their forced relationship i never bought... with Bond and Vesper, even though that had it's kind of rushed through moments - their progression was more believable..
This. :D
But then, I'm a fan of the winking fish at the end of LTK as well....
:D
part of the reason Connery left the roll, was that he felt they weren't giving him much character stuff to work with - so we'll never know, had they pitched the idea of doing a more grounded and character driven piece in OHMSS, he might have stayed on - as that was always type of Bond film he wanted to do (his words, more or less - not verbatim)... so if was something he really wanted to do, you might have gotten a better effort out of him....... but since OHMSS didn't go over well - they decided to lighten up the mood for DAF (a little too much for my own personal taste)
and thats the real problem with it right there... the movie was better suited for Austin Powers or Johnny English... not James Bond.
I won't hear anymore. %-(
here.. i'll just leave her here for you ;)
...all I can say this is a family friendly forum, damn.... :))
=P~
Awwwww. Now I *HAVE* to get the Blu Ray!!!!!!
But tell me, even for those who like/love DAF, do you even like/love the third act ? :) For me, the movie stops when the oil rig appears.
Outrageous world wide menace, a random observation by Bond that make him notice some error caused by Blofeld's ego, Connery in a Ken Adam interior set, and the "007 and counting" masterpiece, the movie can't go anywhere but downhill after that ?
:))
EDIT: And I'm definitely not able to engage in all the 'fun' of DAF that I'm supposedly missing. Did I watch a different movie? The movie I watched had stupid humour (drag Blofeld, Bambi and Thumper) and probably the worst special effects I've seen in a Bond movie (the diamond laser sequence, which is far, far, far worse than the CGI wave from DAD).
Oh, I agree with that.
In DAF, Bond is buried, is burnt, and is even killed (at the end of the elevator fight). Blofeld is also killed several times. But, in the end, only Bond walk on the water to resurrect.
It is a deeply, multi-layered movie that needs to be seen a dozen of times to be understood, but a pink tie blinds everyone alas.
Bravo! ^:)^ exactly my thoughts =D>
People are put off by the slightest things. Their loss.
For me the movie is great until shortly after arriving at the whyte house. The second act is extremely sluggish and terrible, with a few really exceptional scenes (including bond swinging to willart whytes suite, one of my favorite scenes in the series). It picks up a bit after then, and then collapses again. The very last scene is fun though. The first third is just significantlt better than what comes after generally speaking.
All these are so over the top that cause a love or hate thing towards them.those are always the most polarizing Bond films.
In 10 years SP will be considered lower Top 10 or 12.
Anyway this thread is about Spectre ...
To show a bit of dullness beneath, but I still love it. :) just as I love Spectre.
