When i saw that, i thought "Is this possible to be done in real life? ... Oh damn i don't care, Timothy's Bond is great!"
Like many fans, I wish he could have done GE instead of a certain "pretty boy". I just wish some reviewers and fans would lay off the film. It's pretty darn good.
I rank LTK in the top three of the Bond films.
I agree. I think I have it a four, but it's certainly in my top five. Just having watched it for the first time in a loooong time, I can't believe how many years I missed out on this gem. I know it gets knocked for not having a Bond feel to it, but I feel like it has everything. I was surprised how far it jumped in my rankings.
True. The truck up on it's side too! When I was watching it I was wondering how many takes that took to pull off. If Brosnan did it I would've said, "Pffft, come on..." (Though in Brosnan's case it would probably be CGI).

My own thoughts after a more recent viewing is that, while Kill has some excellent elements and is enjoyable, it's just too "dark" and perhaps more importantly "American" to feel like Bond - despite the fact it takes a fair bit from Fleming. Something about it's tone and style just feels a bit off.
Some of the photography is poor too which doesn't help. However Davi and Lowell are both excellent. Dalton is good too but there are a couple of scenes which feel a tad too "dramatic" shall I say
For me it's currently a mid ranking entry.
Shame the titles are a bit naff. How is the whole "camera" theme connected to the rest of the film? (other than Q giving Bond a gaget camera which we only see in one scene).
Your "off the grid" expression @gelimaurk kind of enforces my point about the "American-thriller" vibe the film has.

But that's vague. By that logic we should have seen a similar one with mobile phones (Sony Erricson of course) by now.

I recall a fair ammount of looking at phone screens in CR. Might not have featured in the title sequence, but still.
As for the thread title, a few short years ago, I would have said yes, very underrated. But like Lazenby (albeit at a slower pace), Dalton is starting to get the appreciation he deserves.
This review pretty much sums up what I didn't like about LTK from the beginning and why after all these years I still struggle to enjoy it as a Bond movie. There was something so darn cliché about a druglord as a villain, and the hero motivated by revenge after his friend got murdered (or, in this case, maimed). It has some great action scenes, the Bond girls are beautiful, Lupe Lamore is actually a great character... But I always had the feel that it was a Miami Vice episode with a British guy.
Total agreement. The two movies couldn't have been much more different from each other, and I SO appreciate it. If I want a touch of the classic Bond- TLD. If I want pure badass Bond- LTK.
My DVD is the collector's addition so my box art is different , But...Is this License to kill DVD art for real ?

No, it is vice versa. The horrid LTK cover was made for the new Blu-ray/DVD releases, while that CR poster has been around since before the film even hit theaters.
