A James Bond DREAM I had. *A NEW one!*

edited December 2011 in General Discussion Posts: 4,813
Here's the dream I had last night.
It's the very near future (I must have been 30 years old; I'm 28 now) and I 'pull a Lazenby'-- meaning, I have no film experience but I luckily manage to land the role of James Bond, beating hundreds of other hopefuls. Awesome dream so far, \m/
Now, I'm an American, and in the dream I downright LIED at all the auditions, faking a British accent the whole time- both on camera and off. I manage to convince everyone that I'm British, and since I've never done a movie before, nobody knew any better.
So the movie comes out, and it's a HUGE success, sort of like Casino Royale, in a sense that it's loved by both Bond fans AND non-Bond fans! Everyone regards me as one of the BEST James Bond's EVER and they want me to keep playing him until I'm freaking 50
But THEN, someone finds out I'm really American!! DUN DUN DUN.... Automatically I'm 'the worst Bond ever'- everyone changes their mind about me and I'm pretty much done for. 8-X

What a sad ending to an awesome dream.... but what the heck does it mean?? What on earth was I drinking before bed, lol

I must admit @Master_Dahark, I was intrigued to visit your thread. The first 3/4 of the dream seems great, and would be great for any man American or British, etc; to apprehend. I am no psychiatrist, but you are certainly not crazy. Like many men, you maybe just want to be Bond. Could be as simple as that. The success of the film in your dream shows that you possibly wish Bond 23 good success and hope for brilliance even against some negative hopes coming from QoS haters. That state of mind got intertwined with your interest in being in the Bond role. You could also be fantasizing and wishing inside that an American could be given the chance to play Bond, and though you feel it may be a good success, the let down of the lineage of the actor may sink it. That's all I can apprehend, but I'm probably waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay off. Did it sound convincing enough? I wouldn't mind a psychiatrist's paycheck. ;-)

I must admit I was unsure about reading on when I 'pull a Lazenby' was said..:-)) However I concur with @0BradyM0Bondfanatic7, that was a pretty cogent diagnosis mate, When is the couch free next? book me in!

Spooky. I'd say success for the future is one thing you hope for, the rest, who knows.

If only there was a site called whatdoesmydreammean.com. ;-)

Sorry to resurrect a dead thread, but I actually had ANOTHER Bond dream last night!

Here's what happened: I had the good luck to meet Roger Moore in person (but it was at a convention, which if I'm not mistaken, he doesn't do) and I gave him a glossy print of my photoshopped DAF and TLD posters with his Bond placed over Connery and Dalton respectively.

    http://images1.snapfish.com/232323232fp:;2>nu=3246>9<3>:8:>WSNRCG=348849:2:6325nu0mrj

I said he could keep them because the more Roger as Bond, the better.
He laughed and said (and I can totally picture him saying this) 'oh I think they would have thrown me to the wolves if I stayed around that long!'

lol what on earth am I drinking before bed?? :D

@Master_Dahark You have some very pleasant dreams. I have all sorts of adventurous dreams where I'm being chased by villains, but surprisingly, I'm never Bond- just some random hero. :( Sometimes I hear original music in my dreams that I could've made some money out of (had I remembered the tune when I woke up!) Did you get to see any of the Bond film you auditioned for?

Alright you guys, I may be onto something here...

Had another dream last night: I was going out to the movies and they played a preview for METAL GEAR SOLID: THE MOVIE but to my surprise the protagonist wasn't the likely choice for the first movie of a series, like the young Solid Snake, or Big Boss, but rather Old Snake.

That's Solid Snake from MGS4 for those who aren't familiar

But here's where it gets good. Guess who's playing Old Snake???

    Timothy. Dalton.

When I woke up the image stuck with me, and the more I thought about it the more I thought how awesome it would be-- if such a movie ever came out!

    I even photoshopped it!

It suggests guilt/embarassment about your nationality. May be you are destined to travel the world and find a new nationality. Many people do this - even lots of Americans!

I keep having the recurring dream that I'm Bond during the TSWLM PTS. The whole thing, shot for shot, stunt for stunt, but from the point of view of Bond.

Also, a few times I've dreamt I was Bond in Thunderball, but Fiona Volpe turns to the side of good, Paula isn't killed, the Disco Volante doesn't explode, and the dream ends with Domino, Paula and Volpa celebrating with me on the Disco Volante, which for some reason now belongs to me and now has a hot tub.

    I have awesome dreams.

I wish I had dreams. Sounds fun, though mine would likely be more Sherlock centered.

It's not all good, I've had some pretty terrible recurring nightmares. I watched 'the Strangers' with a friend, came home to an empty house, lights weren't working, kept hearing noises. Needless to say my dreams for the next few nights weren't as happy as usual.
