I always liked Stamper..shame he and Bond didn't get a proper fight.

@barryt007 each time I see the moment where Carver barks at him to 'please kill for bastards!', Stamper's facial expression makes me think he is going to fire his grenade launcher in Carver's face.

He was an angry man to be sure....talking quietly but with menace...I like his dialogue with Dr Kaufmann,it always makes me laugh out loud.

Stamper must have been on steroids.

Stamper will always be one of the great henchmen for me, solely because of that batshit insane glance he throws at Bond after he jams the knife in Stamper's foot.

Unfortunately, Stamper fell victim to the same shoddy screenwriting as TWINE. His torture devices, introduced and interesting, but why? Similar to Renard not feeling pain and "getting stronger every day until the day he dies"--that too would have been interesting to see.

While Bond pretends he is Klaus Hergesheimer in DAF, a phone call comes in for Dr. Metz. Once this occurs, in the top left corner of the screen is an assistant of Metz's who is crouched, and he turns his head to the camera: this is the IBM store technician from GE.

The German voice heard during the segments at the Hamburg airport in TND and at the Cuban clinic in DAD is seen in person during the shot where the two men enter Carver's print works.

What a great spot! Can we get a screencap of that? How could you tell?

IMDB helped me out on that one; there's no way in hell I would've ever caught that on my own and put two and two together. I was scanning through the DAF cast and he looked familiar, so I looked into his filmography and sure enough, it's him.

Here's the only screengrab I could find of him, albeit rather fuzzy:

As I said, he's crouched, working in the top left corner as soon as it's noted there's a phone call for Dr. Metz.

When Dalton says "A farewell to arms" as he hands over his gun at Hemingway House in LTK.

Others may have noticed earlier, but it took me five viewings!

That's an amazing find, @Creasy47! Never crossed my mind that the IBM store guy from GE would join the list of actors who've appeared more than once in a Bond film.

    Goldeneye: Pevsner Commerzbank, GmBH

    SPECTRE: The "Pevsner" Hotel.

Two nods to associate producer Tom Pevsner.

Dalton delivers the line with all the subtlety of a sledgehammer. It's a wonder he doesn't look at the camera and exclaim "D'YA GEDDIT!!!!"

I just did a side by side comparison. Fascinating.

Indeed. Like someone else mentioned a while back, we'll be finding bits of trivia and connections like this for years, I'm sure.

There's a photo somewhere of Dalton reading The Old Man And The Sea in between takes.

The balcony was open during my visit. wp0_wp0_wp0_wp0_wp0_wp0_wpc5778b92.pngIt's also essential to ascend the nearby lighthouse--though I guess it's not the actual one the sniper fired from. 56761927_Zkjg868p5grTQpj_DfmcMJ8y4amRlpf5QdAS2VBPvZU.jpgNow if I can just get to the Barrelhead Bar.

Just noticed that one of the funeral patrons in TWINE is the same guy in the casino bond inspects with his x-ray glasses.

Well, they're not likely to comment on name inspirations but the connotations are there nonetheless. Fields is "in the field." Others like Elektra or Goodhead or Honey Rider are obvious.
