1. Craig
2. Brosnan
3. Moore
4. Connery
5. Lazenby
6. Dalton
BEST DELIVERY OF THEIR FIRST LINE:
1. Craig
2. Brosnan
3. Connery
4. Moore
5. Dalton
6. Lazenby
2. Sean Connery
3. Pierce Brosnan
4. George Lazenby
5. Timothy Dalton
6. Roger Moore
Craig (excellent)
Connery (a less romanticized version of Moore's, and classic)
Pierce Brosnan (really..)
Roger Moore (Bond to the extreme)
Timothy Dalton (very weak)
George Lazenby (nearly identical to Connery -written-)
Best delivered line:
Connery (such swag)
Craig (you cold, funny basterd)
Moore (only Moore could pull it off..)
Brosnan (good enough considering he's hanging upside down in a bathroom)
Lazenby (aight)
Dalton* (sounded like he pushed it out -can't really blame him.. not a good line)
I often found Dalton -stiff. Not like that.. like in his movements, actions, and dialogue. Not always, but its obvious in some parts. Almost like he didn't feel comfortable in the role. After all he did delay quite a while..
I think by the time Daylights came around and he had reached 40 that was the right time to give it a go, let's not forget he was tied up in other work in the meantime, there was other offers before but Dalton wasn't content with something and decided to sit on it for a while longer, I guess timing is everything. I'm more than content with the time when Tim did accept the role and the two films he gave us
The news all over was that Casino Royale was not the typical Bond movie. So when I sat down and started watching Casino Royale, I was like, 'Oh God I won't like him!!'.
But when he started off and uttered the first line, he got it bang on! My view totally changed after watching that first scene. I can very well say that Craig has out done Sean Connery in Casino Royale(my personal opinion). QoS was a disaster with bad direction.
For the one above, ''i nneeeewww where you keep your gun'' was the element that shows Bond's character...
So DC the best!
Two very different scenes. Great attitude, delivery, subtle strength in both.
I agree, all the pressure Craig had he slammed back in the faces of those who didn't like him with those first lines.
Let you know it was the start of something great :)
2. Moore's was the best in terms of who the character is and not just for him but the other Bond actors as well.
3. Connery's was good for our first time seeing Bond and it was just a badass shot of him.
4. Craig's was alright but nothing really memorable.
5. Lazenby's was okay but I actually thought his first line was "I bet the other fellow never had it this bad." Guess I need to go back and watch OHMSS.
6. Dalton's was the worst only because it showed us nothing about him, nor did it give us any info.
Xenia: "You don't need a gun, Mr. Bond..."
>> Brosnan: "Well, that depends on your concept of safe sex."
FRWL
Kerin: "Your man Q, send it ahead. Warned me not touch any of the buttons."
>> Connery: "You were wise to take his advice. Otherwise, you may not live to regret it."
I have my favorite list too, but we cannot forget something. If Sean Connery bombed as our hero, we wouldn't be here almost 50 years later comparing Bonds.
I still remember seeing Dr. No in 62, as an 8 year old junior agent. Shooting bad guys, a Sunbeam sports car, Technicolor explosions, Connery's suave 007, and Ursula in "the"
white bikini knocked me out as a kid. I thought---can I grow up right now?
Now I can't believe, I'm happily waiting for "Skyfall" almost 50 years later.
Now it's time for a Vesper. Cheers!!!!
2. Pierce Brosnan
3. Daniel Craig
4. George Lazenby
5. Roger Moore
6. Timothy Dalton
Looking at my list here makes me cringe when I consider my ranking of the actors themselves, but that's the way it is when I only take into account delivery of their first lines.
2. Connery-Brilliant
3. Brosnan-great
4. Dalton-good
5. Lazenby-average
6. Moore -garbage
Great call, and it has been changed!
I still remember the 1st time I watched CR. Dryden getting back to his office at night and suddenly, Craig's cold, low voice litteraly cracking the silence, with words meaning "Dude, I know you're an ass and i've been sent to punish you"
:-O
You didn't like your hero's intro, GL? I consider it the best one after Connery's.

2. Sean Connery- cool, calm, and collected; terrific entrance for Connery's era and the series as a whole
3. Daniel Craig- much like Connery, Craig's opening line sums up much of his style as 007 and the revealing of a new era
4. Roger Moore- not particularly memorable, but Moore has a certain way of line delivery that is hard to dislike
5. Timothy Dalton- not impressive nor memorable in the least bit; who thought of such a weak opening line?
6. George Lazenby- OHMSS goes downhill from here, as does Lazenby's chance at being 007 for more than one movie
I also like Moore's delivery too. Very nonchalant, not trying to be Connery, putting his own stamp on the character.
As for the weakest, probably Lazenby. His voice is very uneven, and the camera angle is very awkward.
