This is Dionne Warwick's theme for Thunderball, that most people here already know I'm sure
This is Johnny Cash's Thunderball
This is Alice Cooper's Man With the Golden Gun
This is Ace of Base's Goldeneye
Blondie's version seemed a bit tooo fast
by the bye, found this one too:
anyone know why we had to listen to Alicia Key's screaming instead of this? I don't think it's good, but it's lightyears better then what we now got!
The producers of the film wanted Blondie to perform the title song: the band wrote a song titled "For Your Eyes Only", but decided to decline the offer when they discovered the producers wanted a recording of Bill Conti's song instead. Blondie's song can be found on their 1982 album, The Hunter.
As for the song in question, it's far too referential to Casino Royale and it's dialogue in my opinion when it in fact needs to be about the current film. I'm very glad it wasn't used.
Johnny Cash was embedded.
Alice Cooper version of TMWTGG was good, but I'll stick with Lulu's up tempo version.
Good move on not going with Abba Lite, I mean, Ace of Base on GE. There's no competing with Tina Turner.
edit: after some searching I found this: http://www.myspace.com/evaalmer
seems they did send it to EON, but I don't know if it really was in the running.
