Ok so it's a new year and we're apparently getting 2 bond games this year any idea of when we will find out info?

It'll probably be at E3, which is usually the second week of June.

Conveniently around the time the first Skyfall teaser is set to be shown.
  • I just want a good game. I'd honestly prefer they just go all in on single player and give us a great single player story campaign (preferably 3rd person like EoN or Blood Stone) and focus on the multiplayer afterwards. A game like Splinter Cell: Conviction with some good driving and a bit of free roam added in would make for a hell of a Bond game IMO.

Well, I just want Half-Life mechanics to be featured in a new Bond game instead of making it a rubbish COD clone.
  • I want to be able to make my own bond with saints row style character customisation. I also want a good plot that feels like a film (with a gunbarrel sequence).

But really I want a good, long game that has variety. Not a boring cod clone, a proper 3rd person action game where you do different things in levels. Maybe there could be a scuba diving mission or a ski/snowboard level, or a wingsuit escape through snowy mountains.

Exactly right! Variety is something that is a must with a new Bond game. Take Nightfire for example: Vehicles (Paris Prelude- helicopter sniper and Aston Martin, Alpine Escape- snowmobile, Enemies Vanquished- Aston Martin, Deep Descent- underwater Aston Martin, Island Infiltration- Drake's soldiers' car, airplane, big turret), Ground (The Exchange- Infiltrate Drake's castle, escape in gondola, Double Cross- rescue hostages, defeat the ninja, Night Shift- Covert inside Phoenix Enterprises skyscraper, Chain Reaction- sniping primarily, and defeating Drake's soldiers, Countdown- covert first third, gunfight second third, survive the last third), Space (Equinox- IT'S IN SPACE!)

Now there is a Bond game with variety! If we can get back to the real Bond gaming, then it'll be great. We need to feel like we're in a Bond movie, not a Call of Duty game. Yes, this sounds cliche now, but it's true. I want a Bond game where you feel like Bond, not a random soldier. I want Q's gadgets to use on missions, cool vehicles (not just Bond's cars), over-the-top action levels, and a huge multiplayer with classic Bond EVERYTHING- maps, characters, weapons, the whole 9 yards!

    new article about it...

Is it weird that I'm hopefully optimistic for Skyfall the video game.

I mean I know what everyone will say Movie tie ins are usually crap But I honestly think with the right developer and the right amount of time A movie tie in game might be amazing....

    I'm still hoping!

You all have too high of expectations for Activision and their companies. They will never make the game you are hoping for. Ever. That is why I'm waiting on Agent, a Cold War spy game from Rockstar. That way, I know a great spy game will come when Rockstar deem it finished. Top developer they are, that take the time to improve a game, no matter the deadline.

I'm waiting for Agent too. I wonder when it's finally released... This year Max Payne 3, next year GTA V (by Rockstar North too, who are supposed to give me my Agent..).. I heard this project started way back in the ps2 era, and I'm beginning to fear that we have to wait until the next console generation to finally get Agent... If you ask me, I'd take an original game from Rockstar North rather than yet another GTA... *sigh*

yeah pretty sure Skyfall will be the next bond game and only bond game for us in 2012. I plan on playing Reloaded up until that point. Hopefully Skyfall will be FPS.

With the cover system like blood stone and quantum of solace yes that would be cool.

Do you have any more info on this??? Because just the fact its a spy game from rockstar means I will love it. Rockstar are so cool, GTA, red dead, max payne, they have tons of great games. The only bad thing about this new spy game is that it means we can say bye-bye to any chance of rockstar making a bond game.

I like the cover feature but honestly I'd like full free movement like splinter cell conviction.

I don't think Bond titles should end happily. Look at Die Another Day versus Casino Royale. Quite a stark difference there.

I still stand by my point saying that NaughtyDog needs to take on the Bond license.

I wish I did. I believe it was E3 2007 or 2009 when we got to see a logo, but after that nothing has come news wise. Just that it is set during the Cold War and full of espionage. And Rockstar just delayed Max Payne 3 back to May... :(

They did make a not in saying that they were still working on it. It's not dead or anything, just suppressed. I heard it was supposed to be Playstation exclusive too? Either that, or there was another Rockstar Spy/Crime game. - That might have been LA Noire (which is obviously on all platforms, and is amazing)

It's a PS3 exclusive, yes. LA Noire was cool with its mechanics, but I hated Cole by the end of it. He was a bit of a d*ck.

Look let's be real. Someone like Rockstar or Sony is not going to pick up the Bond license. Activision is going to have it until at least 2014. While they have it, I want Raven or Neversoft or Eurocom to handle the titles. They are good studios who make entertaining games. Activision just needs to give them a bigger budget and get over Goldeneye.

After 2014, I don't think EA will pick up the license again. They have said how they don't want to make movie games anymore. If sales and reviews keep going the way they are, EON won't want Activision to pick it back up.

My vote to get the Bond license would be Ubisoft. Their Tom Clancy games are fantastic, not to mention very Bond like (mostly the Splinter Cell series). They have made movie games in the past, so why not give Bond a shot.

What movie based games have they made(Ubisoft I mean)?

    Make it OHMSS based :D

Ubisoft did the Avatar game. It wasn't the best but it was better than most movie games. They also did the awesome Scott Pilgram game. I know there's more but those are the ones I played. So it shows they are willing to accept movie based properties

As long as splinter cell moves back towards the likes of Double Agent and doesnt stick with the Conviction formula of kill everyone in the room and then proceed.

Ubisoft also make the assasins creed games , which are great for stealth and big action set pieces (and free running). So I wouldn't mind a bond game from them (voilition is my other choice)

And I know this is kind of off-topic, but is anyone else a bit pissed of that rockstar have delayed max payne another 2 months??? I was really looking forward to that.

A wee bit miffed maybe, but i'd definitely prefer they release when they think it's ready rather than have to patch it in a few months (after a lot of users have already got fed up with it).

I'm not so keen on Ubisoft taking the license. They're more of a "I'll settle for it" than a "Yes, Please."

But who would really WANT the license these days?
