Looking at Rockstar's past games, I think we all know May 2013 will be the release date. Following Max Payne, Red Dead and that lot.

People just couldn't get out of their heads that a May 2013 release was possible because the whole GTA timeline follows an October release, excluding 'GTA IV,' which was pushed back to April. Weirder things have happened, and it does seem they're going for a May release date for their games, which would be nice, as I'll be fresh out of college again and ready to spend as much free summer time to play it.

People think it will be out in October? That's two months away! It's far too late for that now. I do think we'll get the date this year though, so it can be marketed as the first big game of the year.

People still lifelessly cling to hope. It's not going to come out in October, and that's a fact. May or October of next year is the most probable solution, with a possibility of it being a next-gen release, apparently, as the new Xbox is rumored to be out by next Christmas.
  • Some of the weapons in that article have been in past GTA games, so they're not all new.

All that stuff would be cool (except maybe enhanced car damage, the cars were already easily destroyable in GTA IV), but I think it's fake, like Creasy said, there's been no reports like that anywhere else.

As nice as the car damage was in GTA IV, it could be leagues better. I didn't like t-boning a car at 100+ MPH and putting a slight dent in both our cars. I want to see the car I hit bend in and go skidding down the road with me. I want to see me nip the back of cars and have them flip a few times down the road. Perhaps it isn't more realistic, but I would like to see things that are out of the movies, too.

In 'Crackdown,' you could shoot a vehicle's tire, and if it was accelerating, it would spin and flipped. I loved it, I could do that all day.

    'Skyrim' Patch 1.7 is dated:

I can't see it as a next generation release but that last big one of this generation, yes, there's a good chance of that. I'd be shocked if it was out October 2013. It has to be May, that's five years after the last one too.

Now that I put things into perspective, I still, to this day, play 'GTA IV' like crazy. At this moment, I'm playing it. So what happens if it doesn't come out until May or October 2013, and the Xbox rumor is true? That means I'm given either seven or two months to play it, and if it's going to be out in October, I would hope it would just be a next-gen release. I just want it soon, is all.

I hope the next Xbox has proper backwards compatibility with all the 360 games.

Next-gen, next year is too soon. Is anyone, in the current times, going to have the money? I won't. The ten year plan, meaning 2015 or 2016 is far better but I know I've said this before.

I agree. I hate shelling out money for a new console, and there's nothing wrong with the current gen, the graphics and everything are fine the way they are, I honestly don't think it can get much better.

@Samuel001, some documents were leaked on information for the new Xbox, and Microsoft confirmed the details. In it: the new Xbox is going to be 8x more powerful than the Xbox 360, and it will sell for $300. Now, I don't buy that whatsoever, but I'm not sure why they just wouldn't deny it, if the information is false.

Will Sony do the same? Or will they be last to the party again and launch in 2014? It didn't work last time...

I believe they said they were working to put out the best possible console they could, without rushing anything. Being first seems to work, though, as the majority always want to make the jump and see the new changes. I remember being in high school when the PS3 was released, and hearing everyone talk about how much money they had to spend on getting one. Insane.

I waited for the PS3, to save up money and bought it on release, so it works, if you plan. I'm in no hurry to be the first on the bandwagon.
  • I got a Wii when all the next gen consoles were being released because it was cheapest, but then I got a 360 with Assassin's Creed for Christmas the next year. Then in 2010 I won some money on a bet so I thought I'd get a ps3, which only lasted 2 years (f*ck you Skyrim!), and now I'm back on my old 360.

Personally, I don't want the next-gen. What can they do, besides make us shell out more money for something that can't really be that much better? If the next-gen is right around the corner, I want one thing: more console exclusives. This generation had sh*t for console exclusives. The Wii led the charge (thanks to motion controls), but the PS3 was a very distant second (thanks to the Uncharted series, Metal Gear Solid 4, and Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition).

Console exclusives are a thing of the past I feel.

The Wii U is up first and out this year. I can't believe it, really, I can't. That is only six years after the last Nintendo console.

You know what I would like to see? One company, one console. Have it incorporate all different things about every system, different controllers, all of the games, all of it one same service. That way, no game would ever be totally uninhabited, and everyone could play together.

We'd all love to see a "Master System", but Sony, MicroShaft and Nintendo would never agree to it. Well, Sony and MicroShaft would never agree to it. I fear it won't be long until Nintendo joins SEGA's ranks and becomes a game development studio only, putting out no more consoles.

If the Wii U sells as much as the Wii did, I doubt even Nintendo would agree to join.
  • The Wii U looks crap from what I've seen of it. Graphics basically the same as ps3 and xbox, the touch pad seems like a cheap gimmick (you can't even use two of them for multiplayer), I don't think it will sell that well.

Battlefield, eh. That is the only game I'm after. Battlefield 3 that is. As soon as I'm able to find it for £20, I'll buy it but no luck yet, even after 10 months!

I was so excited to see something new for 'GTA V.' Not only that, but we are getting even more screenshots at some point by the end of this week. I can't wait.

Has anyone played Sleeping Dogs yet? You know, True Crime 3, that isn't True Crime?

It's meant to be very good, so I'd be interested to hear what people here think.
