'GTA V'? I'm jealous. So many different countries already have it. No matter, the morning will come soon enough.

Well, it's out over here now, too. Is it reasonable to ask for a month without spoilers on MI6? Most people are in university/college here and too busy to beat the game in short order. Two weeks, at least?

Well said, mate. In the age of the internet, it is nearly impossible to enjoy anything unspoiled. I can't count the amount of times I have lost interest in seeing a film because people openly spoil huge parts of the plot in even their article titles. It's a shame.

I've heard people talk about flying through the game and beating it already (those who got the game a few days before release). I don't really intend on flying through the game, but if it happens, I think it would be fair if we all use spoiler tags. It's common sense and common courtesy, but we'll see how long that holds up.

I'd really prefer refraining even from spoiler tags for at least a week or two. Those often get messed up during formatting, someone accidentally erases a [ or something and the forums get an eyeful.

Fair enough. Well then, to those who beat it and truly wish to spoil the ending, let's wait until October 1st, when the online is released for 'GTA V.' Even then, you should still use and ensure spoiler tags are working.

    Good news:

Could this be the next release for Rockstar?

@0BradyM0Bondfanatic7, perhaps. They also talked about wanting to do a sequel to 'Bully.'

That would be cool. Some of my finest gaming memories are playing Bully for long hours on my PS2. The cheats in that game were absolutely insane.

There seems to be real interest in doing another at Rockstar:

Why it wasn't a massive hit for them I have no idea, as it is a brilliant game. It is slightly more toned down than what they usually create, but it still has very mature content.

I only got around to playing the Scholarship Edition on the 360 a long, long while ago, but I remember having a whole lot of fun with it. Really entertaining.

This isn't a piece of upcoming game news, but I saw this just last night and loved every minute of it:

It is a beautiful piece focusing on the career of Rob Wiethoff before, during, and after voicing the legendary John Marston in the equally legendary Red Dead Redemption. What is possibly most special about it is just how close the man is to the character: a loving, caring family man who would do anything for those he loved. Hats off to Mr. Wiethoff for setting such a brilliant example.

That was one of the most beautiful things I've ever watched.

Rob's left a permanent, indelible mark on video games. Years, decades from now, people will still be talking about John Marston and about Red Dead Redemption. I have nothing but admiration for his decision to stay with his family when, after Red Dead, he could easily have just done game after game, film after film. Instead he has that sole performance, in my opinion the greatest in the history of video games, as a permanent legacy. May he have many, many years of happiness with his family. Absolutely have nothing but respect for Rob Wiethoff.

Seems there's more than one game this year where the story involves a big heist.

This looks fantastic. Honestly think it could be one of the best games ever.

I'm rather disappointed with AC4, it seems that the modern day portions will be shorter than in the previous games, and that's the part of the series I like the most. That's part of the reason I haven't beaten Revelations.

That DLC looks cool but why announce it now? The main game isn't even out yet FFS.

Anyway I predict that Edward will die at the end of Assassin's Creed 4 and his friend will take over the ship. We know he's not around at the beginning of Assassin's Creed 3 and it seems weird that they'd focus on his mate for the DLC otherwise.

You're honestly the first person I've ever met who holds this opinion. Funnily enough though I read this today

So it seems the modern day stuff is there if you want it.

@thelivingroyale, because they have to solidify the fact that they want to get as much money as possible from you.

I like the conspiracy elements, not so much the butchering of history involved with the Old-School Assassins, though I liked the Subject 16 puzzles you had to find in AC2 and Brotherhood.

Check out Xbox360Achievements.org, and you'll find a lot of people who prefer the modern day sections. At least when I first read this article: http://www.xbox360achievements.org/news/news-16323-Assassin-s-Creed-IV-s-Modern-Day-Sections-Can-Last-Between-20-Minutes-and-5-Hours.html

I don't hate the modern day stuff. I like Danny Walace and Kristen Bell and some of the Desmond missions in the last game were quite cool (although it was stupid how enemies still used a modern day handgun like it was a flintock pistol).

But I just always thought it was a bit pointless really. Thought it was a clever twist during the first game but I got a bit sick of it. These games have let me play as a Renaissance James Bond, a Native American one man army and now a Welsh pirate assassin, each one with a fantastic new open world to explore.

So why would I want to be pulled out of this historical world of parkour and face stabbing to play as one of the blandest characters I've ever seen in the present day? It's like they were looking for a reason to have us playing as the assassins when we didn't need one.

The new Battlefield and Batman games are doing the same thing. Sad really.

@thelivingroyale, it's pretty much common for games these days.

Had they given Desmond more screen time, he wouldn't have been a bland character. I still feel that the series should have been the historical Assassins for 1-Revelations, then, when we were pretty much set to take the fight to the Templars in AC3, that game should have been entirely modern day, and we should have been able to do the kind of stuff we did in the historical periods but in the modern day instead (imagine the stealth required to pull a guy off a roof, but without alerting people in windows with smart phones recording video, which the Templars could have used to get the public against the Assassins, aiding in the goal they had for the Pieces of Eden), with that game ending the series.

I don't think an entirely modern day Assassin's Creed would work well. The historical settings/stories are what makes the series stand out. You'd have to have modern day guns, you'd have to have cars, etc. It wouldn't feel like Assassin's Creed to me. Plus can you imagine climbing skyscrapers? That'd take forever.

I think Assassin's Creed 3 had the right idea. Give Desmond some time in the spotlight with him being a proper assassin in 2012 but still have the bulk of the game set in the past. I enjoyed the Desmond missions in that game, base jumping, assassinating someone during a UFC match, etc. It was fun.

    Desmonds ending was shit though.
with that game ending the series.

I don't think they'll ever end the series any time soon, it makes too much money. And to be honest I'm glad. I really like these games and as long as they have new settings to use I don't think they'll ever get stale. They could keep going for decades.

I'm getting Zelda tomorrow. I'll be neglecting FIFA for a bit.

Why would any intelligent being pick a sports game over a Zelda game?
