Sorry kids. No Raven game this year.

I just happened to come by this article, which debunks the existence of Raven software 007 game. Seems we won't be having any of that this year. Maybe by next year. Even if by then. Kinda saddens me.

But the good news is that I only need to spend my money on one 007 game this year. Yeppee!

There are too many games coming out this year to need another one on my plate: Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Goldeneye, Dead Island, Rage, BF3, MW3, Arkham City, Skyrim, Saint's Row: The Third, and I'm sure a few more I'm missing.

    Arkham City

Yep! I've got to get that one. I loved Arkham Asylum. What a fantastic game!

@00Beast, so did I! And Arkham City can only be bigger and better.

Exactly. The screen shots look really promising! I also like the new villain additions. According to various game magazines, The Penguin, Two-Face, Catwoman, and Professor Hugo Strange will all be included! And finally, we'll see The Riddler in the flesh!

There's going to be so much ass to kick, it's insane. I can't wait.

Yep, it sounds really BEAST! Hahaha. Couldn't resist.
I'm loving what I'm hearing about the new cape gliding system and the new story, which enables you to go on separate "mini missions" if you want to go away from the main storyline.

@00Beast: Sounds very awesome. I haven't read up too much on it lately. I just figured there was so much that I could do with Arkham City that I would never be able to read all of it. I'm going to pop that game in on Day One and be blown away by everything to do.

What about Uncharted 3 @Creasy?! Show some love! Goldeneye Reloaded, Batman AC and Uncharted 3 will make my wallet very sore. My birthday is coming up so hopefully I can save enough $$. Game of the year 2011 will be ruthless. Too much brilliance!!!!!! $-)

@Creasy and @00Beast, you both seem like big Batman fans like me. Here is a link to the Comic Con panel for Arkham City featuring Kevin, Mark, Dini, and QoS's own Stana Katic! It has great coverage, and I was actually able to concentrate and absorb the news. It was hard. You can see why:

@0Brady, wow, she's beautiful. Uhh...what were we talking about, again? And as for Uncharted 3, it looks amazing, I just haven't had the money to play the first two, yet. I bought Uncharted 1 used a few months ago, played through about half the game, then had to return it because I'm cheap and I needed the money. Hopefully I can finish it and play the second before the third is released, as I'm sure it will be amazing.

I think this game will either be scrapped or maybe we'll just get a Bond 23 tie-in next year. And that better be great, it's not like Activision haven't will have had the time to work on it...

Personally, I thought the QoS tie-in was fun. The MP was very, very addictive. Got it over Christmas and spent my days playing it as much as I could.

@Creasy47: Same here! I enjoyed Quantum of Solace a great deal. I got it back in November for the Xbox 360, and even though I don't have Xbox Live, the single player was very satisfying! I felt like I was in CR and QoS!

I hope it'll be a Bond 23 tie in. Like Nightfire, released about the same time as did DAD, and it also had an original story not related to the movie. I hope this is the case.

QoS was fun. Fun but lacking in so many things.

@00Beast, yeah, it got a ton of playtime from me. Shame that the community heavily died down on it.

@Creasy47: Agreed. Even if it is heavily based off Call of Duty, I don't care. QoS is an excellent 007 game!

Absolutely, @00Beast. Felt like a good mix between Rainbow Six: Vegas and Call of Duty - the fast-paced, addictive fun of CoD, including perks, and then the team-based cover action of R6:V.

It's the most fun I've had in any of the fps Bond games. It was cheer fun to "danielcraig" a foe aka hitting his lights out in close combat. Even if it was done with a single button press tactic.

But it lacked in stealth (even if there were parts using stealth), many scenes missing from the movies that could've been turned into a gaming sequences... aka no driving or embassy levels and such.

I remember playing Bond Evasion on QoS online one time, and I was Bond. One enemy left. I killed someone previously, and was just having fun going into cover and teabagging - a bit childish, yes - but it was very entertaining to see Craig teabagging someone. Lo and behold, I turn the corner, and there's the final enemy left, teabagging one of my dead teammates. I run back, teabag the initial enemy a few more times, turn the corner, and kill the last guy. It was perfection. The lobby just cracked up in laughter the second the match ended.

@Creasy47: Awesome story! Sounds like you had some fun!

@SharkBait: Yes, the single button pressing takedowns were very satisfying, regardless if they were done simply. However, I don't necessarily think they lacked in stealth. The beginning of the Science Center Exterior, Science Center Interior, half of the Miami Airport, and half of Casino Royale were all stealth, depending on whether or not you chose to be stealthy. Also, I agree with you about the missing levels. The lack of vehicle levels really hurt the game. Where was the Madagascar Embassy? For all the shoot-out levels, you'd think this would be a must! Also, I think the game was hurt by the lack of QoS levels. Most of the game was CR, which was fine, but where was QoS? What happened to the fight with Slate, the boat chase on the docks, and the airplane dogfight?

Yep. Apart from those it was a very fun game and I'm thinking of re-purchasing it. I'm cheap, so I sell most of my games when I buy a new one in gamestop. QoS was one of those casulties...as...*sigh* were the Uncharted games which were bunch of a fun too!

So do I, @SharkBait. Recently traded in Socom 4 for credit. Spent the credit, and now I want Socom back.

I can't really resist games like LA Noire. When game like that comes out, I tend to sell all my games that I've played to death. I must've played QoS tens of times. LA Noire only once.

That's what I did with LA Noire, and was sadly disappointed. The car mechanics and gunplay just felt archaic, and the missions became repetitive instantly. It was an okay game, just upset I blew $60 on it.

@Creasy, LA Noire was great for me until the story kept gaining(especially at the end) ground it had never crossed on and at times became annoying and unthought and caused me anger. The game is great when investigation is the name of the game, and the Black Dahlia cases were just plain kick ass. That's what will keep LA Noire from GOTY status. The game when it came to the story didn't know what it really wanted to do for me, and chose to make Cole come off as a bad guy. He always seemed to be shouting at important witnesses and does other things(NO SPOILING HERE)that I thought didn't fit his character. I sadly hated him by the end. Anyway, I still recommend it if you can get past the last plot points.

So the game this year is the same as the game last year. I liked QoS alright (although it was obviously not given any sort of priority), and actually really enjoyed Blood Stone, but I hated the Goldeneye 007 for Wii. This really, really irritates me. So an entire year's worth of work on a Bond game amounted to a port of another game. :-S
