GoldenEye (happens to be my favorite Bond movie)
Casino Royale (happens to be my second favorite Bond movie)

A View to a Kill
AVTAK's PTS wasn't even the flimsiest attempt at a story. Bond finds a microchip and then flees an army of evil soldiers. Wait, did a child write this? Because I came up with "stories" like that when I was improvising Bond films with my friends in school at the age of 8.
The PTS in CR and GE, by contrast, convey a lot of useful things, specifically about the new Bond. They also earn respect for trying out new things, whereas in AVTAK not even the stunts were that spectacular. The ski-chute in TSWLM, the chute-fight in MR, the heli in FYEO, the little plane in OP... What do we get in AVTAK? The water skiing? It's good, don't get me wrong, but it feels a bit like the real geniuses were on vacation while this PTS got shot. It's a huge disappointment, squeezed in between several before and after that range from very good to thrilling.
I also need to add Quantum of Solace to my least column. Yes the action is good but that's all it really has. It was pointless action that really does nothing for the movie overall. I always felt the movie's PTS should've started when Bond brings Mr. White in for questioning and ended when Bond is hanging upside down just after he shoots the bad guy he was chasing.
It should've went from this...
To this...
The main issue I have with AVTAK is the GG song...
As far as Moore-era PTS's go, I do like AVTAK's! I like that you mentioned the problem of the Lewis Gilbert PTS's; I'd never thought about the multiple plot lines before. AVTAK's definitely benefits from the simplicity of Bond trying to escape a Russian expedition gone wrong, and the fact that it directly ties to the beginning of the movie's mission is a definite plus (even though I do enjoy some of the separate-mission PTS's). Also- and I'm sure most people probably don't enjoy this, haha- I rather enjoy the Beach Boys cover. Perhaps I'm resting on too much AVTAK nostalgia since it was the first Bond movie I owned on DVD, but, hey- there could have been far worse songs to cover and include!
Yeah, the ice berg sub is a definite Moore-era hangup!
How would you feel if Octopussy had been in the sub?
1. Casino Royale

7. Quantum of Solace
8. Spectre
9. Skyfall
10. From Russia with Love
11. Thunderball
12. Moonraker
13. On Her Majesty’s Secret Service
14. Tomorrow Never Dies
15. The World Is Not Enough
16. Die Another Day
17. Licence to Kill
18. Live and Let Die

20. A View to a Kill
21. Octopussy
22. You Only Live Twice

Swap SP for TWINE and we would be pretty close.
In terms of least favourite's, QOS one, like the rest of the film, has good action but no context. TMWTGG, simply because, no Bond! Ditto LALD. TWINE's goes on for too long.
1. TSWLM - Nice ski chase and parachute deployment is a classic stunt (no fake cgi)
2. MR
3. FYEO - Loved when the Bond theme cuts in when he disables the remote control cable.
4. TND - Nice mini movie.
5. OP - Nice acrostar jet.
6. GF - Connery is the epitome of Cool, when he enters the club. "Shocking, positively shocking"
7. OHMSS - Loved the scene when he lights the cigarette, and opens the glove box to reveal the gun storage, with Bond theme playing in background.
My Least Favourites:
1. TMWTGG
2. LALD
3. DN
4. CR - True Lies fight ripoff.
5. LTK
No. None of the pts was.
Actually, I think Cameron's sequence and movie was much better.
True lies had some fantastic action sequences but so did CR and most importantly CR tops in terms of story telling and performances.
02 GE (great start for Brosnan)
03 GF
04 TWINE
05 TMWTGG (find it a bit overlooked, very suspensefull)
06 TSWLM (would be much higher, if they concentrated on the ski scene)
07 SF
08 AVTAK (cut out the Beach boys song and you have a great pts)
09 OP
10 MR (see TSWLM)
11 FRWL
12 OHMSS
13 CR (it is very inventive, it is just not really my cup of tea)
14 LALD
15 QoS (don't really like the editing)
16 TB
17 LTK
18 SP
19 FYEO
20 YOLT
21 TND
22 DAD
23 DAF
So,
LALD wasn't a rip off of blaxploitation movies?
TMWTGG wasn't a rip off of Kung Fu movies?
MR wasn't a rip off of Star Wars?
LTK wasn't a rip off of Miami Vice?
Craig movies weren't a rip-off of Bourne movies?
Give me a break.
No really, what was the story of CR? Bond has to play poker with a baddie to stop him financing of dirty deeds? That's epic, warrants a 2+hr movie to charge $15 pp.
I don't call them rip offs. Trends are more like it.
Did you enjoy the book?
Trends? you go with that. Cause I hear that's what the Chinese knock-offs call their goods too.
If only they introduced Piece peering round the corner out the darkness rather then, descending down the toilet.
The worst in my opinion, A View To A Kill, a really average start to a weak movie. Moore's Bond was always too slapstick and lucky for me, he never looked like an accomplished agent.
But Sir Roger Moore was an incredible gentlemen who I have huge respect for. Rest In Peace
For me, the Goldeneye pts was great, up until he jumped off the mountain and the fake green screen of him falling and catching up with the airplane was too fake and cheap looking. Anyone with some basic video editing software and computer can recreate that now. Much prefer real-life stunts, in my Bond/action films.
Nope it's called movie trends or theme which goes on and off almost every decade. They didn't just copy it frame by frame like mi series have Done in the last 2 films from bond series and other action films.
Moonraker first 2 hour isn't a rip-off
LTK isn't rip off
Neither were TMWTGG or LALD
The only thing Craig era has ripped from Bourne series was shaky camera's in QOS and not only bond but TDK also had an influence to many films in 21st century. Understand the difference between following an on going trend and ripping off
I know that jump was bad but stunt was performed completely real look it in the BTS of GoldenEye.
