James Bond will return...
Just a reminder of the categorizes -
1. Theme Song - Implementation of the theme song
2. Use of Bond Theme - not how much the Bond theme is in the movie, but does the film use the Bond theme effectively and succinctly.
3. Style – Bond scores are meant to have the élan, sophistication and danger of the man himself.
4. Romance
5. Excitement
6. Brass – what is a Bond score with out the big brassy sounds, implemented by the great man himself, John Barry?
7. Suspense
8. Iconography – when hearing the score you know it is a Bond film, with a capital “B”.
9. Epicness – does the score wow you with its scale.
10. Timelessness – does it feel dated, or just as fresh when it was first released?
Goldfinger, 1964
1. Theme Song – 10. (Perfect implementation from Mr. Barry)
2. Use of Bond Theme – 9
3. Style – 10
4. Romance – 8 (I find “Alpine Drive” to be quite romantic)

6. Brass – 10
7. Suspense – 9 (“Laser Beam” anyone?)
8. Iconography – 10
9. Epicness – 9
10. Timelessness – 9 (taking a point off for “Into Miami”, which I love btw!)
94/100
I find it almost sacrilegious to dissect Barry's work like this.

The first truly great Bond score.
1. Theme Song – 8. (It's great but not perfect.)
2. Use of Bond Theme - 8 (The theme is used in sufficiently small doses.)
3. Style – 8
4. Romance – 6 (Only Barry gets romance out a theme song like GF's but it's not quite where we'll get eventually.)
5. Excitement - 9 (Raid on Fort Knox -- Oh my!)
6. Brass – 7
7. Suspense - 9 ("Do you expect me to talk?")
8. Iconography – 9 (Again, pure Bond)

2. Use of Bond Theme - 10 (perfect implementation of the Theme in the score)
3. Style – 10 (swinging 60s at its best, perfectly played)
4. Romance - 6 (not much romance to be found here)
5. Excitement - 9 (from the gunbarrel to the end theme, everything Barry touches turns to excitement)
6. Brass – 9 (just listen to the beginning of Bond To Miami)
7. Suspense - 9 (full of tense music, especially the raid on Fort Knox)
8. Iconography – 10 (a symbol of its time alongside the albums of The Beatles, The Stones, The Kinks or The Dave Clark Five)
9. Epicness – 7 (Not as epic as other Bond sountracks, but it does it nicely)
10. Timelessness – 9 (Fellini's favourite soundtrack is a product of its time, but undeniably a classic).
Total: 91%, if FRWL we saw Barry starting to rise, this is his claim to stardom. He created the Bond music formula here: basically a blend of current musical trends and classic jazz with strong symphonic influences.
