Today I saw a poster on the tube advertising SP bluray and DVD already! Ridiculous. Couldn't they at least wait until it's finished it's the theatrical run?

It seems too early for it to come out on DVD etc. But, looking back at the other films, it isn't.

I guess, with the imminent arrival of Star Wars, that they're expecting it to leave cinemas sharpish?

Cinema Promo picture who show there wil use same art as soundtrack. The above picture wil later automatic change in correct one.

Dutch release date is 25 March 2016 released by Fox who also releasing QOS and Skyfall. Barcode on the moment: 8712626081210

Earlier it look like Sony going to release like there did with Casino Royale.

I think like Night At The museum 3 Dutch release will not include slipcover. Or this must be first none 3D title from Fox who get slipcover in years.

American cinema release date was 6 November, so 9 Feb is way to soon. Earlier 8 March. In The Netherlands the movie last weak in the cinema wil be second or third weak of January atleast, mabey longer. Based on that CR who was release in third weak of November 2006, last weak whas in weak of 31 January 2006 and Skyfall whas till half February. In weak 6 Spectre stil did 1,9 million and already deliever more then 17,4 million. This Sunday Skyfall will be for 2th time on open channel on Dutch tv (First view whas on 03 Januay earlier this year) and this wil give Spectre another boost in cinema. If there are smart, there also repeat tv spot of Spectre whyle this second view of Skyfall.
Wow, that feels close! I can't wait to watch it in Blu-ray quality and listen to Mendes' commentary.

In 2018 i hope we finaly get new QOS release after 10 years. Ultimate time to release 2 disc editions of each movie include updated 2 disc of CR with include trailers of movie this time. Better delay Commentary with Sam Mendes and producers about Spectre till that version and already include commentary from the writers and another one with Lee Smith, Newman and van Hoytema.

Now that Mr. White's story is done, I hope we finally get treated to that QoS alternate ending.

By the way, do we have any idea what commentary tracks we're getting for SP? I think one from Barbara and MGW is a given, as well as one for Mendes, but I'd love to see Dan sit in on the latter as well, since he's become such a creative force behind these movies off camera as well as on. I could listen to him and Sam discuss Bond all day.

Curious as to what the steelbook will officially look like. Looking to get it day one!

Once the blu-ray release is officially confirmed, @0BradyM0Bondfanatic7, so will the commentaries. Hopefully there's plenty!

Good to know! Hopefully we get some good stuff. Dan's commentary on SF was sorely missed.

A release date of February/March is really fast. Probably to beat piracy. It used to be what, 6 months or so till a movie is released on video? Now its 3 months plus? Very fast indeed.
  • 90 to 120 days between theatrical debut and home video release is fairly standard in the U.S. for big-budget mainstream films... Has been for a couple of years now.

6 months? Try 2 years for TLD and LTK back in the day!

Why are you people acting surprised?

Bearing in mind the october/november theatrical relese dates...
CR came out in March 2007
QoS came out in March 2009
SF came out in February 2013

A turn around time of 4 to 5 months has been normal for years and that's also for films in general.

I was going to go ahead and pre-order it, but I'm waiting to see if there what all of the Region A/free exclusive/steelbook versions look like.

Definitely holding out for a possible Steelbook... I wouldn't think they'd do one, except for the 9 they already released in that format.
  • Amazon are doing a steelbook.
  • Won't Best Buy be doing a steelbook? They had the exclusive credits art steelbooks for the SPECTRE-related films.

    From 007.com:

SPECTRE will be available to own on Digital HD on 18th February, and on Blu-ray and DVD on 22nd February it was announced today. Taking more than $850million worldwide, SPECTRE is one of the most successful Bond movies ever breaking records in nearly every market it was released, led by a historic performance in the UK. The Blu-ray and DVD Special Features include an in-depth look at the jaw-dropping opening scene in Mexico City alongside a host of video blogs about the supercars, music, action and more.

Blu-ray special features for the film’s release include:

    SPECTRE: Bond’s Biggest Opening Sequence
    Video Blogs
    Director – Sam Mendes
    Supercars
Introducing Léa Seydoux and Monica Bellucci
    Action
    Music
    Guinness World Record

Yeah, they really need to put the special back in special features. We want (well I want) deleted scenes, we know there was a lot from Skyfall and they never made it to the DVD/blu-ray and it looks like the same is going to happen here. Enough of the blogs, how about a proper making of like we got on most of the previous Bonds.

And remember when there were booklets with the DVDs?! I think only Eureka/Masters of Cinema still regularly provided these. And damn good and welcome they are too.

They don't want to pay a documentarian for their services and no one on the production is bothered about sharing their craft in the way someone like Peter Jackson would. I know several documentary makers, including my wife, who'd be able to deliver an incredible feature length doc to accompany SP, but it comes at a cost and obviously they are not keen to shell out on anything that doesn't yield direct revenue, see the awful poster art. You guys should know better by now.

Also, do they really want to go into detail about the hack and the script issues etc.? Doubt there'll be a commentary. The blogs are a bit cheap considering we've been able to see them throughout production too. Also if they limit special features it leaves them open to release a deluxe or special edition later.

They already know that there's no reason to have any special features on the films. If the initial release had good special features on them, they would have a hard time getting people to buy the film a second time later.
