Rockstar are annoying me not releasing new details about GTA V. With Max Payne 3 we'd already had 2 trailers by now. They told us we'd get more once Max Payne 3 had been relased but it's been almost a month, and now E3 (which would've been a great time to drop some info) is over.

If they do want to release it this year then it's probably time to release some more details, or at least a 2nd trailer, to get people more hyped up. I'm having a hard time getting excited when I know next to nothing about it.

I'm fine with no news on GTA5, because when it comes I'll be all the more excited. I have faith in Rockstar more than any other developer, and I know that when you just give them their space they make masterpieces.

GTA V news should be along soon. They stated in February that they would have a huge reveal 'in the coming months,' and I do believe there is a gaming convention that takes place in the coming weeks/months that Rockstar typically attends, so we may hear something there. They are almost always absent from E3, so it was no surprise, then. I just hope they are further along than expected, and the game releases in October of this year.

But, with that, it's already June, so they would have to release the information any day now, and start with the little introduction videos like they did with GTA IV, MP3, RDR, etc. I see it coming in April or May of 2013, and if they need that time to make the game better, by all means, please do. I was heartbroken to hear they delayed GTA IV by six months, but the wait was most certainly worth it, I felt.

    Here's the Halo 4 live-action ad:

    http://www.xbox360achievements.org/news/news-11992-Miss-the-Halo-4-Ad--Don-t-Worry--We-ve-Got-it-Here-[Updated-with-Screens].html

Oh, and someone appears to have found the 'release date' of GTA V, just did some looking around. Seems to be the same phony stuff they pulled with the trailer: "This song was released then, and the street address of the house is this, so the release date for the game is this!"

Someone found a MP3 ticket (I believe it's in game) where the only things underlined on it are the date (October 15th, 2012, in Portuguese) and an acronym (GTA), which appears to be part of a bigger word. Pretty unique, but I think people are spinning stories too much after the first 'easter egg reveal date' that was concocted from the trailer.

The song used in the GTA5 trailer appears on the radio in GTA4, so I don't think that means anything.

I'm more annoyed that we know next to nothing about Rockstar North's 'Agent'.

All we know about it, is it's setting. That it was put on ice in playstation 2 cycle of consoles, revealed again in 2009, said that it's been under work since 2007, and yet, by 2012 we know a zilt about the game. All we know this game is said to be in production but really skips too generations of game consoles. If Rockstar won't even release it, I'd hope they'd come clear and not tease me with this game that may never really happen. Even if they're saying they're working on the game. But since then their main effort seems to have been GTA V, and I'm pretty much lost any hope regarding seeing a finished 'Agent'. Rockstar North seems to be all about GTA.

@SharkBait, happens to a good amount of games, sadly. Alan Wake was originally slated to be an open world game that would be a release title for the Xbox 360 debut, and it took five or six years to come out. Dead Island was announced in 2006 or 2007...then silence for years, until its release last year.

We'll probably get GTA 6 before Agent is released.

I think Agent will be finished, but you must understand it isn't a twinkle your nose effort to make these games, especially games with the level of detail and complexity that Rockstar is known for. They have Max Payne 3 out, are working on getting GTA5 ready, and after that I figure Agent will be their main focus.

I hope so. That would be the most original thing from Rockstar since Red Dead Redemption, and even that was not made by the mainstudio Rockstar North. Only produced and looked after...and....

Agent sounds like that open world Bond game some people are wanting Rockstar to make. Well, at least it has an agent, a secret agent. Maybe not Bond, but still an open world espionage inspired game from Rockstar! Can't wait...

It wasn't that original, because Red Dead Redemption was actually the 2nd Red Dead game. The first was Red Dead Revolver (nowhere near as good), on ps2.

I know. I own both. Red Dead Revolver feels nothing like Redemption. It actually feels more like a Capcom game, like it was in the beginning, before Rockstar bought the rights.

I was thinking more like original in their catalog of open world games. Bully was the one original open world game from then in the ps2 cycle.

Bully was on ps2? I got it on 360, was it a remake or something?

@thelivingroyale, it was, and they just imported it to the 360.

Bully came out, and then the next gen console version was made, the Scholarship edition, with slightly beefed up graphics and a few new missions.

