Be incredibly wary if you plan on purchasing 'Doom 3: BFG Edition,' as installing the game to your console renders 'Doom I' and 'Doom II' unplayable:

I'm going to assume this doesn't apply to the PS3 version?

I suppose it only affects the Xbox 360, as - from what I can recall - you can't install games on the PS3. Again, I could be wrong on that.

Anyone have any upcoming games they're getting in the near future? After the fun I had with the beta, I'll be picking up 'Medal of Honor: Warfighter' next Tuesday, just paid off the last few dollars of it the other day. I paid off the last few dollars of 'Assassin's Creed 3,' today, as well, and that game has me incredibly excited.

I also need to put another $50 or so on 'Halo 4,' and re-reserve 'Hitman: Absolution' closer to home, so that I may pick it up during Thanksgiving Break.

I believe that leaves me to check out 'Far Cry 3' and 'Dishonored' as Christmas gifts, and I'll be done for the year. I already have a very large backlog of games I need to get to.

Most games have mandatory data install (it doesn't effect load times, however...)

I want to pick up The Walking Dead Video Game when the disc version comes out in December. I'm a huge fan of The Walking Dead, both comic book and TV, and after I played the demo of the game, I knew it would be exactly what I wanted out of The Walking Dead.

Neither Halo, nor Hitman interested me past one game apiece (Halo 1 and Hitman 2). I found both to be solid games, with weak stories (specifically Hitman, mainly stemming from Agent 47 himself, who I found to be boring).

I was never a Far Cry fan (1 seemed interesting, but 2 did not) and Dishonored confused the hell out of me (Victorian-era London settings with magic and robots?! What the f*ck?!).

I'll probably be passing on Black Ops II, and once I give Medal of Honor a look, I'll try Warfighter. The Zone of the Enders HD Collection was a purchase I was going to make, but I decided to shelve that in favor of Resident Evil 6 (good game). I think, at some point, I'll probably get Colonial Marines, but game plate is, right now, full of older games that I'd like to buy.
  • I'm looking forward to Far Cry 3, Assassins Creed 3 and the new Aliens game.

Assassin's Creed III may well be the only game I intend to buy this year. I love the series and this actually looks good unlike so many other games' follow-ups. Maybe I'm getting old but so many games have left me cold, as of late.

I'm just expecting for GTA5, each picture they release is better than the last one. I just expect that some weeks before the release they just say that the characters on that trailer weren't any spoofs and was just normal people; i'm getting tired of seeing people saying "omg, that's CJ!!" "Could this guy be Tommy Vercetti?" "Is that guy Niko Bellic? let's discuss about that" it's Annoying. No way Rockstar would put them in a game Again. If they were on it, i suppose it would be a Surprise.

Nice to see we managed to bring this thread to 1,000! Glad I created it.

I somewhat gave up on 'GTA V,' mainly because of the heavy lack of news, and in one month's time, it will have been one year since the release trailer was released, and that's it. I'll get excited again when the massive reveal hits the web and we start to see more footage and (finally) see a release date.

I never worry. I know with Rockstar, time equals perfection.

@0BradyM0Bondfanatic7, I never worry when it comes to Rockstar, either, I just don't find myself excited for 'GTA V' when I know so little. Like I said, when a big reveal is, well, revealed, count me in. It always ends up being my most anticipated game of the time being when that time does come.

The only game I was worried about with Rockstar was Max Payne 3. I just figured, after so long out of the game (so to speak), Max might be a tired character now, but Rockstar surprised the hell out of me, and we got a game not only almost exactly like the previous 2 (I read so many reviews that stated the game was nothing like the previous games), but leaps and bounds better (however, I do feel that the latter half of Act 1 drags a little).

GTA4 on the other hand, angered me. I was very disappointed when I found myself walking around a Liberty City... with almost nothing to do but the main story. It was so boring. I loved doing all the odd jobs in GTA3/VC/SA/LCS/VCS, and they were just... gone. I can only hope that all the good stuff from the PS2 era games returns for GTA5.

'GTA IV' is my favorite game of all time, but I agree, @Agent007391: there just wasn't much to do in the game but hanging out with friends and collectibles.

GTA IV was a big disappointment. It wasn't bad, but they removed tons of the stuff they'd used in the ps2 games that made them great. Just Cause 2, Saints Row 2/3 and Sleeping Dogs have all beaten GTA IV imo.

Max Payne 3 was cool. Better than the 2nd one imo, but I prefer the first game.

LA Noire was fun. Well I made it fun. I got bored after a few cases so I decided to be the worst cop ever. I drove on the pavement, caused tons of destruction and accused everybody of lying. But that was down to me. Playing the game like I was meant to got boring fast, and story/character wise it wasn't great (Phelps was an arsehole)

Red Dead Redemption is the best game they've made on the current consoles by a mile. Amazing game.

I had so much fun with all of those games you listed immediately before 'GTA IV imo.' Such entertainment behind them, and that's what made me enjoy them so much: the variety of activities.

I enjoy LA Noire, but when it hits the arson section and the story takes more importance over the detective gameplay, I get frustrated. The last time I played the campaign I quite at that point. The next time I pop in LA Noire, it'll be in black and white, and I'll play it Bogie-style. B-)

Did anyone pick up 'Medal of Honor: Warfighter' today? I did, and am pretty disappointed with my purchase. I recall the beta being a lot more fun than this: mediocre graphics, beyond generic gameplay, and these are usually things I would instantly notice when playing a game for the first time. Who knew.

I plan on getting as many single-player achievements as I can, spending a bit more time on the multiplayer, and then trading it in for a reserve on 'Far Cry 3' or something.

Omigod, that screen totally changed my life!!!

    Like hell.

Gimme some f*cking gameplay already. This is getting annoying just getting a screen or two every four months.

I'm getting sick of the marketing, as well, but at least the ending of the video confirms the big reveal will be out next month, which is one year after the first trailer. I do hope it's a big reveal: no more teasing, no more BS, just more trailers, lots of information, and a release date, which will more than likely be May 2013.

I cant believe no one is talking about the fact they said they were looking into making a bladerunner game as well

Great news, everyone: Game Informer's December issue will be the reveal (I suppose?) of 'Grand Theft Auto V.' It will be 18 pages long, and will hit newsstands on November 16th. The digital issue will be available on November 8th. Looking forward to it!

It will have new screenshots and tons of information, apparently. I doubt it will contain a release date, but hopefully with this, we inch closer to the release date. If they are shooting for May, this is a great way to amp up the poor marketing thus far.
