I'm looking forward to this too but will buy The Last Of Us first.
I remember when I said that I wouldn't buy the game because I wasn't interested in playing as three characters. Months later and a few gameplay videos later, and I am as excited as I usually am for a GTA game.
As for all the release date fuss, how silly.
Will Grand Theft Auto V have a knock on effect with Call Of Duty this year, I wonder.
That I do! :)
One month and two days left now, and as usual, the weeks will fly by unnoticed and 'GTA V' will be here faster than I expect.
The thing with 'Ghosts' is that so many people that talk trash and complain about it will still pick it up this year, and with it hitting both current and next-gen markets, I'm sure it will make just as much money as ever. I wish it wouldn't, but it will. It's just a $60 gamble I want no part of.
I can't recommend The Last of Us enough. The gameplay is nothing new; a mix between Resident Evil/Metal Gear Solid/Uncharted, but the execution of it is fantastic and the story and characters is what makes this game a near masterpiece. It's simply stunning.
Who was actually looking forward to The Last of Us for its gameplay? Very few trailers I saw for it even showed gameplay, they almost all showed off the story.
They really have raised the bar once more thought with The Last of Us when it comes to story, character, dialogue, acting.
I'll buy it when Black Ops 3 comes out because then it'll be £20. That's what I normally do with these games as I don't think £40 is a fair price.
This game is sooooooo going to run my life when I return home from campus on weekends....
I've come to terms with the prospect of not having a life for two months straight once this game is released.
My career will be firmly on the line. Hello, sick days.
Yeah, seconded. It is games like this one that make me force myself to leave my gaming system at home while I am on campus. If I didn't I would never do anything else but play it night and day.
I don't know if anyone noticed, but 'GTA V' is released on September 17th, and the online portion of the game will be released on October 1st. I'm guessing it's so people will be more inclined to initially check out what the single player has to offer, alongside letting them work out the kinks of the online in that two-week time frame.
Interesting, and not a bad plan. Though, I always buy Rockstar games for the campaign/story, so that doesn't matter to me. Nobody does it better.
EDIT: Here's a slew of 'Call of Duty: Ghosts' multiplayer gameplay videos. Just looks EXACTLY like the past iterations. Even the death animations are the same! Pisses me off. Don't praise 'new features' and a 'new engine' if things look that similar:

:D
You and I both. I already have it paid off for the XB1, and I'll be buying the Premium service for it as soon as I get the chance. BF4 beta will be out early October, as well.
Sadly, I've got too much on the back-burner to even think about buying BF4 right now. Not to mention the neglect I'm giving all of my other games to go through a series playthrough of Resident Evil (a friend inspired me to do so).
How is are they not being different enough? The jump from Revelations to Assassin's Creed 3 was massive in terms of how much stuff they added and now they've changed the formula completely by making the naval bits a major part of the game, as well as improving on the last games shortcomings and again adding new features.
I'd say they're more different than the latest Call Of Duty games and the playstation 2 GTA games were.
Peeking at some of me old posts, were ye? I said this a long time ago (long enough ago that I forgot I said it). Yes, there was quite a bit of difference between Revelations and AC3, but from AC1, to AC2, to Brotherhood, to Revelations is just so similar, with so few enhancements and additions. Especially between AC2 and Brotherhood.
It was on the last page, I'd just skimmed over it before.
I'd say there's a massive difference between the first and second game. 2, Brotherhood and Revelations were similar but I didn't mind because the story was enough to keep me interested, and jumping off buildings and stabbing people never gets old.
Yeah, but didn't I say it somewhere like three months ago?
To me, the only real difference between AC1 and AC2 was the change between Altair and Ezio, which wasn't enough for me. I liked some of the gameplay tweaks, but in the end, the games were still too similar. And as far as AC2/Brotherhood/Revelations was concerned, by the end of Brotherhood, I was so tired of playing as Ezio, I wanted someone else. Revelations bored me so much I never even finished it. Ezio was okay in AC2, because I actually liked his revenge story, but then came Brotherhood, where they - say what? - gave him yet another revenge story, just for the sake of giving him a revenge story!. I was way more interested in the Borgias in Brotherhood than I was in Ezio.
AC 2 added more than enough for me. They added money and shops, side missions, the town you could upgrade and earn money from, more mission variety, better combat, armour and weapons to buy, etc; as well as introducing what I thought was a much better protagonist.
