With the exception of the full QOS posters the thing that strikes me is how bland and colourless they all are especially when all laid out together as shown. Any colour you like so long as it's black over white...

In my opinion, the QOS poster campaign is the best out of all of them.

The posters are made by a company called Empire Design - Though I'm guessing Greg Williams works with them.

  • The teaser poster for each film is the best one!

I'm sure Greg takes the photos of Dan and the other actors that are used in the poster designs, but then lets other artists to use them to create a final visual that utilizes photoshop effects.

Someone asked this in another thread as a defense against the blandness criticisms:
How so? It's a tease poster. Not a trailer. How much more could they show?

to which my only response is:

    Casino_Royale_poster.jpeg

I know which one I'd hang on my wall.

The CR-teaser is indeed beautiful. It's also my favourite. But after that? Well, judge yourself:

    teaser 1 "Casino Royale":
    KJ0vap.jpg
    teaser 1 "Quantum Of Solace":
    gwK4oi.jpg
    teaser 2 "Quantum Of Solace":
    r1teZX.jpg
    teaser 1 "Skyfall":
    NmrVsM.jpg
    teaser 1 "SPECTRE":
    WpqzeV.jpg
    teaser 2: "SPECTRE":
    3hPOVT.jpg

I personally think the teasers from "SPECTRE" are 2nd and 3rd best after the "Casino Royale" teaser. No doubt about it. The ones from "Quantum Of Solace" and "Skyfall" I find bland compared to the ones from "SPECTRE" and "Casino Royale".

I'm at a real loss as to how you don't find the 2nd SP teaser bland. It's just a publicity still with the title written across the front.

The CR one is clearly the best of the lot and at least the 1st QOS and first SP ones have some sort of artistic concept behind them. The rest are pretty 'meh' and that's being kind.

    My TOP 6:
    01) teaser "Casino Royale"
    02) teaser 1 "SPECTRE"
    03) teaser 2 "SPECTRE"
    04) teaser "Skyfall"
    05) teaser 2 "Quantum Of Solace"
    06) teaser 1 "Quantum Of Solace"

Clearly you forgot to mention that my favourite teaser poster is the one from "Casino Royale" :-). And I really like the 1st "SPECTRE" teaser trailer. That one really teases, with the bullit hole turning into the SPECTRE-octopus logo.

The 2nd SP is easily the most uninspired. Looking at it next to the rest, it's completely devoid of any sense of Identity. Even a red background would add some life to it.

Your opinion. Fully disagree. See my TOP 6. Actually, I love the 1st "SPECTRE" teaser.

This is my version for the 2nd 'Teaser Poster' of "SPECTRE", using the broken glass in the octopus form of SPECTRE and paying homage to one of the posters of "Live And Let Die"

And I think that it's a a concept well visualized. If they were going to waste a whole teaser poster on a LALD tribute, they should've taken it the whole way.

That bullet hole on Bond's heart reminds me of that cheesy comedy movie "Death Becomes Her" :-P.

The 1st is decent because it has some identity. It looks even better animated. This second one, as others have said, it's just a production still with the logo. It may gain some context once the film is released, but it's still painfully devoid of panache. When I look at CR, I think 'class', QoS 'bad ass', SF 'vintage/classic, The 1st SP 'intrigue/menace' the 2nd SP 'Eau de Toilette'. I just wish it had something distinguishing about it. It's fine as a still, although it still looks like he's squatting slightly, but as a teaser poster it ranks as pretty lacklustre to me. CR is clearly the best, but even the others feel like they have at least some context.

I really liked this second teaser poster for SPECTRE, but my only complaint is that in Daniel Craig's era all the posters have been very simple, with the image in the center of Daniel Craig only.

Here, to make the comparison, the poster of Daniel Craig:

    Casino Royale (2006)

    wlpyq1.png

    Quantum Of Solace (2008)

    SkyFall (2012)

    28te3w7.png

    SPECTRE (2015)

    ;)

Assuming their will be another 2 posters to come? It will be great to compare all the posters together!

Sterling work chaps. I'm hard pressed to say which I like better. Don't get me wrong; they're still not in the same league as the CR one but at least you've both managed to transform the original sow's ear served up by EON into a passable approximation of a silk purse.

This one is great except I would've liked the Spectre and the 007 logos to be closer together and preferably not under Danie's crotch.

Yes, there will be two more posters. Usually published two Teaser Poster and then two Official Posters.

