The official Oberhauser poster is on 007's Twitter account.

Sorry but the new spectre posters are way more stylish than those photoshopped montages that belong in the 90s. What do we need to know about a bond film called Spectre anyway. The seeking point is Daniel Craig. They wouldn't do this with a new bond actor. He's so accepted as the bar for decades that they can pin the whole thing around him and him alone more or less.

Like I said before, wonderful photography. There's no "Photoshop-feel" to it if you ask me. Yes, they are obviously photoshopped, but the colors, shadows, wrinkles look more....real I think.

Does anyone know what Spectre translates to?
    tumblr_nwlsd26FLV1tf4ghio8_r1_1280.jpg

    And for skyfall too?

    And for skyfall too?

The title 惡魔四伏 is used in Taiwan, literally meaning "Spectre (gang) lying in ambush". And 空降危機 "crisis under Skyfall". I think the publicity team was having hard time in translating the titles to Chinese without giving away too much details to the plot.

China and Hong Kong counterparts of Spectre / Skyfall:

    China: 007:幽靈黨 / 007:大破天幕殺機
    HK: 007: 鬼影帝國 / 新鐵金剛智破天凶城

HK had a tradition in refering JB as 鐵金剛 (tid gum gong), while the character 新(new) was introduced since Goldeneye till Skyfall.

There being M and Moneypenny posters suggests they have a fair amount to do in the film. Interesting.

In The Netherlands and France they released a full one-sheet poster featuring the standee artwork (Bond in a white dinner jacket, together with Madeleine Swann). I think that's my ultimate favourite "SPECTRE" poster. And as "SPECTRE" seems to be part of a narrative 'quadrilogy', I made following mosaic of Craig's four Bond posters (well, the ones that are my favourites):

@Jack_Wade, I'll be in the minority and stretch and say that the CR teaser poster is the only truly great poster we've received in the Craig era. Haven't been impressed with SP's posters at all, SF's were nearly just as dull, and QoS - while not the worst of poster releases - were also fairly lacking.

Add me to your minority Sir.

CR teaser poster is sublime. After that it was a steady downhill trajectory.

CR Final - Not bad (depending on which version you got).
QOS teaser - Reasonable and novel.
    QOS final - Awful.
SF teaser - Not bad (although it made all the more annoying when they discarded the classic GB in favour the crappy one they used in the film).
SF Final - Ever so slightly above awful.
SP teaser - Awful. Looks like a promo still.
SP final - Really awful. This is the final poster? Seriously? Looks like a moderately ok teaser. I cant fathom why Bond's disguise he wears for all of a minute at the start of the film is given such prominence on the poster? If the film was a remake of LALD this poster might be alright but its not so its crap. Probably someone cleverer than me can come up with an artsy fartsy reason why it makes sense to feature the skull (some bollocks about Oberhauser rising from the dead/Spectre from Bond's past or some such) but I'm not having it.

By the way does anyone have any idea who designs these posters these days? Is it just a faceless committee or are people too ashamed to put their names to them? Do people like McGinnis, Peak and Gouzee even exist in the modern corporate bullshit world we operate in these days?

Add me to that list gents. After the splendiferous teaser for CR, they all lacked something.

Happy to have you boys tag along. I can't believe that they got away with those posters for SP. Blows me away how mediocre and poorly done they look.

I quite like the one with Craig and Lea, back to back in front of Craig's costume. I was expecting more, however.

I think there's a meaning behind it (haven't seen the film)
Bond's other half - Oberhauser or SPECTRE, in the shadows, watching over Bond himself.

I totally agree with you. The Casino Royale Teaser Poster is the best one. But I made the clarification because others poster they are not teasers.

@Jack_Wade, I noticed that's what you meant as soon as I started replying to you. Once you pointed it out, all I could think was "Man, now that he brings it up, that's the only poster from the Craig era I truly enjoy."

The Casino Royale teaser poster is the only quality poster of the Craig era, so I guess you can add another member to the "minority" opinion on that one.

I think the CR teaser poster is one of, if not THE, best posters in the entire franchise. Most of what followed it, including these new SPECTRE posters, have all been at the complete opposite end of the spectrum.
  • The Casino Royale Teaser Poster is the best one, totally agree.

Here are all the official posters of the Daniel Craig era.

In all honesty? I think I like the posters from the Craig-era more than those from the Brosnan-era. They have a certain darkness and simplicity. They don't give away too much spoilers/actions. And the more 'grimm' colors of the posters I really like..

Also important, the Craig-era posters together look more like a worthy quadrilogy of movies. The Brosnan-posters were all so.....different from each other.

From all individual posters from the Craig-era posters I think the teaser poster from CR and the very first december 2014 teaser poster from SP are my favorites. Then from the 'normal' full one-sheet posters, I like the CR poster with Vesper standing on the stairs on the background. And I also like the Dutch/French SP poster, on a darkblue/green background with Bond wearing a white tuxedo next to Madeleine.
