better place to meet."

Pre credits fight. Bond tosses opponent into the tub full of water. Opponent goes for gun, Bond hurls lamp into the tub electrocuting him.
    "Shocking..."
Bond looks over at the girl as he puts his dinner jacket back on.
    "...Positively shocking."
    THAT'S MY BOY!!

    THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS
Pre credits. Woman on boat talking on the phone to her girl friend complaining about finding a real man. Bond drops in from the sky, grabs her phone.
"I need to use your phone. 'She'll call you back.'"
    Girl: "Who are you?"
    "Bond, James Bond."
"Exercise Control, here. I'll report in an hour."
    Girl: "Won't you join me?"
    "Better make that two."

    QUANTUM OF SOLACE
At Greene Planet party. Bond approaches Greene and Camille just after Greene tries to push her over the balcony.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Greene, but we have to go."
Greene: "Please, my friends call me Dominic."
    "I'm sure they do."
