<b>About Bond's softer side. </b>

<img src="http://www.insidesocal.com/outinhollywood/aaacraig1.jpg">;

'I wanted to instil it with some emotion. If you look at the later Bond films there’s this untouchable thing about him that I wanted to steer away from. [Because] if you’ve set someone up as Teflon-coated it’s very difficult to then show the sensitive side. Give him a kitten? Well, the BEEP baddie’s supposed to hold the cat, you know? It’s a tricky thing to deal with,' he said.

<b>Infuse the new Bond movie with 'wryness'. </b>

'The humour has to come from truth, at how ridiculous the situations are. Otherwise it’s just gags for the sake of gags. I’m not interested in that,' he told British magazine Esquire. 'I want to get the wryness back into it. It’s a balance, because you’ve got to believe that he’s going to be alive at the end of the movie. That’s a James Bond movie.'

<b>Craig worried about the state of the Bond franchise </b>

The 43-year-old actor explained that after work was suspended on Bond 23 in April 2010 due to financial trouble he was worried he would never utter the words, “The name’s Bond, James Bond” again.

Daniel told Esquire magazine: “If we couldn’t get the film made it would be ridiculous because we’d made all this money and it was a good bet. They were just in a very complicated financial situation but there was nothing [the film-makers] could do. Either it was going to sort itself out or I was going to get too old and that would be the end of it. I was desperate to have another crack at it. I think I would have felt disappointed eventually.”

<b>About the upcoming Bond film.</b>

Daniel Craig claims he is more excited about the script for the upcoming James Bond movie than he was for the universally acclaimed 'Casino Royale'. During a one-on-one discussion with 'Cowboys & Aliens' director Jon Favreau, featured on the movie's official website, the British actor predicted Sam Mendes will create the "classic" 007 movie.

The Road to Perdition director begins work on Bond 23 after winning huge praise for his work on the Old Vic's stage production of Richard Iii, starring Kevin Spacey. Craig claimed Mendes has all the "fervour and energy" required to direct a Bond movie, adding, "Sam Mendes is a Bond fan through and through. He'll feet-first run himself into it, he's read every book and just soaked up everything about it. I read the script the other day and I'm more excited about this than I was about Casino because we've kind of got a classic Bond movie plus lots of other things.

So his take is very similar to mine in the sense that we want to get something that excites us and turns us on and hopefully turns everybody else on."

Asked by Favreau whether "classic Bond" meant a return to gadgets, the actor suggested the new movie would continue to be more plot driven, saying, "Actually trying to find something that's new and interesting is difficult; mostly the technology is in the public arena now".

<b>About playing James Bond and still being himself.</b.

Craig’s only problem is convincing people he isn’t actually the famous spy: “I’m just me. I’m not Bond. I do not carry a gun. Honest.” That’s exactly what a spy would say…

:-"

<b>If Bond 23 doesn't turn out better than QoS and DAD and as good as CR, we'll all be shaken and stirred!!</b>

    @j7, Don't post the MGM/UA/Sony copyright images!

    And why did you have to insert another picture of a woman in panties and a bra? You're obsessed, man. Seriously.

    that's Olga Kurylenko showing a more humourous side of Bond ;-)

    plus I posted a swimsuit photo of Topless Daniel so got to be equal opportunity here.

    We have Female Bond fans as well as Male Bond Fans.

    :)

    about the images:

    one is a fan poster, how is that copyrighted?

    the other I found through Google, just a photo of Craig in a tux holding a Walther PPK;

    it's not an official press still from CR or QoS

    if you are so worried about MGM/UA/Sony images, then by the same logic, shouldn't every image found on every website using every imaginable search engine be deleted then?

    If that rule was applied to everything on the internet, there won't be any internet left.

    One has the MGM-copyrighted 007 logo and the other is an official press still from Casino Royale.

    still doesn't make sense to me.

    we can't post the thumbnail of the photos BUT we can post a link to the photo - the bottom line is people will still see these photos whether they show in thumbnails or they have to click on them to see it.
