Lol this.
Big Yes for Dalton!
Definite NO! for the other fella!
I love how people here are always fighting each other defending their favorite Bonds like they were their lawyers or something. =))
I honestly don't have a favorite Bond, i appreciate all of them equally, as each one of them were perfect for their respective times.
Good observation. I just question the people they have helping them, especially when they repeat themselves.
Indeed. I love all the Bonds equally. If I were to state a preference I like to say Connery and Moore are tied for first and the others are tied for second place. That includes Niven and Nelson. That way no one gets ranked last. They all brought Fleming's creaton to life, IMO.
That's what i was thinking, a trilogy about a veteran Bond would be great imo.
And yes, i know SKYFALL exists, but...
It's more likely to the direction they're going for, for example, Insomniac's Spider-Man managed to reinvent, and at the same time, mantain the original essence of the Spider-Man Universe.
Great example and game. Highly recommended for everyone to play.
I wonder if we could ever get Benzedrine Bond with his drug problems in a PG-13 package, they haven't ever explored that (though he's quite the self-medicator in CR, QOS, and SF, I think intentionally).
It would be cool if they committed to the new Bond having The Scar, and the first movie has a plot where Bond is ultimately found out because of it. Then for movie 2 just say he had cosmetic surgery to solve the problem going forward, and so your actor looks prettier. Or he gets the scar in movie 1, it's used against him in movie 2, and it's gone by movie 3.
I once dreamt up a Bond-reinvention plot based on the book cannon of YOLT where James Bond is already dead, but for some reason MI6 had a mission that requires Bond's DNA validation, so they go recruit his estranged son, Jimmy Suzuki, from Bond's affair with Kissy. The movie ends with Jimmy accomplishing the mission and finally accepting who his father was, and calls himself Bond, James Bond. But this way you get some diversity with the actor as well, in an organic Fleming way. In theory they could do this with the daughter from NTTD, they already set up the DNA stuff.
The drug use is explicit in SF, and Silva even calls it out. Not sure what the modern equivalent of Benzedrine would be--probably some sort of energy drink!
Genius to think of the scar idea. I was surprised they didn't use it in CR, honestly.
I am looking forward to a stripped-down Bond in Bond 26. At least, no Vesper (and no Tracy), no everything tied together, no Madeleine, no daughter...please, please, they need to give this all a *rest.*
A Bond woman from Interpol.
A henchman who uses a mechanical-assist suit to enhance their strength.
A good-natured villain that goes too far, perhaps regarding climate change.
Bond leading an army finale again.
Q. in the field a lot more - he's a pilot now? It would be lazy to kill him, so don't.
No Felix Leiter until movie 2. Bond should be established on his own first.
Felix Leiter movie introduction should require US as a setting.
No major action sets in London.
Tanner is a bad guy - maybe a multi-film arc.
Moneypenny is a smart, resourceful, intuitive aide-de-camp for M., sits in on meetings, delivers intel reports and insights. She should be written like Miranda Frost's early office scenes, or TND/TWINE Samantha Bond scripting.
No DB5, anywhere, for like two movies at least.
Bond needs to be resourceful, bring back the grapple watch or belt, cell phone tricks, handheld emp emitters, smoke grenade pen, i don't care, figure it out.
Cool modern Walther. Minimal machine gun fire from Bond.
Let's see Bond infiltrate a facility in way that teaches the audiences 10 different ways to silently kill a guy, you know?
I want to see a NEW MODERN BOND. Modern car. Modern gun. Modern clothes. When he's not in a suit, he should be kitted the hell out with cool stuff. Give me at least one sequence with Splinter Cell Bond.
Decent ideas. Some of these ideas are in Double or Nothing.
Would also be funny if he was a bit old school and couldn’t get his gadgets to work at the right time.
Another Villainess named King? Seriously? Please get new writers!
They were probably foster sisters.
