    Have they?
No, they haven't - but if and when Adele is announced as the title performer, you can bet they'll credit themselves with getting her the job.

Ah, that way. I'll bet they credit themselves for taking down the Taliban too ;)
As I said, I don't care. I just want a title track I can listen to. And Adele would be gonig from nought, no minus indefinately (AWTD) to plus one hundred in 0.4 seconds flat.

If anything, 2009-10 was a false start, not a part of the development cycle.
Not a false start completely . Remember, Sam Mendes was hired as early as January 2010!

It does seem that she'll record a theme, which makes me wonder who else has EON approached at this early stage, if anyone?

This past spring David Arnold was quoted as saying he would like Adele or Amy Winehouse for B23. Given recent events, I'd say she is in top running. I'm pretty certain David Arnold will be back. He'll be wrapped up with the Olympics by next Spring leaving him open just in time for post production of Bond23 for Summer 2012...sorry guys hate to say it, it's probably inevitable.

Horrible, horrible news if he scores B23. I was really hoping for some fresh new blood as the composer.
  • She is brilliant. Would be great for B23 :D

I must admit that I have no idea who she is. Maybe if you can point me to some good YouTube clips, I would be better informed to have an opinion.

Personally, I would have chosen Kerry Ellis, on the strength of her performance of Diamonds are Forever on Anthems. But YMMV.

"Due to licensing restrictions, some or all
tracks may be unavailable for playback

Don't you hate when that happens?

I think she would be an excellent choice and i did think she had been approached when i saw the interview on Saturday.
If they can give her a decent song and script, they could make is quite 'Bassey'-like'
  • i don't want it Bassey-like, i want it new, fresh and Adele like. Bassey is not the benchmark for Bond songs, PM, GM and JB are. Sorry if I'm going against conventional wisdom, but she's not all that. Two good songs given to her. My pet goat could have sung those songs just as well.

As in Bondesque not a parrot-like copied version of Bassey,i think you misunderstood.

And if your goat is that good i would enter it into next year's 'Britains Got Talent'.

2008 Live version of Cold Shoulder include some Violin playing

Interview from 2008 when she whas 19 years old (start at 0.19), of course a litle dated with Amy Winehouse died last month.

    2009

    2010
& Duffy at the same show

    2011

    Duffy interview 2008

    Duffy in 2007

Duffy rain on your parade 2009

I think adele fit more if we look to promotion, fame and exist. Duffy & Amy Winehouse only be populair in 2008-2010 & Winehouse mabey also a litle bit in 2011. From Adele we haven't seen a good Bond example yet whyle from Duffy or whylen Amy Winehouse we have. As said in a previous post a lead soundtrack performer should have get longer fame/never be to late (Tina Turner, Madonna), should be made (Shirley Bassey, Tom Jones) or there time (Nancy & Frank Sinatra, Mat Munro, Paul McCartney, A-H, Duran Duran, Adele ?) and not to fames (Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley). Alicia keys belongs in the to late catogorie (Should be ask for DAD.) and Sheryl Crow, Garbage and Chris Cornell i at in the don't known catogorie.

I heard them talking about Adele's involvement with Bond on the radio the other day like it was a definite. You can't beleive what DJ's say though. I reckon she might be recording a demo to give to Eon.

I'd still like Adele to perform the theme for Bond 23. Such a truly wonderful voice she has. It would be a great opportunity for her, and without a doubt would be most beneficial to the film.
Just going off topic slightly, but it can't be long before the tabloids (lol) start suggesting various singers to perform the title track for B23.
Predictions, Adele, Robbie Williams, Kylie Minogue...

here is his most bondian sounding song

Sounds to be like he could do a great song for bond 23 :D

Shirley Bassy did a trifecta @shadowonthesun. I don't see why good ol' Mr. McCartney can't have another whack at it.

Because it would mean Adele doesn't get to do it.
  • Because it would mean Adele doesn't get to do it.
And she doesn't need to wear a wig or get off on one legged escorts.

Let's get away from SB, PC let's move on to new divas - Adele is a beautiful singer and a talented song writer. She will give us a classic.
