So there's more continuity between OHMSS and DAF than I thought.
He looks pretty bored in the Sumo Wrestling scene....
I think @Birdleson mentioned that once.
"You've never been to Japan before?"
"No, never."
Just lifeless.
But he's just going off script.
There's reading a line, and then there's feeling it. The actor is needed to make something notable of what's on the page.
Well, the series he'd been with was shooting itself in the foot in front of his eyes, so if I was him I wouldn't be happy either. He hated how far removed the films were getting from what they used to be, and he thought he still wasn't getting compensated anywhere near what he deserved, which isn't untrue.
There's no way for any actor, even Connery, to make that weak final act kick off. It's just a badly written face off with a hero and villain, when it had to be the coolest moment in the films up to that point. YOLT in that way is a pale imitation of the glory that came before. They got all the other villains right, but the big one. Damn.
I've noticed that his voice is slightly different too. It's almost as if he had a cold and wasn't feeling well the whole time or something.
Never connected the two, but as soon as I read it, I knew exactly what you were talking about and can picture it now. Well done.
;)
Such as eat soup, watch soccer and motorboat Rosita
Interesting..i didnt know that either..nice one !
When Bond heads out from massaging Pat with the glove at the clinic to track Lippe and co, he puts on long sleeves and rolls them up. Later, as he comes across Duvall, there's a shot of him unwrapping the man's bandages from above and he's got the sleeves down again.
After beating Largo at the casino, Bond is dancing with Domino, but has to say goodbye. Felix can be seen behind him at this moment, and in the shot that follows where Largo and Domino walk off screen, in the far right you can see Sean turn and talk to Nutter as if the take was over and they were unwinding. I can't tell if this is the film showing us that Bond and Felix now know of each other's presence in the Bahamas, or if we are still to treat their hotel meeting as the first time they get in contact. It's possible this moment isn't a continuity error or gaffe, however, and Bond and Felix are speaking about a meeting the next day at Bond's place, which just so happens to occur at the same time the room is being invaded by one of Largo's men. I prefer to think this is the case, for the sake of my sanity.
A last fun bit of self-referential/prophetic dark humor in TB's script: As Bond throws Quist out of his room following the failed infiltration, he compares the man to a fish and says he's throwing him back in the water. When Quist then returns to Largo to report on Bond's movements, the villain feeds him to his sharks like you would a fish. I like that double-imagery.
Never seen that before! Great spot @Master_Dahark !!!
Regarding the Mexican elevators, I believe I read that LTK and SP use different but identical-looking elevators at opposite ends of the same foyer in that hotel.
