I'm all for Portugal. I've been there once, and I got to say, Lisbon has got some character. There are tons of gorgeous terraces that overlook the city. There's the architectural from the worn tiled buildings to the modern business sector. Lots of good nooks and crannies for filming, lots to offer.

I would also like to see Australia/New Zealand, South Africa, a little of the US, and definitely more South America (I wish they would've feature Boliva's road of death in QOS).

It would be cool for Bond to go to Casino Estoril:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casino_Estoril

The same Casino where Fleming get inspiration for Casino Royale. That would be a cool nod to the Bond book in the film.

Good to see others with the same opinion. Fleming spent a lot of time during the war stationed in Lisbon (city of spies) and around it, such as other future spy novel authors. Lisbon and Portugal served as set for many spy thrillers including House of Russia by Le Carré and yes, Casino Royale was inspired by Casino Estoril. In fact in OHMSS Royale from the book was turned into Estoril in the film.
I have to say I don't love Lisbon and that I would like to see other parts of Portugal to feature in films such as the Douro region, Porto, the mountains (where I come from, with no shortage of dangerous roads)

Yeah that's why I would love a future Bond film has Bond going to that Casino in Portugal, it would be a nod and very trivial for the character. Also I wonder if Bond co Las Vegas in the future and gamble at this Casino:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casino_Royale_Hotel_&_Casino

That would be a cool and a nice joke to the Bond series.

You know I have a question: Did Casino Estoril after Worild War 2 and Bondmania in the 60's (after Goldfinger popularize James Bond) tried to promote James Bond in anyway (like for example, did that Casino tried to give any James Bond movie a red carpet treatment?)

The Casino produces musical shows all year long and I remember it had one many years ago called 007-License to Gamble, but I don't remember them ever taking advantage of the connection to Bond. It's the biggest and one of the most traditional Casinos in Europe, I guess they don't need the extra publicity. I have heard many people referring to one of the bars in the casino as The Spies' Bar (apparently they make fantastic martinis), because it was supposedly the place where spies from both sides during WWII used to gather, provoking each other with toasts. Don't know if that's true, though.

Oh I would've loved that Casino to maybe I don't know give Skyfall a Portugal Red carpet Premiere to celebrate the 50th anniversary. Would've been cooler if Casino Royale could've given that sort of treatment for the Portugese release, would've been a nice nod and connection between Casino Estoril and Casino Royale.

I don't know if they did anything this year, as I no longer live in Portugal. Would have to ask.

@4EverBonded Yes, it's time Bond returned to Japan. Personally, I would put Japan in the PTS- to further differentiate it from the amount of screen time it had in YOLT- but we can make it a long PTS. ;)

I'm backing up a return of Bond to Greece now. Probably influenced by the fact I had so much fun yesterday at a Greek party with some Greek friends. I was one of the foreigners there and although I felt out of place, it was still great. Funny fact I met an American-Greek guy who looked a lot (really) like Sam Mendes.

Here are two great casino locations.

    The Monte Carlo in Monaco:

I'd choose Italy, Spain (Doubleshot), Greece, Japan, Russia (TMFB), South Africa, Jamaica and Norway, Denmark, Finland or Sweden.

Promoting Skyfall last year, DC and Babs talked with the Brazilian media via video-conference, and they, specially Daniel, were very positive in saying that they will, in fact, consider Brazil for a possible Bond location for the next movie. Let's hope!!! :D

If Bond does end up back in America, what about New Orleans?

Might get stabbed with Felix and put in his own coffin at his funeral heard that happens a lot there now.

And Japan! If I haven't said it lately. I want a gorgeous snowy location in the next Bond film AND also part of it in this lovely and fascinating country I am in. Entertaining kabuki theatre, dodging ninjas, a samurai sword fight - then off to the alps somewhere! That would be fun for me.

I still say East Africa could be a good one - salvage diving off Zanzibar, landrover chase at Ngorongoro and speedboat chase on Lake Malawi.

OK, I just read that the film, Wolverine, coming out this summer, has part of it set in Japan - bullet train fight for sure (on top, no less), and I think ninjas (I haven't watched the trailer yet, just saw a still and read a quick article) - arghhhh! That's where I wanted my Bond to go. Maybe James still can; after all, nobody does it better. Just a little frustrating. Samurai, too. sigh ...

Yep, here is the synopsis: Based on the celebrated comic book arc, "The Wolverine" finds Logan, the eternal warrior and outsider, in Japan. There, samurai steel will clash with adamantium claw as Logan confronts a mysterious figure from his past in an epic battle that will leave him forever changed.

I'll try to see it because of the location, but I do want Bond here again.

Yes please, I like that idea very much.

It makes you wonder, how has Logan chosen to open the film? That must be settled on by now.

Morocco, Nigeria or even Haiti could be a credible choice to double for Somalia. Hell, they did a good job making pinewood look like Uganda.

Yeah but I suggested using Haiti to double for Somalia not for Haiti to be used again as an actual location.

Might be iffy to shoot there though.
