I'll be seeing the film TONIGHT, so depending on what the embargo is, I'll be sure to post my opinions and answer some questions. Getting rather excited now!

I have an idea. To avoid spoilers I beg you to pick one of the following random words down below to describe your feeling about the film....to review it :-):

    The random words:

    "WOW" --- "WHY" --- "GOOD" --- "BAD" --- " ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ "--- "MASTERPIECE" --- "AVERAGE" --- "STUNNED" --- "UNIQUE" --- " ♦ " --- "OK" -- "FUNNY!' --- "PLEASANT" --- "TENSE" --- "OVERCROWDED" --- " ♦ ♦ ♦ " --- "GROCE" --- "...BUT" --- "SLIGHTLY" --- "ATMOSPHERIC" --- "COOL" --- " ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ " --- "INFERIOR" --- "TERRIBLE" --- "SURPRISED" --- "NICE" --- " ♦ ♦ " --- "CONFUSED" --- "BETTER" --- "BEST" --- "EVERGREEN" --- "CLASSIC" --- "DISAPPOINTED"

Ooowh, and regarding the gunbarrel back at the start? Please only mention this @Pierce2Daniel:

    --- "YES" ---or--- "NO" ---
No details about Daniel Kleinman's design for the gunbarrel, Thomas Newman's music for the gunbarrel nor the way it zooms out. Ok ;-)?

Please @Pierce2Daniel ;-)? Will you do the above for me?

Yes. My challenge to you @Pierce2Daniel is to post the three words (only three) you would choose to describe the movie, in the 'Production Timeline' thread. I don't want to come in here until Monday. Enjoy!

From all of the trailers and snips of the movie, Spectre has all of the expectations to be one of the top Bond movies. I was very impressed with Skyfall, but I just get the feeling this is going to be the one we all want to see. The cars and gadgets are back with Mendes and Craig going against Spectre in a classic but updated format. I believe you will be able to connect the dots from CR to QOS to SR and that makes it exciting. All the pieces are in place. This will be classic Bond for the next generation.

Good to see some optimism for a change, everyone seems to be a skeptic these days.

Agreed ....all the negativity was bummer me out and making me snippy. Sorry :(
  • So unless I'm mistaken, the screening starts in about ten minutes. I'm not even there and I'm going crazy with excitement!!

Me too! =; I am currently rewatching old DC interviews on youtube to pass the time. Something I noticed, sometimes he is very low-energy, distant and times here is absolutely manic. like here:

I am wondering whether he was given 'something to drink' by the interviewer! :))

hopeful DC will get drunk before his interviews this time also! :)>-
  • I think his attitude depends on the interviewer. Some he is much more comfortable and laid-back around then others. I think he is probably a hilarious guy to hang around in "real" life.

    @Pierce2Daniel

Here's what ur gonna do. 1st spoiler tag has either a yes or no depending on whether the gunbarrel is at the front or not. 2nd spoiler tag describes it. Sorry I can't wait until viewing to know whether the bond theme plays with it or whatever haha.

    WOW! Lucky B@stard!

  • Isn't the screening happening right now? It's 3 o'clock where I am so I'm guessing it's about 8 o'clock right now maybe right before the halfway point in the movie?

  • Awesome I can't wait to hear about it! I'm a little nervous to hear it might be a disappointment but ultimately I feel like it will turn out great!

It might be asking a lot but I want to hear that it is better than Skyfall. I found Skyfall to be a little overrated, or more accurately Bardem was overrated, so if it's deemed not as good that it'll be a disappointment.

My favorite is when he was asked (in TGWTDT interviews) if he enjoyed the sex scenes with a much younger woman (Rooney Mara). His response is priceless.

I understand what you are saying but imo just because some liked or didn't or kinda liked SF doesn't mean SP can't be worse or better on its own.

I know what you mean! Of course come Monday night I'll only be interested in my opinion as the film unfolds before me!

Personally I loved Skyfall so much that I fight with myself on deciding whether casino royale or skyfall are my favorite bond movies of all time.... I can see maybe why you feel bardem was overrated but I feel like if it had been done correctly, the villains in this movies will overcompensate for that. More than Christopher waltz or the Denbigh character, I can't wait to see Hinx and Bonds interactions!! If I want anything more coming from this movie, improving on what skyfall did, is that I want more action but it seems like that's exactly what we're going to get.

Oh I appreciate that. I prefer QOS to SF for instance! Some positive hype for the film would be welcome though,
  • Why are some people saying it might be not as well received? Has something been said already?

I agree very much so ...I'm sure Sony does too.

I enjoyed both QoS and SF ...maybe SF a bit more but I hate all the QoS hate.

Not aware of any negative feedback. It'd be rather nice to have a glorious night tonight like we had with the SF press viewing and people were tweeting their praise even during toilet breaks!

I'll be taking any press reactions tonight with a pinch of salt. If Skyfall is anything go by, some of them will pile of the praise with one eye on securing future EON privileges or to get their quote on the poster.

I'm far more interested in the views of those lucky bar-stewards on here who have got a golden ticket!
  • I'm interested to see if the reaction will affect the rotten tomatoes score which is really what people go by nowadays.

Who takes a toilet break at the press screening of a new Bond film (unless it's DAD)? Madness

Seen on Twitter Jessica Simmonds who had an invite to tonight saying it truly is fantastic! Still sceptical though as I didn't think it would be even finished yet given the run time?
