That’s a neat way of being passive-aggressive, 😂.
Haha I'm just making a point, and disguising my observation as a monologue.
Right, like I said: you’re being passive-aggressive, @DewiWynBond , 😂. You obviously know no other way.
But if you’d like to make a point, you can always ask me, publicly, or via PM, without having to “disguise” your intent. After all, I was assuming, until now, that you’re of a mature, adult age and adults can disagree and discuss, without being passive-aggressive and “disguising” “observation as monologue” (whatever that means).
Anyways, if you truly wanted an answer, you could read the various threads and see I’m responding to Mendes. I’m not too polite about it anymore, but I’m directly responding.
But I fear that my observation about you, is that you didn’t really want an answer, you wanted to powder-keg whatever you think is going on, IMHO.
Nice chatting 👍🏻.
And I doubt there will ever be reason for me to do so in the future.
So I’ll politely ask for you not to engage with me. It’s obvious you like to antagonize, and this really has no value in my life. So please, take your passive-aggressive games and play with someone who likes to waste their time as much as you do.
As I said, nice chatting, but I hope we both never have this displeasure again.
Good luck in life, Dewi! 👍🏻
Considering the ongoing strikes, it'll be even longer before an announcement and start of production.
I wanna see you call Nolan a victorianesque prude after Oppenheimer.
For the sake of clarity, in your opinion what was the point of NTTD? What point did @Mendes4Lyfe miss?
Yes huge agreement there: they're way sexier than most Bond women because they show some intelligent inner life. Give me Lucia over Domino any day of the week, as she's an intelligent adult person making her own choices.
Really? Why? I mean, I love Nolan. But I do think he is a bit of a victorianesque prude, all brain. And I love most of his films just like that. And even though I think he wouldn’t be quite perfect for Bond, I’d like to see a Nolan Bond. I’d be really happy if he was announced as Bond 26 director. But I still stand by what I said about him being a bit frigid obe the sexuality field of things.
But you left me a bit curious with your comment. What can I expect? A torid scene from Blunt or Pugh? A single sex scene? A single passionate kiss, perhaps?
By 'point' I thought you meant a brief, succinct statement. I'll take a pass on looking back through your threads. Nothing personal; just too time consuming.
I think a good and perhaps obvious approach for the next film would be to go back to an espionage/spycraft angle, against a Soviet-style or communist-style backdrop. By that I mean don't necessarily use Russia or other specific nation, but invent a red star state like they did in the PTS of Octopussy. Of course, that was an unnamed South American country modelled after Cuba.
We see a lot in the news espionage-wise, whether it be the invasion of Ukraine; Chinese spy balloons shot down over the US; ASIO's 'hive of spies' involving fake Russian diplomats etc. I'm sure a few of the stories out there can be combined to create an intriguing plot.
It’s time for a tense casino scene again, and some proper stylish espionage like the Gumbold safe scene, or something else, exotic and properly stylish with horns playing in the background ;)
Absolutely. That bit I think a person like Nolan would nail it.
Me neither. But it could work if done in a proper retro SAS type of intervention, and in contrast to a more stylish and suave portion of spy work.
Majesty’s had a pretty great battle at the end. Having the Union Course go against Piz Gloria guards was a nice, more smaller scale version of those giant army vs army battles.
Agreed about Majesty's! It's a great finale, I really liked that one! The whole raid and all.
Also, Octopussy with these female assassins versus Kamal Khan's men.
Then Thunderball in that underwater battle, if not for the editing, would've been better!
And the Liparus battle in the third act of The Spy Who Loved Me (although it's a bit plodded).
There's four at least, with that Army vs. Army finale in the Bond franchise, so, for me, seeing that kinda bit rare really, depends on the execution really, Majesty's and Octopussy got it right.
So, yes, I'd liked to see some of that.
