Magical
1. Gunbarrel scene
2. Ski Chase
3. Cracking the safe
The appearance of Tracy in the ice skating rink. Diana Rigg was never more beautiful than there.
And of course, the ski chases.
This is possibly Barry's best cue in the entire series.
Agreed. Although it's not so much a scene but a shot, I'd like to include the moment you see M, Q and MP clapping together. It feels very poignant and intimate for some reason, maybe because all three actors have now passed away.
1. Pre-title sequence
2. Title sequence
3. Post-title sequence until end credits
My top 3 scenes could be best summed up by the score's names:
Journey to Blofeld's Hideaway - pure Barry magic - I get a pleasant prickle sensation across my scalp every time I see/hear this! With that amazing cinematography, the climactic payback to the tension and the excellent build up to reaching the evil foe's lair perched so dramatically at Piz Gloria.
Escape from Piz Gloria - of course THE escape and chase: It doesn't get any better than this musically and the action is gripping if only slightly let down by the ropey back screen projection.
Over and out - Draco's exchange from the approaching helicopter "with distinguished members of the world press..." as Tracy and Blofeld eavesdrop with that small smile from Tracy as she hears the voice.
Honorable mention to Tracy appearing on ice skates - a magical moment as Bond looks beaten and the camera pans up to show her face.
And of course there's the PTS, the intro of Tracy at the Casino, the fight/Bond's 'earning' his money's worth from her, Draco first meeting, Gumbold's safecrack, the contrast of a hounded Bond in his plight to get word out of Blofeld's plot whilst among Xmas revelers and the cheery (catchy) Xmas trees song sung in the local Alps village. The whole film is difficult to pare down to just three top scenes.
OK smart ass.............but you are right. :)
2. Village Sequence (more great chasing and a great display of Bond's vulnerability)
3. "We Have All The Time In The World" / Tracy's Death
Hmm. seems legit
:)
1. Tracy's death and Bond's reaction
2. Ski chase
3. Pre-title sequence
2. All the skiing parts
3. The bobsled chase
2. Ski Chase
3. Bond in Gumbold's office
2. Who needs to buy
3. Fireside Hypnosis. Which you must never touch.
Why do you guys lioe the safecracking scene? I'm cutting it from the film :)
"I will tell you where. I will tell you when. Forever.
- Gumbold safe crack: tense & well acted, it's Laz's finest moment as Bond imo
- Journey to Piz Gloria: beautifully shot
- Bond escapes Piz Gloria: from the cable car stunt until the mountain ledge... what a sequence.
1. PTS
2. Moonlight ski chase aka Escape from Piz Gloria (seeing Blofeld taking part in the dirty work--A first
3. The fight with Draco's goon in Tracy's room
1. Bond's marriage proposal to Tracy.
2. Bond waves goodbye to Moneypenny and throws her his hat. (Lois Maxwell's finest moment).
3. Tracy's death.
In my opinion, Moneypenny has all of her best scenes in the series in one movie.
"You didn't really want to resign now, did you?"
"What would I do without you, Miss Moneypenny? Thank you."
"I always cry at weddings."
So well-written and -acted. Who would have thought that Lazenby was Moneypenny's ideal Bond?
Never thought about it before but you're quite right, Blofeld doesn't 'engage' elsewhere and not really in SP either. TS really was superb in the role.
Credit to GL, his fights ARE epic
1) Journey to Piz Gloria: Great photography and love the score in this scene. Also Ilsa Steppat's delivery also went well right up to when she shows Bond the button in his room, also brilliant suspenseful score here.
2) Ski Chase: Full credit to Willy Bogner/Vic Armstrong for the intensity of this sequence when Bond escapes Piz Gloria.
3) Bobsled Finale: Was really risky not having a dramatic confrontation in a big location and was a brilliant scene as it was mostly real.
2-"I love you, I know I'll never find another girl like you"
3-Attack on Piz Gloria, especially when Bond slided on the ice while gunning everything in sight and when he jumped over the railing chasing Blofeld.
Excellent film OHMSS.
Agree :)
I also love this scene. Especially the quote: I mean what i say, and i'll do what i claim. And ofc the music that kicks in afterwards =)
Yes.....Blofeld spilling the beans of his plan to Bond was a highlight of the film.
....with so many memorable lines of dialogue.
"Cutting off your earlobes won't turn you into a Count"
1. Rooftop fight
2. Tanaka's very own Metro
3. EVERYTHING IN THE VOLCANO LAIR
I'd like to include three from CR'67
1. Sellers' random monologue on his Lotus F3
2. "What's New, Pussycat, Woooohooooowooooohooooo...""No, not here!"
3. Stuffed tiger sticking out its tongue because yes.
Aaaaaaaaand back to OHMSS:
1. "This never happened to the other fella"
2. Escape from Piz Gloria
3. Stock car race
(If you count 2 and 3 as one... I'll add Bond shooting while sliding on ice. So badass).
[If that chase around the streets of London concerning Bond and the SPECTRE mole had been included, I'm positive that it would have been one of my fav scenes].
You actually have 3 favourite scenes from CR67? How bizarre.
