So I guess we're The New Originals.
Like several others, I'm in the process of moving here after IMDb decided to shut down their boards. I can vouch for the others I've seen make the move so far, they're among the best we had there so they should fit in nicely. Hopefully they can make similar comments about me.
A little about myself: I was born early 80s and my first Bond experience was when my father decided to take me (already a lover of action and adventure movies) to see The Living Daylights and I've been hooked on Bond ever since. My top two Bond flicks are OHMSS and Thunderball, with OHMSS getting a slight edge as numero uno, though I do find some level of enjoyment in each and every film in the series. Dalton, being my first, is still my favorite Bond.
I read through the Fleming novels in my late high school/early college years, my favorite of them being Moonraker, and I've only gotten around a couple non-Fleming Bond novels.
I look forward to getting to know all of you and have some great discussions.
Nice to meet you TheSharkFromJaws. TLD was my first Bond in the cinema too - and I was swept up in 25th anniversary 007 fever in '87. I many of the Fleming novels before I saw many of the films. My favourite movies are FRWL, CR, OHMSS and TLD.
Enjoy the forum - there really is something for everyone. 'Brand New Guess The Character' is excellent fun as is 'Spectre versus the field', 'bond comments while you watch', 'controversial opinions' and although I've only been reading rather than participating the 'mi6 community Bondathon' is good. Some quality writing in there.
Welcome, J_W. I do think it's a cool user name. I always like the character as well. Even as ridiculous as he was in TMWTGG, he did get some good lines. Whenever I pop that Bond film in and we get to the moment 007 steals the AMC with JW in the passenger seat, it never fails to bring a smile to my face.
To all new members here: welcome to the family. Pity about the imdb forums. Most of the fun on the website were the various topics. Oh well, I think you'll enjoy the Bond atmosphere here. There's some Bond for everyone of all tastes.
I think I faded out from alt.fan.james-bond around 1999, and I can't even remember what name I was using online myself, let alone anyone else's! But seeing it mentioned is a welcome blast from the past.
Seconded. My personal favourite Bond novel.
My name is Charles.
I was born and raised in NYC.
I'm presently living in California.
I came across your site searching for comments on the 007 movies and found many of you are very smart at catching symbolism in movie narrative and have a true love of Ian Fleming's gift to the world. With that said...I am very happy to become a member here.
If anyone from the group gets back to me,
I have a favorite BOND movie and if at any
time it comes out for discussion...then
please contact me. Thank you.
Where shall I begin? Well it all started around 2 years ago when I began following the production for SPECTRE (2015) and I happened to find this great website and forum. I never needed to join so I didn't. Simple as that. But I did stalk watch these forums at least once a week. It'll sound crazy but I feel like I've always been a member.
Skip ahead two years and IMDb closes. I didn't post often on IMDb but I sure as heck read the posts there, just like on this site. Once they closed I was kindly invited to come and sign up here. I waited until today and... here I am folks! Excited to burn some new memories into my head and to talk Bond non-stop with you guys. I'm just as Bond-crazed as the next guy on this site, so expect me to post pretty much everywhere.
Anyway, I guess some of you want to know about my general Bond preferences so here's a taster:
-Fav Bond Film: Casino Royale (2006) (always stress the year!!).
-Fav Bond Actor: Tough but I'd say Connery - by an inch - w/ Craig second.
-Fav Bond Girl: Vesper. Truly sorry, but Tracy only gets second place.
-Fav Novel: Casino Royale of course.
-Fav Score: OHMSS tied with Casino Royale (2006)
I know it looks pretty biased towards CR (2006) but that film is a masterpiece and no nostalgia is going to change that! I could talk hours and hours and hours about it (believe me, I will) and although it has it's flaws, no one can say it didn't kick ass and look good doing it.
I love the Connery era as well but the films sometimes appear quite old and dated. Having said that, Connery still looks awesome every single time you watch him as James Bond. Without him the success of Bond wouldn't even be imaginable.
Well that's my opinion of course. I hope I'll never have to say that again :) .
But I know you guys and hopefully we'll have some good old Bond discussions in the future!
BTW you (might) know my name on Twitter as @Shellacsruler CHEERS!
I never knew how many additional features there were as a member of this forum. Took me longer than expected to adjust to the layout hehe.
A few threads you may want to take a look at. (If you haven't already)

Enjoy your time here, and if you have any questions please don't hesitate to holler.
Or in my case, "a matter of weeks." Not that I minded...or had a choice.
We'll go with "disturbinating".
From what I remember, the word is masturbinating.
