    Oooh, I've been there!

It's not supposed to be Turkey in the film though is it...?

It makes sense if it was. Bond is possibly fished from the water by the woman he's sleeping with (wish we ever got confirmation on that) and he recovers in her little home not far from the bridge he got shot off.

Yeah that makes sense I suppose...

In the film the location looks kind of remote, and I don't remember any bars that did scorpion balancing last time I was in Turkey (perhaps I didn't look far enough afield!)

It's a nice little metaphor, though, and it is a visual that foreshadows the scorpion of Silva being locked in his MI6 "cage" later on in the film.

If you look in the main title sequence Bond's hand is being grabbed by another; I interpret that as the hand of the woman he's with after the PTS. Just to support my theory quickly there.

That s how I saw it as well. About the hands, not the scorpion.

Funnily, watching the titles again I was more aware of the female hand this time, so it's a pretty sound theory.

I hope Bond repaid her for saving his life!

It s not the same woman. Her hands are not the same size as Bond s lover.

I just noticed how excellent Lois Maxwell looked in the NATO control room scene of TB.

I thought she looked great up to the Rog years. From LALD onwards, she aged quite noticeably. She was still a class act though. Very refined and elegant.

The biggest screw up during the Craig era (imho) was not casting Arterton as MP in QoS (they could have even given her essentially the same role that she had - just don't have her sleep with Bond, and don't kill her off). Damn shame.

Agreed. Arterton would have made a splendid Moneypenny

    :x

In fact she would have made a great main Bond girl instead of just being the 'sacrificial Lamb'
  • Arterton as Moneypenny would indeed be very interesting.

Blofeld's Cat gets more screen time, and is of far more importance, in DAF than in any of the other Bond films. It's in the PTS and it's seen all through the Title Sequence. Bond uses it's "twin" to discern the real Blofeld, only to have the original put it in it's place. It is how Tiffany Case recognizes Blofeld in drag. Sadly, it has no place aboard the Bath-O-Sub.

That makes sense, as it had built up a sort of recognition factor by then. It was its fifth film.

I just noticed how perfect Grace Jones is in AVTAK. Her and Moore had great chemistry, particularly that bit where she refuses to jump off the bomb. It's a shame those two didn't get along on set.

I was reading some random pages on a Bond wiki and found this item under the trivia for Silva's character:

"Silva's message. "Think On Your Sins" is an anagram for Your Son isnt in HK as well as an acronym for T.O.Y.S. describing how M's spies are like toys and are played until they are broken and thrown away."

What do we think of this? I've never heard this detail suggested by Mendes or anyone involved with SF, so I can't tell if it's a genuine and purposeful choice or if the editor of the wiki simply thought the connections up themselves, and the anagram and acronym of "Think On Your Sins" just so happened to hold true to the film.
  • The acronym is probably chance, but the anagram is very specific. That must have been intended.

You can find anagrams for almost anything. I doubt that was intentional. Maybe on a subliminal level.

Indeed. I think we're giving Logan and P&W rather too much credit in terms of their multi layered, deep script.

    Coincidence sounds far more plausible.

OMG. Skyfall has the depth of a puddle of water.
    Think On Your Sins.
That's a message from Cubby's spirit to BB probably.