I picked up Hitman: Blood Money the other day, and am going through it on Normal difficulty now, attempting to get the 5 Silent Assassin ratings on Normal difficulty achievement. It's so intense, because I only get seven saves per play through now, so I really have to use them. The hardest difficulty one will be the worst: no saves are given, so if you screw up at the very end of the level, you'll have to restart said level, shooting for the SA rating. Already 1/1 now, working on the second level.

First look preview at Splinter Cell: Blacklist:

Graphics look great...but it seems that even Splinter Cell is getting away from its stealth core aspect just like MGSR. hhmmm, the need for a real stealth game is upon us.

PS why change the voice? The voice kinda makes or breaks a character as far as I am concerned.

It just feels like every game is the same anymore, with the only ones sticking to their roots are the ones getting copied in the first place. Stealth games lose the stealth, FPS games all rely on CoD, etc. It's really annoying. When I think of Splinter Cell, I think of Ironside's Fisher, full gear with NVG's, using stealth to beat missions.

Oh, and I know we haven't spoken about it in a while, but I played the demo for Sniper Elite V2, and wow...AMAZING! Graphics are great, controls are fluid and easy, and those killshots make every hit feel wonderful. I think I'm going to pick the game up some time in the near future.

A highly favourable 9/10 review for Lollipop Chainsaw...

    http://www.destructoid.com/review-lollipop-chainsaw-229321.phtml

Never once does Lollipop Chainsaw even attempt to take itself seriously. Its protagonist is overly sexualized to such a comical degree that it feels less like genuine perversion and more like the product of a miniskirt-fetishist on a mescaline binge.

    [snip]

As a piece of entertainment, Lollipop Chainsaw is something truly memorable -- shameless, camp, idiotic, and so very enchanting. As a game, it is a celebration of the arcade era, an era when games felt free to be outrageous without worrying about being taken seriously or making even the vaguest lick of sense. As something to review, it is not deserving of the dread I wrote about at the beginning of the article. As it turns out, trying to describe Lollipop Chainsaw is half the fun. Talking about it is a joy. Playing it, even more so. It's one of the straight-up dumbest games you will ever encounter, but at the end of the day, it proves one thing ...

Just because something is dumb, that doesn't mean it can't be brilliant.

I was going to buy this game no matter the score, but i'm surprised of the 9/10 score. I was expecting it to get a just above average 7/10. Roll on Friday.

Lollipop Chainsaw sounds like the sort of thing I'd enjoy. I might buy it.

Doesn't the 360 version already have Achievements (their real name)?

@oo7, I'm playing it on the 360, and earning achievements. Trust me, I used to be a big-time achievement whore, and recall which games do and don't have achievements or trophies. You can't even purchase Blood Money on the PS3.

Ubisoft outlines the mobile functionality of 'Watch Dogs':

Also, here's another short 'Splinter Cell: Blacklist' trailer:

Why just those three? Why can't Edios bite the bullet and put the first Hitman on a console? Some bald guy with a barcode on his head should pay them a visit.

And all three probably won't have trophies. I'll be shocked if they do.

Sweet! The perfect chance to finally play all of them. I wish there would have been an HD release of the 2 Max Payne games before 3 released.

Why wouldn't the collection have trophies by the way?

It just seems like anything that is an HD collection, original, or added to a newer system lacks trophies: Oblivion, Condemned, Max Payne 1 and 2, GTA: SA, etc.

Even when the PS3 did the five-year anniversary of Oblivion, they couldn't add the trophies, for some reason. It irks me.

for a disk based game of all three i think you can count on trophy support. so this is a year where you could earn 4 hitman platinums
payne 1 was a rerelease of the ps2 verson digitally, if they want to go back and hd that verson and add trophys they will in time. after going back to that again i cant say i would be too fused about playing it another time.
gta series is set for a rerelease but might only get the ps2 treatment, after all gta 5 is just around the corner.
condemned and oblivion are pre mandatory disk based trophy support, that came in around 2009 i think.

btw who is excited about Fist of the north star kens rage 2?

I got Max Payne 1 free with my purchase of 3, so I will have to sit down and play the thing one of these days.
