While I saw MR first in cinema a few months after its initial release and all older 007 flicks in double bills at my local cinema. FYEO was to be my first premiere 007 movie. I went up to LTK to the 007 movies on the first night. Ever since GE in the first week and this year the first week with both my daugthers.
Another large anticipation was Lord of the Rings 3 years in a row and then the Hobbit 3 years in a row.
I also remember my large anticipation with the first four Star Trek movies in cinema. The starship porn in the motion picture made my eyes water.
You weren't excited for QoS?
I may have been most excited for that. Obviously CR was huge, but because of how good it was it raised my expectations for QoS.
Ditto. It's also why it was my biggest disappointment of the era. You could say CR set the bar too high in some ways.
On re-watch (and with the knowledge of SF and SP) it's risen in my estimation. But after CR it was pretty jarring.
I was desperate to see the Dark Knight finally make it to the big screen and this looked dark, serious and visually fantastic.
Trouble is when I finally got to see it I'd already made the film in my head! From all the movie stills, the soundtrack and trailer I'd concocted a Batman film that was a damn sight better than the one I was watching!
Where was the excitement? The action seemed tame and unexciting. There was too much Vicky Vale and not enough Batman! Batman was a tough vigilante, not a lovesick drip!
I came out of that West End cinema seriously disappointed!
I saw it again a few weeks later at my local fleapit and liked the film a lot more. But I have never let myself get over excited about any film since!
Have always loved the score!
Very reminiscent of The Simpsons.
Times. Independence Day: Resurgence for example :(
Talking about 2 of those VHS are part of limited edition of Tomorrow Never Dies and Goldeneye include bonus video too. Together with Dutch releated elements of the movie and won 2x2 tickets Tomorrow Never Dies whas heaven as a starter. I bought the VHS of other 16 movies in 1996. Have seen all Bond movies since GE in cinema and bought big part of soudtracks between 1999 and 2004 with moost in 2001 when i bought moost SE dvd's.
I also stil have some of my other none Bond VHS video's like Fantasia (1940), The Rock (1996) and Jurassic Park 1 & 2 and Dumb and Dumber. Jurassic Park 1 & 2 i also bought on dvd.
I bought The World Is Enough as my first dvd and Mission Impossible 2 was my second and moost expensive two (fl. 59,99 (€ 27,50) and fl. 69,99 (€ 31,50).). Mi2 i also have seen in the cinema. I collect all 4 movies from Twine and special poster. Todate Twine is Bond movie with moost posters released and all be in my collection. Together with GE, TMND and Twine also moost watched Bond movies. Mi2 an been at this list too of lot of views.
Watched Spider-Man on my 22th birthday and also bought 2 disc SE dvd very fast for € 24,99. I also pay around 22 € for Speed (1994) 2 disc SE dvd.
Because of delay of Die Another Day (who i watched on release date of 9 January 2003) i watched one of two movies who be reasen for this delay: Harry Potter 2. Also that one i bought in weak of release. Also collect couple of Potter posters from first and second movie.
Con Air. The teacher let us watching a second movie in the cinema after disapointed Jackie Chan movie.
I collect the James Bond car collection. SE dvd's cost me moost till i started with this. Something like this never be so big released in The Netherlands in my time.
Mission Impossible 4. I bought Limited Edition BD for € 12,44 in 2012. Normaal price was € 14,94 but i get 2,50 off the price. Stil € 12,44 is more then i pay Iron Man 2 who is also 3 dic but not limited. It take til May 2013 before i bought new tv. But it was also first movie i watched and those days it one of my moost expensive 11 BD's who cost more then 12,44 (€ 12,44 - 15,00). Another one of those ten is The Lorax, is 3 disc 3D release with include dvd with bonusmaterial not avaible on BD disc. I pay € 12,99 in October 2013, in 2015 i spotted for € 5,99.
Beautiful Creatures (2011) I have intrest in ''Life and Pi'' and 2 movieboxset (Heat / The Town) and it was part of buy 3 pay 2. Sad the movie disapointed and when i watched it was already confirmd there not going to be a sequel.
I only have 2 movies double on dvd. Years later then 1 disc version i bought 2 disc SE of Mission Impossible. I bought bonusmaterial version of Bandits my self and later on get version without bonusmaterial.
I bought complete collection of Macgyver include movie for € 99,00 and on same day i bought first 2 seasons who avaible in my country of The Saint for almoost € 51,00 (3 boxsets)
Bought the 4 slimcases boxsets with 5 seasons of The Incredible Hulk, i was 9-10 years old when last repeat of last episodes of show be on tv and at time it was not my thing/not remember much/almoost nothing. When i get chance of buying this for 4x € 9,99 at one store and seald i was very exited. Later on i also bought all 5 seasons of Quantum Leap and 3 of them seald, but bought at 3 varous stores on some day. Second season i bougt last, so it was big risky but worth it. Complete series cost me les then 35,00.
It's one of my most watched films. I absolutely love it.
