@WillyGalore, you bet. It's a team based game, yet they removed Squads with "plans to implement them in early 2014." It makes it impossible to play with friends now, and with the Server Browser not working and session joining broken, it's worthless. Even the core gameplay is just bad, no idea how this went so downhill. Going to trade this in and just debate what to do with the XB1. I'm getting so tired of disappointing games, and spending $60 on a game that has so many problems, glitches, and bugs. I should get my money back for stuff like this.

This is why I wait. So few games are worth $60 these days, and the ones that just might be are so full of bugs and glitches that it's a much better investment to just wait a few months, get it at a reduced price, and watch the patches roll in. Then comes the games with the DLC that you just might want, but don't want to pay the price for, so you have to wait again, because there just might be a GOTY or similar edition in which you pay a reduced price, get all the DLC, and all the patches.

This generation of gaming just hasn't been worth the prices you have to pay, and the next gen certainly won't change that, because game publishers know that we'll keep buying them, and enough people will pay full price, and that alone, to them, justifies releasing sh*t games for full price.

@Agent007391, you couldn't be more on the money. I talk it up, but don't follow up with it, finding myself disappointed game after game after game. I'm just really impatient and hate waiting. I should do this. Just keep with old, used games that I can return and get things a month or two later with a reduced price and lots of patches waiting for me so I don't have to keep experiencing such disappointments like this.

I heard Batman: Arkham Origins was having some issues with lost saves and bugs, so I am glad I still haven't gotten it. It is still one I very much look forward to.

Same with 'Battlefield 4,' only people are losing their entire SP saves.
  • Assassin's Creed, Zelda and FIFA. Those are the games I always buy day one because I know that I'll get my moneys worth.

Everything else I normally wait at least a week or so for so I can read reviews and see what people think of it to make sure I'll be getting a good product. In the past, if I was really looking forward to something and it got bad reviews, I'd think "it can't be that bad" and I'd decide to try it out for myself. But I learned my lesson with that when I bought Aliens Colonial Marines.

I would be more worried about not getting a Batman game day one if it was an Arkham City sequel (because a lot could be spoiled), but since Origins is only a prequel I'm not as concerned about it, and will play it when I have the time. I'm not any less excited about it though, and will likely get it sometime around Thanksgiving vacation or early December.

@0BradyM0Bondfanatic7, I know how you are with Batman, but you should wait until Christmas Break. I always try to find one great game to enjoy over Christmas Break: snow outside, wrapped up in a blanket with some coffee at my side, long gaming sessions all day with one fantastic product. Did it last year with 'Far Cry 3' and really enjoyed myself. The year 'Quantum of Solace' came out on the 360, I got it for Christmas and told my buddy how entertaining it was, and we must've played it for a few days straight.

And Origins is actually set on Christmas Eve, so that would be a perfect game for December. ;)

@0BradyM0Bondfanatic7, it's begging to be played then. Save it, tease yourself, and live in the moment then! ;-)

With the release of COD: Ghosts just a few hours away, is anybody seriously considering buying it?

I've already read online from people who have played it already that the single player campaign only lasts a little over 4 hours. Given that MP will hardly have altered from the last COD offering and the game is still running on the same engine as the original Modern Warfare (2007), £40/$60 seems like an utter rip off.

I'm not even the slightest interested in any COD.

With all the talk of the Arkham Origins, i've got a craving for Arkham Asylum.

I'm going old school tonight. Die Hard Trilogy, PS1 style :-)

Ah, the memories. That was the first PS1 game I bought. I didn't like the second Die Hard Trilogy as much as the first.

I'll be interested in reading what the overall verdict is but I doubt I'll buy it. The last game - Black Ops II - was the first one I didn't play. It's all so samey to me now and I would have hoped the new cosoles would have meant this new Call of Duty was a step up in many areas.

Yeah, I've seen a good bit of people who have already gotten 'Ghosts' and they said it's the same: terrible spawns, you die immediately, etc. Lets me steer clear of it without having to play it. As I've said before, I'll get it used down the ride because I beat all of the CoD games on Veteran difficulty, and I'm sure I'll dip my toes in the MP, but since it's going to be the same as every other iteration, this is a big pass for me. I won't spend a penny on this that I can't get back in a week.

Same here. First game I got with my PS1 too. I've kept on to it after all this time. "Bye bye bad guy!" ;-)
  • I have Die Hard Vendetta on the ps2 and I thought it was quite good. It was a first person shooter and you can take henchmen hostage which was quite a cool feature. Willis wasn't in it obviously but they did a good job of making you feel like John Mcclane and the bloke who played Al Powell gave his voice (why is he not in the films anymore?!). The baddy was Hans Gruber's son.

I'll buy it this time next year when it's cheaper because I like the campaign (I'm crap at online multiplayer). My mate will buy it (the sole reason he owns an xbox is for COD and FIFA) so I'll probably play it a bit round his house at some point.

It is? Wow, I didn't even know. My life has grown so much darker because now people will be playing it.

None of this is any surprise. It would surprise me if the campaign was longer than 4 hours. I'd be amazed if the multiplayer changed any. If COD ever jumps engines, then that means that Activision is under new management, because they seem to love the Modern Warfare engine to death.

(Okay, I'm correcting myself, they seem to like the Quake 3: Arena engine to death, because the Modern Warfare engine is just a hopped up id Tech 3. Yep. The engine that's been in service since 1999. Fourteen years ago.)

Oh man. 'Ghosts' was released tonight, so I hoped on a few forums and I LOVE seeing these 'die hard fans' complain about the same stuff every year: horrible maps, spawns, damage, lag, etc. The game has literally been out (where I live) for less than two hours and they've already written it off. They'll continue to play it (while crying about it), and then they'll trash the CoD series, only to turn around and buy it again next year. People are absolutely clueless.

Considering games publications are usually fawning over a new COD game, it would seem this latest offering isn't going down too well. Reviews are fairly mixed. I haven't bought a COD game at full price since MW2 (and what a letdown that was). I'll steer clear of this. I can't stand playing COD online anyway so for a very short SP campaign, it's not worth the money.

@WillyGalore, couldn't agree more. I read some big store in the UK somewhere has close to a few thousand trade-ins already, the most trade-ins of a game on its release day. Hilarious.

That's what happens when you treat your customers with contempt. Maybe this sort of backlash is whats needed for Activision and Infinity Ward to pull their finger out and take the time to develop something new and exciting.

@WillyGalore, I wish people were smart and managed to avoid this. I'm having a field day going through forums, reading everyone's trials, tribulations, woes, sorrow, and bitter stories involving the game. They should be clued in: it was the same thing last year, it'll be the same thing next year. Stop. Wasting. Your. Money.

Well I saw the first Super Mario 3D world commercial on television. I'm so excited to play it with my best friends. :)

Hopefully, Ghosts has taught enough people one valuable lesson that has been true since COD2: COD... COD never changes.

To coincide with the PS4 launch, it's been announced that 'Uncharted' is coming to the PS4:

I hope the new game is worth the wait and they have a good story to tell. I believe it or not, would not be against the series being left alone now before it's ruined.