Some of those posters are not at in correct order:

From CR your second is the fift poster (Also known as Delete Scene's). Your Poster 3 is spinoff from poster 4 who is missing. Difrence is that Vesper not be include. http://www.freemovieposters.net/posters/casino_royale_2006_1206_poster.jpg
(Spinoff is used for American soundtrack release)

Your poster 4 is poster 2 (Used for Europe Soundtrack, DVD and first BD release.), but you also can say it is poster 3 because before this release there also release another poster, who first in Asia.

    casino_royale_ver2.jpg .

QOS is correct (number 4 is spinoff of course from the 3rd). From Skyfall poster 2 (Bond in Bluetux in front of Gunbarrel) is poster 3 (Bond on the ground) and other way around. My expections are that first one from Spectre wil be used this time for both Soundtrack and BD/DVD release. Whyle mabey there wil use the second for the dvd.

From Twine i have 4 posters and in 100x70, it be nice if Spectre re-introduced this format.
(Delete Scene poster from CR and Skyfall poster 2 with Bond in Bluetux in front of Gunbarrel using same format as Licence To Kill).

    007_BONDFINAL.jpgVMCWORLDISNOTENOUGH.jpg
Poster 1 is used art of Soundtrack. Poster 3 is fire girl, in The Netherlands credit with ''2 December in de bioscoop''.

    Poster 4 & Poster 2.

    Very, VERY nice.
  • The recent posters have been very dull in my opinion. The SF posters (apart from the 1st one) lacked any sort of creative imagination. Considering how visual the film is the posters are sadly very bland. What happened to the great art of the film poster? The 1st SPECTRE poster (the one with the bullet hole) is my favourite so far out of the SP posters. The poster above posted by RC7 is definately more eyecatchng with its bold colours and octopus logo. I guess any hopes of a full blown classic drawn Bond poster have long gone. Sadly. Its all photoshopped posters for the future I guess.

Back in the day the artists creating such loved artwork masterpieces as YOLT OHMSS MWTGG DAF TSWLM etc etc would likely have given a spare kidney for the set up that guys here on the forum use to create fan art.

What isn't so easy to get off the peg, as EON ably shows with the latest offering, is any kind of creativity, emotion or imagination. You still need the eye and the idea as well as Photoshop.

Everything posted online here on all the poster threads proves this with posters created by those PASSIONATE about Bond. Usually EON's photography is up to the job but the almost lazy artworks don't remotely use it to it's best advantage.

You only need to see the fantastic results feeding off the scraps found online rather than the camera of the skilled & talented photographers.

Out of interest, does anyone want busier posters like TLD again. I count around a dozen or so separate elements in this montage illustration!! Compare that with the single shot of the much loved CR teaser poster. You can't have it all ways unless of course both formats are offered in a suite of posters!

There's a point where plain hard minimalism actually gets in the way of a good and EFFECTIVE poster. If not a gun barrel or 007 gun graphic why not give a little treat to the viewer who on closer examination discovers a hint of things such as a ghostly day of the dead carnival statue, a subtle spectre logo etc.

I looked in vain for something to give a context within the new spoiler for SP and just got Moore and LALD with the antique gun holster. What really? For DC's PPK!?

Of the recent DC series there were hints of multiple themes on the CR posters but they didn't inspire or recall Bond artworks of old. If done well, I personally don't see any harm in this approach whether painted or photoshopped!but am I in the minority?

I've always thought that the teaser poster should be fairly stripped back and minimalist giving just a hint of the film - which is why I rate the QOS and original SP teasers, not to mention of course the perfect CR one - and then the final poster should be a feast for your eyes with loads going on a la the spectacular TLD one or the OP and YOLT (Bond walking upside down on the inside of the volcano) ones.

The problem we have at the moment is zero creativity. The last main poster for SF was appalling (not even particularly good as a teaser) and the QOS main poster was pretty dismal as well. And after going along the right lines with the SP bullet hole we are now back to square one with the awful SP teaser which every single person on here who has tinkered with it has managed to improve.

My current hopes for the SP main poster are, remarkably, actually lower than England winning a trophy under Roy Hodgson! I suppose with expectations that low EON can only pleasantly surprise me? Perhaps?

Did you make it @RC7? I love it really. The orange color is really beautiful on it. And quite original too. I also like the big SPECTRE-logo behind Bond.
