Already some do gooders are talking about social injustice blah blah blah. Its turned from a legitimate protest about a killing of an unarmed man to rioting all over London. Which has taken the heat off the police about the original shooting. Ummm funny that?
The police wouldn't let rioting take place to cover up anything, would they?
The siege of the police station reminds me of Assault on Precinct 13 - can't wait for the Olympics.
As for the riots. Yeah, I'm all for a little extra muscle (and weaponry) on the police's side but I don't speak the words for it's too easy these days being called a fascist and whatnot. We rather go back to our jungle days and throw faeces to each other - figuratively speaking of course ;;).
(I hope...)
Yes, folks we've timetravelled back to 1981/2
All we need now is a small war in the South Atlantic and a Roger Moore Bond film to complete it.
Oh, wait...
My partner said in January is unemployment doesnt go down then there is going to be summer riots.
I'm getting fed up of these bleedin' hearts saying cuts, social deprivation, blah blah blah. Put them in a field and shoot the idiots. Take 'em out of the gene pool.
There are some Londoners on the boards, no?
Most of the people doing it are wastes of space anyway.
we were also looking forward to an educational visit to Soho Stringfellows!
I hear it's a place in London where British Men can still be Gentlemen!!
The website looks fantastic but any establishment can be made to look good on a website.
And the prices - wow, 1000 GBP ($1,600) for a 3 hrs dinner with a Stringfellows Angel.
Is it really worth a stop during our visit to London?
In London's Hackney neighborhood, hundreds of youths left a trail of burning trash and shattered glass. Looters ransacked a convenience store, filling plastic shopping bags with alcohol, cigarettes, candy and toilet paper.
"This is the uprising of the working class. We're redistributing the wealth," said Bryn Phillips, a 28-year-old self-described anarchist, as young people emerged from the store with chocolate bars and ice cream cones.
Candy? Toilet Paper? Chocolate Bars? Ice Cream Cones?
How valiant! How gallant!
I mean if you are going to break the law and loot, why not take computers and laptops and Plasma TVs and expensive Jewelry and Ipads and Droids?
This is kids taking advantage of safety in numbers. None of them give a toss about the youth who was killed originally. They don't care that they burn peoples homes, destroy businesses and livlihoods, firebomb cars, mug others in pure daylight and no doubt will soon be responsible for innocent peoples deaths. They simply want a new TV without paying for it.
And the first police officer who injures one of these hoodies? He will be disciplined and probably drummed out of the force.
These kids will of course pay for it eventually. One day when they 'grow up' they will see their huge council tax bills and insurance premiums and shake their heads in disbelief, never for one moment realising they were to blame.
Sorry for this intermezzo, back to our lollipop stealing and rampaging British friends. I think the main problem in Englend is youth unemploymend and their frustration that money doesn't fall from the heavens. You might think that's strange, but many a couple of years younger then me grew up in a society where they were given everything by guilt-ridden parents who both worked and forgot to actually teach their children life's lessons. They never learned you actually have to work for your money.
Pretty relevant really.
"What a wonderful day to become a (K)night"
